Abstract

Woman image in politic cant separated from woman social construct in social relation. This image in people’s mind isstereotype and gender concept about woman in all sector, include in political and government sector, that woman “incapable” to lead,because woman is irrational and rely on her emotion. Actually, there’s woman’s chance to enter political domain, but it’s very rare. Womanjustified as improper to politic because woman is kitchen/domestic “inhabitant”, irrational and nervous to take a risk. There’s several factorthat influence emergence woman’s leader, namely patriarchy culture, family relation, martyrdom, social class, lifestyle, social context, prisonexperience, and election system. Therefore, it’s necessitating more woman candidate in political domain, objective recruitment process, andinitialized with quota’s system to create critical numbers of woman politicians

Abstract

discussion about the status of woman’s political leadership has produce pros and contra among ulama. There’s a lot ofargument from each group from theological, sociological, or historical perspective. Women’s self image in classical tafsir literature still havediscriminative attitude to woman, positioned as inferior creature and weak intellectuality. This bias interpretation brought up stigma thatwoman is not proper to bear certain task, especially role on public domain as in political field. Therefore, in order to enhance insight tointerpretation that have character gender responsive and humanistic, we shouldn’t only interpret with literal and legalistic aspect, but must bebroaden to contextual-emansipatory. Finally, result of interpretation didn’t escape from Islamic vision and mission as rahmatan lil alamin’sreligion.

Abstract

By Koran, Allah explained that there is nothing different between man and women, all of them have some potency in Allah’sview, except their iman and taqwa, and nothing different man and woman in Islam, included in politics because woman got same potencywith man. If we see Koran text, imprinted have tendency to woman’s problem more caused base of our understanding and interpretationthat wrong to that text, because boundary (marginalization) to woman’s right from a perception that is perception folk-etymology aboutwoman.

Abstract

This paper will discuss woman’s politic role, political leadership viewed as difficult task, and womandeemed as incapable. At this point, ICT or multimedia can effectively help woman’s political task. Sophisticated andenhanced information technology and communication can simplify leader task and duty. Through ICT, leader cangive commando, dividing task, motivate, and giving punishment quickly and easily. ITC make everything easy,fast, with high quality. Computerization and digitalization positioned woman equal with man, as long as knowledgeand technological capability equal too. Physical constraint is not a problem for one that technology-literate. The lastquestion is about quality, only depend on it man and woman have equal chance to success and leading the world

Abstract

Direct local election (Pilkada Langsung) that initially aimed as medium to motivate woman representation on political domain,however still didn’t reach its goal. Until December 2006, from 296 district, only 61 (20,6 percent) that participated by woman candidate.Several studies explain that there isn’t significant impact of sex with political vote (Austin Ranney, 1999). Woman’s obstacle to participate ascandidate in local direct election generally correlated with social, ideological, and psychological problems, also strong patriarchal culture. Inaddition, UU No. 32 year 2004 still obliged every candidate to apply through political party. Woman often excluded early on party’s internalmechanism because women have minor strategic role. Furthermore, women also being hindered by fund, resources, and network problems.

Abstract

Woman leadership normatively has strong legitimating basis, from theological, philosophical, or law’s perspective. However,in reality still face many obstacles, internal or external. Main agenda to struggle is around education, economic, health, and stopping violenceto woman. Several strategies for future election are: fist, review to all entire law products that contradict with gender equality principle.Second, is enhancing political education through independent civil society organizations. Third, woman participation in general election mustbe more critics to vote leader that have perspective and concern to people. Abstract

Long history of woman movement in Indonesia showing what woman has given special nuance to democratization learningin Indonesia. Indonesian woman movement dynamic in last two year show that they courageous to express issues about their interest.However, in reality, still much homework to enhance woman access and control in decision making at public sphere that influencingindividual life at family. We have to acknowledge that, woman movement still urban bias and only enjoyed by educated ones.
