Abstract

Although computer has been used in into the educational world since along ago, it is not intensively used as media in learning process at university. It usually used as media in learning process only for computer lesson. If its functions in a larger as media in learning process of other lessons, it hopefully became an alternative way to improve the quality of learning at university..

Abstract

 profession means an occupation that requires a qualification of education, skill, and standardization. As well, a profession also requires social responsibility. Therefore, a teacher as a professional worker has to have a qualification of education so that he can properly does his/her duty and function. In other words, a professional teacher is one that well educated and trained on his/her subject. In detail, a teacher (to some extent including a lecturer) must have proper education concerning on his/her subject, good academic capability, faith and piety, good character, and good emotional and social intelligence. .

Abstract

 Teaching sociolinguistics is so important since it involves at least two disciplines, i.e. social studies and lingusitics. Sociolinguistics is a study of language linking to social circumstance. There are so many varieties of social classification, such as sex, age, status and classes in collective life that rise so many languange variation. Language variation is usually influenced by at least three factors; geographical area that rise local dialect, social factors relating to social classes and status, and educational background. Those aspects develop social dialect and register. Keywords: Variation, Register, Sociolinguistics, and Teaching.

Abstract

Teaching methods is always developed to make students became easily to understand the lesson. One of the developing methods tries to maka students can apply scientific theories to the real life. In this way, mathematics as pure science gets much attention to be developed. The most fundamental question is how students can utilize mathematics which initially in the form of concept as a formula which can be used in solving problem of life. Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) developed by Freudenthal Instute is a method which harmonize betweeen mathematics concept with reality. Keywords: mathematics, reality, concept, and RME.

Abstract

compensation is a kind of reward to educational worker for his/her knowledge, professionalism, time, and thought that have been dedicated to realize school commitment to produce qualified output. Compensation and teacher performance have straight relationship. The higher compensation levels the more effective teacher performance to enhancing education quality. Decentralization in education must be focused on developing local potential in every education organization. It has to develop a balanced effort to give great attention to teacher profession and remove any dichotomy in education. Teachers with state or private status have equal obligation to enhance education quality. Compensation becomes an important element to realize this objective.

Abstract

Over the last twenty years a wide range of Islamic educational opportunities have been developed to meet the needs of China’s 20 million plus Muslim population. In addition to mosque schools, government Islamic colleges, and independent Islamic colleges, a growing number of students have gone overseas to continue their studies at international Islamic universities in Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, and Malaysia.

Abstract

: Education deals with enlightening people and developing human resources. The reasecher concluded that cultural background of students influences their learning attitude in the school. Therefore, the developing learning process of Natural Sciences insist student to elaborate principles of Natural Sciences without ignoring cultural valuesof local community. The policy of decentralization of Indonesian Government had authorized and legitimated local authorities to develop curriculum based on the local cultures. To do so, each local government through the officers of Education has to create a curiculum by involving some curriculum experts, instructures, natural sciences theachers, and the lectures of universities who adequately understand learning model of Natural Sciences.

Abstract

Human is subject as well as object of education. As subject human determine education’s type and direction, and as subject he became focus of entire education activities. Therefore, every formulation of education has to refer to human on every dimension, which are reflection of dynamic thought or empirical reality. Without human orientation, that formulation can’t anticipate change, and education’s practice will fail. Human is a creature with two elements, namely material (jasmani) and immaterial (ruhani), and equipped with fitrah, nafs, qalb, ruh, and aql. With those instruments, human have potential, positive and negative. Positive potential have to be developed optimally and negative potential must be minimized, and education is appropriate means to build and develop good potentials.

Abstract

: Abu Zaid finds that all religious thoughts have been tightly affected by social, cultural, economic, and political interests and tendencies until there are so many difficulties to differentiate between the essence of Islamic doctrines and their interpretations. Therefore, he tries to deliberate people from such contaminated Islamic doctrines. Alternatively, he calls them to read Islamic sources and thoughts critically, scientifically, and productively. Pedagogically, Abu Zaid’ intellectual capacity had been built for a long time through conducive processes of education and impressive experiences in religious life. Actually, an intellectual capacity Abu Zaid had achieved is a part of ultimate goal of Islamic Higher education. Accordingly, to produce students as smart as Abu Zaid, a lecturer shall apply active learning, a learning that empowers all students along with their all potencies. To give a kind of focused description, this paper just draws an example way of handling an active learning process of class of Theology by which students can develop their thoughts as deliberately as Abu Zaid had done.

Abstract

Corruption is human mentality problem associated with greed and asocial. Ironically, in the herald of ideal education concept, what that produced was people that more astute and slippery to corrupt. The rise of white-collar crime is a sign of poor education quality that fail to produce moral people. Education that have duty to develop human potential and as a cultural inheritance process have huge share to produce human with good moral, intelligent, and competent, which have vital role to combat corruption. Education in Indonesia has been distorted and tends to give priority to legal-formal aspect. On removing corruption context, education has to produce human that have commitment to values and virtues to become good people, namely explicit to combat corruption.
