Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the significant correlation between profession awareness, previous school belonging and perception toward teaching with acquisition of sudy yield on the student of gruduate-degree equalizing program of PGSM on the department of Mathematics and Natural Science Education. Descriptive analysis characterized by expost facto was used. Data was collected upon 40 student of PGSM. Anareg md Anatysis of Variant with dummy variables were used with the degree of significant if p>0.05. The result showed that thqe is a positive correlation, which is not significant between profession awareness, previous school belonging and the perception toward teaching with acquisition of study yield on the student (R=406; p=0,086, thus p>0,05). Abstract

ABSTRACT- This research aimed to ascertain the application of Problem Based Learning model towards student?s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. This research was a quasi experiment research. The research was designed using posttest only control group design using Problem Based Learning as model towards the experimental group, as compared to the conventional model. The conventional model was complemented with discussion, classical course and question-answer method. The population of this research was all of  X degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The sample of this research was taken using cluster random sampling. The data was collected by using  essays test, document and through observation. The stated hypotheses was tested using t-test. The conclusion of this research showed that the application of  Problem Based Learning model has given significant effect towards student?s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.   Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Creative Thinking Skill

Abstract

The objective of this development research was to know: 1) a product- learning module based POE (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with Roundhouse Diagram (RD) to empowering 10th grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta; 2) the feasibility of module based POE with RD to empowering 10th grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta; 3) the effectiveness of module based POE with RD to empowering 10th Grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method which refers to the development of Borg and Gall modification. The sample used in the research development are early: 1) field trial sample consisting of 6 validators; 2) The main field trial sample consisting 10 students and 1 teacher; 3) operational field trial sample consisting of 32 students. The intsrumen used in the research are questionnaire, observation, interview and test. The operational field trial used one group pretest-posttest design. Science process skills and explaining abilities data are tested by paired t-test and counted by normalized N-gain. Based on the results of research it can be concluded that: 1) the development of module based on POE with RD using a modified Borg and Gall?s development model through some steps that are research and collecting information, planning, develop a preliminary form of the product, preliminary field testing, the main product revision, playing field testing, product revision operations, field operations, final product revition, dissemination and implementation; 2) the feasibility of module based on POE with RD which is developed at the trial is categorized as good by the expert, very good by the practitioners and good by the students as well; 3) the effectiveness of module based on POE with RD is significantly increased as medium categorized in empowering science process skills and high categorized in empowering the ability to explain. Keywords:     Module Development, POE, RD, Science Process Skills, Explaining Abilities

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui prosedur pengembangan sekaligus menghasilkan produk modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera di kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo; (2) mengetahui kelayakan modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera di kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo; (3) mengetahui efektivitas keterterapan modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan mengacu kepada rancangan penelitian pengembangan modifikasi dari model pengembangan 4D dari Thiagarajan. Prosedur yang dimaksud meliputi 4 tahap yaitu, (1) pendefinisian (define), (2) perancangan (design), (3) pengembangan (develop), (4) penyebaran (disseminate) tahap uji coba dan revisi produk. Uji coba dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahap, yaitu tahap pertama review dengan ahli modul dan media pembelajaran, ahli perangkat pembelajaran, serta ahli isi/ materi; tahap kedua dilakukan dengan uji coba praktisi, tahap ketiga uji coba produk kelompok kecil terhadap 15 siswa, tahap terakhir dengan uji coba lapangan dalam setting eksperimen terhadap 31 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) pengembangan modul elektronik berbasis POEI telah dilaksanakan melalui prosedur pengembangan  yang meliputi 4 tahap utama. 2) perolehan rata-rata penilaian hampir semua tahapan yaitu pada uji coba ahli  total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah 3,70 dalam skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk kategori ?sangat baik?. Pada uji coba oleh praktisi  total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah 3,50 dalam tabel skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk ?sangat baik?. Pada uji coba skala kecil total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah kategori 3,57 dalam tabel skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk kategori ?sangat baik?. 3) Efektifitas produk dapat dilihat melalui skor rata-rata posttest kelompok yang menggunakan modul elektronik berbasis  adalah 81,40 dan skor rata-rata posttest kelompok yang tanpa menggunakan modul elektronik adalah 73,0. Hasil uji t hitung antar kelas menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,02, lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,02<0,05) yang berarti antar kedua kelas mempunyai perbedaan yang signifikan.  Kedua kelompok yaitu kelas yang menggunakan modul elektronik berbasis POEI dan kelas tanpa menggunakan modul elektronik memiliki prestasi belajar yang tidak sama. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul elektronik berbasis POEI terbukti efektif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan dikategorikan sangat baik sehingga layak digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar mata pelajaran Biologi materi Sistem Indera. Kata Kunci: Modul elektronik, POEI, sistem indera, hasil belajar kognitif

Abstract

This is the research about the diet of rice-field rats lived in unsynchronized planting system of paddy field, a condition when paddy field are heterogen in term of stages. At that kind of field, carbohydrate supplies, in a form of bootig to harvesting of paddy are available at all the time. That condition gives benefit to the rats, since those stages supply the most preference diet and also supply a lot food that act as the main factor support its reproduction. The preference of the best supporting-food for reproduction were proved by the presence of it and prevalence of reproduction respectively. The result of this research can be use an ecological learning material for he who wants to study about eco-physiology. This research was carried out at all stages of rice plant toward unsynchronized planting system of paddy field of Sukoharjo. Some systematic steps of this research were catching the rat by using the linier trap barrier system (LTBS) and by using the fumigation, determine its reproductive state which was according to Allen (1920), identify the diet by ventriculus analysis and then give analyze to the data. Ventriculus analysis showed thet rice-field rat to consume the energy-rich food in a form of booting to harvesting paddy stages in every stage of rice. That pattern of food consumption will trigger its reproduction respectively, thus, the reproduction occur continuously. At that case, carbohydrate can be guess as proximate and ultimate limiting factors that lead the reproduction to occur. That eco-physiology phenomenon showed the effect of environment toward the physiology and behavior of organism. That the ecological material to learn. Abstract

The aims of this research is to improve students? ceativity and cognitive achievments through outdoor learning activity at the SMPN 2 Bambanglipuro Bantul.  This research is a classroom action research using Kemmis and Taggart Model. The phases are planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research had done in 2 cyclic under the topics ?ingenhouz and sachz experiments?. Subject of this research were 30 students in grade VII E. The instruments were teaching guide, worksheet, instructional media, creativity observation sheet, and test of cognitive. Data of instructional process and students? creativity were analized with descriptive analysis. Data of students cognitive was analyzed with gain score. The results showed that students? creativity increased. There were three categories of students? creativity, i.e. poor, fair, and good. In cyclic I, category of poor was 42,38%, fair was 45,17% and good 11,9%. In cyclic II, category of poor was 27,14%, fair was 43,33%, good was 29,53%. The students cognitive had increased from 54,67 in precyclic, 80,67 in cyclic I, and 96,67 in cyclic II with fair in gain score. Keywords : students? creativity, cognitive achievement, outdoor learning activity Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemampuan kognitif siswa SMP N 2 Bambanglipuro Bantul melalui outdoor learning activity. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan mengikuti model dari Kemmis and Taggart meliputi tahap-tahap: perencanaan, pelaksanaan/tindakan dan observasi, serta refleksi yang berlangsung dalam 2 siklus pada materi fotosintesis yaitu uji ingenghouz dan uji sachz. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 30 siswa kelas VII E. Instrumen dalam penelitian terdiri dari instrumen pelaksanaan penelitian yaitu RPP, LKS, serta media pembelajaran melalui outdoor learning activity dengan model PBL dan instrumen pengambilan data berupa lembar observasi kegiatan pembelajaran, lembar observasi kemampuan kreativitas dan soal tes kemampuan kognitif siswa. Data kualitas proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan kreativitas siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sementara itu, data kemampuan kognitif siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan gain score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kreativitas siswa dari kreativitas kurang sebanyak 42,38%, sedang 45,71% dan baik 11,91%  pada siklus 1 menjadi  kemampuan kreativitas kurang 27,14%, sedang 43,33% dan baik 29,53% pada siklus 2.  Kemampuan kognitif juga terdapat peningkatan dari 54,67 pada pra siklus menjadi 80,67 pada siklus 1 dan 96,67 pada siklus 2 dengan gain score pada kriteria sedang. Kata kunci: kreativitas siswa, kemampuan kognitif siswa, outdoorlearning activity

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research are to find out: (1) the intluence of using the OHP mediq and LKS (l,embarKerja Siswa,/student worlcsheet) to raise the quality of scientific education (2) the influence using demonstrationmethod and information discussion method to raise the quality of scientffic subject education (3) interaction offactor 1 andfactor 2 in raising the quality of scientific education.The research used the experiment method with 2X2 factorial design. The researcher collected the databy giving test to the subject. The population of the research was the third grade of senior high school (MTsN)Salatiga, the number of the samples were 80 students (divided into two classes), taken from sub-populations of268 students (in six classes). The researcher applied random sampling technique. The data was analyzed byusing ANOVA at the level of significance d = 0,05.The results showed that: (1) there is a significant dffirence of using the OHP and LKS in rising thequality of scientific subject education (2) there is significant dffirence of using the demonstration method andinformation discussion method in rising the quality of scientific subject education (3) there is no interactionbetween the usage of OHP transparence and LKS with the usage of demonstration and information discussionmethod to raise the quality of scientffic education.Keywords: transparence, OHP, dffirence influences, scientific subject education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT-Initially trace the genealogy of a taxon is an impossibility, when only few parameters available. Many parameters must be taken into account in data collection. Genealogy of plants is much more complicated than other creatures. One of which that believed to trace the genealogy at the same time ensuring that there is speciation in plants is molecular identification, using either chloroplast genomes, mitochondrial genomes and nuclear genomes. Abstract

ABSTRACT Plankton and benthos are two communities of organisms that can be used as bioindicator of aquatic environment. The purpose of this research were to determine kinds, density and diversity of plankton and benthos in Pepe river Surakarta as bioindicator. Study site was devided into 3 station as sampling location. Data sampling of identifying the type, density and calculating the value of diversity index (ID) according to Shannon Wiener formula. Investigations carried out measurements of environmental parameters, namely temperature, pH and Dissolved Oxygen   The result showed that 1) identified 20 kinds of plankton in Pepe river Surakarta namely Spirogyra, Eustbidentat, Pleurosigma, Oscilatoria, Euglena, Aungilospora, Gonatozygon, Dendrospora, Amoeba, Blepharisma sp, Hapalosiphon, Skeletonema, Synura, Stentor, Worochinia, Leptomitus, Peridinium, Paramecium, Volvox, Rhizosolenia, and Lyngbia with the composition and density vary between each sampling site, 2) Identified 3 kinds of benthos in Pepe river Surakarta namely Melanoides sp, Lymnaea sp and Fimbria fimbriata with the composition and density vary between each sampling site and 3 ) the Shannon Wiener Diversity Index (ID) of plankton and benthos in Pepe river Surakarta ranged from 0.98 to 1.98, showing the condition of polluted waters from mild to severe, varied between sampling sites.   Kata kunci : plankton, bentos, density , diversity, Pepe river
