Abstract

ABSTRAK Rendahnya hasil belajar biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Klaten dikarenakan pembelajaran berpusat pada guru, sehingga pembelajaran tidak menarik, membosankan dan siswa menjadi pasif. Rendahnya hasil belajar tersebut tercermin dari capaian nilai siswa yang cenderung berada di bawah nilai KKM yang ditetapkan. Kondisi tersebut kurang relevan dengan hakikat sains, dimana idealnya biologi diajarkan mengacu pada aspek produk, proses, dan sikap ilmiah.                Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan media Power Point dan Media Animasi pada pembelajaran remedial biologi terhadap ketuntasan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan sampel penelitian siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Klaten, semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 pada materi Pembelahan Sel, dengan menggunakan media Power Point dan media Animasi.. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes untuk hasil belajar aspek kognitif dan aspek afektif dengan observasi penilaian sikapHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Power point dan Animasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa mencapai 80%. Media pembelajaran merupakan  sarana yang dapat mendorong siswa lebih aktif sehingga siswa dapat mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya sendiri. Keterampilan proses sains yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran  mampu meningkatkan perolehan nilai dalam pencapaian ketuntasan belajar secara signifikan.Walaupun media Power Point dan Animasi efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran remedial biologi khususnya pada materiPembelahan Sel, namun diperlukan peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran secara lebih sistematis. Kata kunci : Media Power Point, media Animasi, pembelajaran remedial, hasil belajar

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the difference of science process skills between problem based learning models combined with informal debate and conventional learning at X grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2013/2014. This study was a quasi experimental research. The research design was used post-test only nonequivalent control group design. This research applied problem based learning models combined with informal debate in experimental group and contextual with based on problem?s discussion in comparator group. The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2013/2014. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X.4 as experiment group and X.11 as control group. Techniques of collecting data were test and non-test methods. The test method included science process skills test. The non-test method included observation and documentation.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test.  The result of research assert that average values of science process skills at experiment group (74,4) higher than comparator group (63,8).  The result of statistic analysis used hypotheses test assert that Sig. < 0,05 is 0,000 which there is differences between problem based learning application combined with informal debate and conventional learning. This research concluded that there is differences of science process skills between application of problem based learning models combined with informal debate and conventional learning at X grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2013/2014. Key words : problem based learning, informal debate, science process skills.

Abstract

The objective of this development research was to know: 1) a product- learning module based POE (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with Roundhouse Diagram (RD) to empowering 10th grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta; 2) the feasibility of module based POE with RD to empowering 10th grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta; 3) the effectiveness of module based POE with RD to empowering 10th Grade student?s science process skills and student?s explaining abilities of State Senior High School 5 Surakarta. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method which refers to the development of Borg and Gall modification. The sample used in the research development are early: 1) field trial sample consisting of 6 validators; 2) The main field trial sample consisting 10 students and 1 teacher; 3) operational field trial sample consisting of 32 students. The intsrumen used in the research are questionnaire, observation, interview and test. The operational field trial used one group pretest-posttest design. Science process skills and explaining abilities data are tested by paired t-test and counted by normalized N-gain. Based on the results of research it can be concluded that: 1) the development of module based on POE with RD using a modified Borg and Gall?s development model through some steps that are research and collecting information, planning, develop a preliminary form of the product, preliminary field testing, the main product revision, playing field testing, product revision operations, field operations, final product revition, dissemination and implementation; 2) the feasibility of module based on POE with RD which is developed at the trial is categorized as good by the expert, very good by the practitioners and good by the students as well; 3) the effectiveness of module based on POE with RD is significantly increased as medium categorized in empowering science process skills and high categorized in empowering the ability to explain. Keywords:     Module Development, POE, RD, Science Process Skills, Explaining Abilities

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil ditinjau dari aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2x2. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Plupuh Sragen. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara acak dengan teknik cluster random sampling terdiri dari dua kelas. Kelas eksperimen I diberi perlakuan menggunakan laboratorium riil terdiri dari 32 siswa dan kelas eksperimen II diberi perlakuan menggunakan laboratorium virtuil terdiri dari 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes untuk data hasil belajar kognitif, psikomotor dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak, angket untuk data aktivitas dan hasil belajar afektif, lembar observasi untuk data psikomotor dan afektif. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan anava tiga jalan sel tak sama dengan bantuan software SPSS 17. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa: (1) hasil belajar pembelajaran POE melalui laboratorium riil lebih tinggi daripada laboratorium virtuil, baik aspek kognitif, psikomotor, maupun afektif; (2) siswa dengan aktivitas belajar tinggi memiliki hasil belajar yang lebih baik daripada siswa dengan aktivitas belajar rendah; (3) siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak tinggi memiliki hasil belajar yang lebih baik daripada siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak rendah; (4) terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil dengan aktivitas belajar terhadap hasil belajar; (5) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar; (6) terdapat interaksi antara aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar; (7) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil, aktivitas belajar, dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar. Kata Kunci:  Model POE, Laboratorium Riil, Laboratorium Virtuil, Aktivitas Belajar, Kemampuan Berpikir Abstrak

Abstract

Study on implementation of teachning practice guidance by using the appreciable model?s method has been carried out in oerder to enhance the teaching skill of teacher?s andidate in teaching the scientific subject. The model applied by the candidates during teaching was created by the supervisors. The study it self was carried out during the student?s practice of teaching in 3 junior high school, supervised by 3 lecturer and 3 senior teachers. The candidates were then asked to make the review toward that method and disscuss it with the supervisor. The results indicated that appreciable model?s method could be as alternative method used by the candidate an supervisor during the guidance of teacher?s candidate. It was showed by the raising of the candidate?s skill in making the teaching materials preparation, and also the teaching sill respectively. Abstract

The research was aimed to ascertain the influence of application augmented reality media based discovery learning toward learning achievement. The research was quasi experimental research, using post-test only with non-equivalent groups. The population was all students of XI IPA MAN 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2015, which is divided into 3 classes. The sampling technique used in the research was a cluster sampling. Sample was used class XI IPA 2 consist of 22 siswa for control class with image media with konvensional learning ang class XI IPA 1 consist of 22 siswa for experiment class with augmented reality media based discovery learning. The data were collected using tests and non-tests techniques. Tests techniques using tests method multiple choice and short essay to measure learning achievement in knowled domain, while non-test techniques observation method using observation sheet to measure learning achievement in skills domain and attitude domain. The hypothesis was analyzed with t-test and mann-whitney test using SPPS version 16. The result showed learning achievement knowledge domain (Sig. 0,000 < 0,05), skills domain (Sig. 0,003 < 0,05), and attitude domain (Sig. 0,008 < 0,05). Based on the result to indicate signification of learning achievement < 0,05 so there were difference effects of application augmented reality media based discovery learning with konvensional learning toward learning achievement. Keywords: augmented reality media, discovery learning, learning achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve quality of biology learning considered by teacher’s performance, utility of facilities in the classroom, classroom climate, student’s scientific attitude, and student motivation to learn in class XI.IPA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2012/2013. This research was a Classroom Action Research which performed in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of 4 phases; planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data was collected by questionnaire, observation, and interview. Data validation was used triangulation of methods and triangulation of observers. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive technique. Result of the research showed that according triangulation the average percentage for  teacher’s performance in pre cycle (63.96%), cycle I (90.21%), cycle II (95.83%) and cycle III (100%); classroom climate pre cycle (70.22%), cycle I (86.43%), cycle II (83.30%) and cycle III (84.65%); student’s scientific attitude  pre cycle (69.31%), cycle I (76.20%), cycle II (77.61%) and cycle III (83.45%); and student motivation to learn pre cycle (67.01%), cycle I (70.33%), cycle II (73.97%) and cycle III (77.69%); utility of learning facilities in the classroom have been optimally. The  results  showed  that  the  average  percentage quality of  biology learning aspect such as  pre cycle (67.63%),  cycle I (80.79%), cycle II (82.68%) and cycle III (86.45%). The quality of biology learning was  increase 18.82% from pre cycle to cycle III. Cycles stopped in cycle III because the research target was achieved. The conclusion describes that the implementation of problem based learning with science technology society approach was able to improve the quality of biology learning considered by teacher’s performance, utility of facilities in the classroom, classroom climate, student’s scientific attitude, and student motivation to learn in class XI.IPA 5 at SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2012/2013. Key Words: Problem Based Learning, Science Technology Society Approach, Quality of Biology Learning

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effect of discovery learning with lateral thinking on questioning ability of the 10th IPA graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar.This study was a quasi experimental research with post-test only with non-equivalent group research design. The population of research was all of the 10th graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling one. The 10th IPA 2 grade served as experiment group and the 10th IPA 3 as control. Techniques of collecting data used were test and non-test. Test technique employed essay question instrument to measure the learning outcome in cognitive domain, while non-test technique used observation sheet instrument to measure the students’ questioning ability, learning outcome in psychomotor and affective domains and the implementation of learning syntax. Hypothesis testing was carried out using t-test with SPSS version 17 help.The results showed that the ability to ask students between the experimental group and the control group were significantly different . Values experimental group students' ability to ask include: questions asking for an explanation of 1.54 ; The question of what , why and how 36.18 ; background hypothetical question 40.13 . Value KPS control groups included: the question asked for an explanation of 0.57 ; The question of what , why and how 41.03 ; background hypothetical question 29.06 This research concluded that there was an effect of discovery learning model with lateral thinking method on the questioning ability of the 10th IPA graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar. Keywords: discovery learning, lateral thinking, questioning ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model Science Technology Society melalui metode eksperimen lapangan dan laboratorium, pada siswa yang memiliki sikap peduli lingkungan dan kreativitas verbal kategori tinggi dan rendah, terhadap prestasi belajar biologi siswa, serta interaksinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode true experiment. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling sebanyak 2 kelas, yaitu kelas X4 dan X7. Kelas X4 diberi pembelajaran dengan metode eksperimen lapangan dan kelas X7 dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes untuk mendapatkan data prestasi belajar kognitif, psikomotor dan kreativitas verbal siswa, metode angket untuk mendapatkan data sikap peduli lingkungan, prestasi belajar afektif serta metode observasi untuk memperoleh data afektif dan psikomotorik. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan anava tiga jalan dengan desain faktorial 2x2x2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : penggunaan metode eksperimen lapangan dan eksperimen laboratorium berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik siswa; ada pengaruh sikap peduli lingkungan  terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor; kreativitas verbal berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan  psikomotorik; ada interaksi antara metode dan sikap peduli lingkungan terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif,  dan psikomotorik siswa; tidak ada interaksi antara metode dan kreativitas terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif,  dan psikomotorik siswa; ada interaksi antara sikap peduli lingkungan  dengan kreativitas verbal terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor, tidak ada interaksi antara metode, sikap peduli lingkungan, dengan kreativitas verbal terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif, afektif,  dan psikomotorik siswa. Kata Kunci: Science Technology Society, Eksperimen Lapangan, Eksperimen Laboratorium, Sikap Peduli Lingkungan, Kreativitas Verbal

Abstract

ABSTRAK Fenomena merosotnya nilai-nilai perilaku masyarakat yang diaktualisasikan melalui kecenderungan perilaku non-edukatif semakin memprihatinkan, seperti: kekerasan, anarkhis, pornografi, korupsi, aksi terorisme, hingga berbagai modus kejahatan melalui sistem teknologi informasi. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa upaya pembangunan karakter melalui pengembangan nilai-nilai etika yang diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah belum berhasil, masih banyak guru di berbagai jenjang pendidikan mengajar biologi dengan metode ceramah, tekstual dan kurang berbasis proses ilmiah. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya karena pemahaman guru yang kurang benar terhadap biologi itu sendiri, akibatnya biologi belum diajarkan sesuai dengan hakikat pembelajarannya yang mengacu pada proses dan produk melainkan hanya sebagai produk (content).Pembelajaran biologi berbasis keterampilan proses merupakan pembelajaran yang mengembangkan berbagai keterampilan seperti: mengamati (observation), mengelompokkan (classification), menafsirkan (interpretation), meramalkan (prediction), mengajukan pertanyaan (question), berhipothesis (hipothesis), melakukan percobaan (experiment), mengkomunikasikan hasil percobaan (communication), sehingga peserta didik dapat memiliki pengalaman beraktivitas yang melibatkan keterampilan kognitif (minds on), keterampilan manual atau psikomotor (hands on) dan keterampilan sosial (hearts on). Melalui pembelajaran biologi berbasis keterampilan proses diharapkan dapat dikembangkan berbagai sikap ilmiah seperti: kesabaran, kejujuran, ketelitian, rasa tenggang rasa, dll., yang merupakan modal dasar dalam membangunan karakter peserta didik.  Namun, menerapkan pembelajaran biologi berbasis keterampilan proses memerlukan dukungan kesiapan guru, baik dalam menentukan strategi maupun instrumen pembelajarannya.        Kata kunci: Pembelajaran biologi berbasis keterampilan proses, sikap ilmiah, karakter peserta didik.
