Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) whether or not there is a significant effect of the learning process on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009; (2) whether or not there is a significant effect of the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009; and (3) whether or not there is a simultaneous effect of the learning process and the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009.            This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of the research was all of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009. The samples of the research were taken by using the total sampling technique, and consisted of all of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire. They were then statistically analyzed by using the multiple correlation and regression technique analysis.            The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of the learning process on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009 as indicated by the value of rcount = 0.532 > that of rtable = 0.329; (2) there is a significant effect of the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009 as shown by the value of rcount = 0.527 > that of rtable = 0.329; and (3) there is a simultaneous effect of the learning process and the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009 as pointed out by the value of Fcount = 12. 529 > that of Ftable = 3.285 at the significance level of 5%. In addition, the results of the research also show that the multiple linear regression equation is ? = 38.300 + 0.199 X1 + 0.558 X2, meaning that the development of soft skills of the students of the Office Administration Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the class of 2009 will increase or decrease as much as 0. 199 if there is an increase or a decrease of one unit of the learning process and will increase or decrease as much as 0.558 if there is an increase or a decrease of one unit of the practical work program (apprenticeship). Each independent variable has a contribution to the dependent variable. The relative contribution of the learning process on the development of soft skills of the students is 50.60%, and that of the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students is 49.40%. Furthermore, the effective contribution of the learning process on the development of soft skills of the students is 21.84%, and that of the practical work program (apprenticeship) on the development of soft skills of the students is 21.32%. Keywords:        learning process, practical work program (apprenticeship), development of soft skills.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the factors which affect the employment preparedness of the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar; (2) the constraints of the employment preparedness encountered by the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar; and (3) the efforts taken to deal with the constraints of the employment preparedness of the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar.  This research used the qualitative research method with the single embedded case study. The subjects of the research were the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar in Academic Year 2011/2012. The data sources of the research were informants, events, documents and archives. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, observation, questionnaire, and content analysis and were validated by using the data source triangulation. They were then analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis.   The results of the research are as follows: (1) the factors which affect the employment preparedness of the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar include (a) their learning motivations, (b) their field practices, (c) their vocational guidance, (d) their parents? economic backgrounds, (e) their former learning achievement, and (f) job information; (2) the constraints which affect the employment preparedness of the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar comprise (a) motivation constraints, (b) field practice constraints, (c) vocational guidance constraints, (d) family economic background constraints, (e) learning achievement constraints, and (f) job information dissemination; and (3) the efforts taken by the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar to deal with the constraints of their employment preparedness take account of improving learning quality, bearing self-motivation, seeking capital support, and actively looking for job information. The efforts taken by the school to deal with the constraints of the employment preparedness of the students in Grade XII of Wikarya High Vocational School of Karanganyar are having cooperation with companies, establishing cooperation with PJTKI, delivering motivations and directions to the students, disseminating job information to the students, improving the facilities and infrastructures of the school, and improving the quality of education at the school.Keywords:        Vocational High School, employment preparedness.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara variabel-varibel yang hendak diteliti.  Objek dari penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI kelompok bisnis dan manajemen SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta yang berjumlah 66 siswa. Data didapatkan melalui kuesioner dan observasi. Data tersebut dihitung dan dianalisis menggunakan asumsi klasik melalui SPSS. Hasil dari penelitian adalah ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara variabel pembelajaran kewirausahaan dan minat berwirausaha, ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara lingkungan keluarga dan minat berwirausaha, dan ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara pembelajaran kewirausahan dan lingkungan keluarga secara bersama-sama terhadap minat berwirausaha. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara pembelajaran kewirausahaan dan lingkungan keluarga terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XI kelompok bisnis dan manajemen SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to know the implementation of office supplies management of PMI Kota Surakarta, the problems, and the solutions to overcome that problems. Used a qualitative approach, the result of research showed that PMI Kota Surakarta implemented the functions of office supplies management to managed their supplies. But, in the practice, got problems with limited human resources and too many functions of warehouse and office management. The efforts to overcome those problems included : empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students and Household employees, coping with over functions by asking for help from other staff and by holding training concerning the instrument use and maintenance, coping with the narrow warehouse and its location in the same room with the office by utilizing the existing vertical room, coping with supply release that was not consistent with the predetermined method by guiding activity accurately and rechecking immediately the stock recording and supply, coping with Staff of Logistic and Inventory division who did not have time to rearrange the warehouse after supply releasing by empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students, coping with virus problem delayed data finding and making report by calling the officers to scan the virus, and coping with roof damage by temporarily solution by putting a rainwater container.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of the teacher?s pedagogical competency on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013;  (2) the effect of the learning facility on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013; and (3) the simultaneous effect of  the teacher?s pedagogical competency and the learning facility on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013. This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of the research of the students in Grades XI and XII as many as 150. The samples of the research were 108 students. The samples were taken by using the stratified random sampling technique based on the table of Krejcie-Morgan with the error level of 5 %. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed by using the multiple linear regression analysis aided by the computer program of SPSS 17.The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of the teacher?s pedagogical competency on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012-2013 as indicated by the value of rcount= 0.443 > that of rtable = 0.187; (2) there is a significant effect of the learning facility on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012-2013; as shown by the value of rcount = 0.427> rtable = 0.187); and (3) there is a simultaneously significant effect of  the teacher?s pedagogical competency and the learning facility on the learning achievement in Operating-the-Software-Application subject matter of the students of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012-2013 as pointed out by the value of Fcount = 24.736 >Ftable = 3.083 Keywords:        Teacher?s pedagogical competency, learning facility, learning achievement, and software application.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to (1) determine the direct influence of economic conditions of the learning outcomes of students in SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012, (2) determine the direct influence of motivation on learning outcomes of students in SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011 / 2012, (3) determine the direct influence of learning style on learning outcomes of students in SMK Murni 2 Surakarta academic year 2011/2012, (4) determine the effect of indirect economic conditions of the learning outcomes of students with learning styles in SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011 / 2012, (5) determine the effect of indirect motivation on learning outcomes of students with learning styles in SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The results of this study were (1) there is a direct influence on the economic conditions of student learning outcomes, (2) there is a direct effect of motivation on learning outcomes, (3) there is a direct influence of learning style on learning outcomes, (4) there is an indirect effect of condition family income on student learning outcomes through learning styles, and (5) there is an indirect effect of motivation on learning outcomes through learning styles. Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the significant effect of learning facility on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014; (2) the significant effect of interpersonal communication between teachers and students on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014; and (3) the simultaneously significant effect of learning facility and interpersonal communication between teachers and students on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014. This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. Its population was all of the students as many as 72 persons in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014. The samples of the research consisted of 42 students, and they were taken by means of proportional random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were analyzed by using the multiple regression analysis aided with the computer program of SPSS 17. The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of learning facility on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014 as indicated by the value of tcou­nt = 2.447 which is greater than that of ttable = 2.023; (2) there is a significant effect of  interpersonal communication between teachers and students on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014 as indicated by the value of tcount = 2.441 which is greater than that of ttable = 2.023; and (3) there is a simultaneously significant effect of learning facility and interpersonal communication between teachers and students on learning achievement of the students in Grade XI of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2013/2014 as signified by the value of Fcount = 8.270 which is greater than that of Ftable = 3.238. The regression equation of research is ? = 5.456 + 0.011 X1 + 0.023 X2. The relative contribution of learning facility (X1) is 50.73%, and that of interpersonal communication between teachers and students (X2) is 49.25%. The effective contribution of learning facility is 15.12%, and that of interpersonal communication between teachers and students is 14.67%.Keywords:    Learning facility, interpersonal communication between teachers and students, and learning achievement

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate : (1) the significant effect of implementation of personnel transfers on the job satisfaction in PT Deltomed Laboratories Wonogiri; (2) the significant effect of job characteristics on the job satisfaction in PT Deltomed Laboratories Wonogiri; (3) the significant effect of implementation of personnel transfers and job characteristics on the job satisfaction in PT Deltomed Laboratories Wonogiri. This research used the survey quantitative research method. This research used the survey quantitative research method. Its population was all functional employees of PT Deltomed Laboratories on Wonogiri as many as 115 persons. The samples of the research consisted of 53 persons. They were taken by using the proportionate random sampling technique. The result of this research shows that implementation of personnel transfers and job characteristics simultaneously affect on the job satisfaction. Implementation of personnel transfers has a positive effect toward the job satisfaction. So that, a good implementation of personnel transfers will lead to increasing job satisfaction. It happens also in job characteristics which gives positive effect on job satisfaction, so improvement of job characteristics will lead to high job satisfaction.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the significant effect of the teacher?s communication with students on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013; (2) the significant effect of the parental guidance on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013; and (3) the significant effect of the teacher?s communication with students and the parental guidance on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013.This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. Its population was all of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013 as many as 84 students. The samples of the research were 46 students and were taken by using the proportional random sampling. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed by using the multiple regression analysis aided with the computer program of SPSS 17.The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of the teacher?s communication with students on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013 as indicated by the value of r count = 0.568 > that of rtable = 0.291; (2) there is a significant effect of the parental guidance on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013 as shown by the value of r count = 0.491 > that of rtable = 0.291; and (3) there is a a simultaneously significant effect of the teacher?s communication with students and the parental guidance on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X of Vocational High School Murni 2 Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013 as pointed out by the value of F count = 18.992 > that of rtable = 3.214. The regression equation is ? = 7.887 + 0.705 X1 + 0.430 X2. The relative contribution of the teacher?s communication with the students (X1) is 59.11%, and the relative contribution of the parental guidance (X2) is 40.89%. In addition, the effective contribution of the teacher?s communication with the students (X1) is 27.72%, and the effective contribution of the parental guidance (X2) is 19.18%. Keywords:     The teacher?s communication with the students, parental guidance, and learning motivation.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are investigate: (1) the effect of school infrastructure on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013, (2) the effect of teacher competency on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013, and (3) the effect of school infrastructure and teacher competency on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013.This study employed descriptive quantitative research method. The population of research was all of XI graders of Office Administration Specialty Program in state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013, consisting of 80 students. Method of collecting data used was questionnaireand documentation technique. Technique of analyzing data used was multiple regression analysis with analysis prerequisite tests including normality, linearity and independency tests.The result of the research are as follows (1) There is a significant effect of school infrastructure on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013. It was indicated by rstatistic > rtable values or 0.544 > 0.284 at significance level of 5%. The relative contribution was 50.24% and effective one was 24.53%. (2) There is a significant effect of teacher competency on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013. It was indicated by rstatistic > rtable values or 0.542 > 0.284 at significance level of 5%. The relative contribution was 49.76% and effective one was 24.29%. (3) There is a significant effect of school infrastructure and teacher competency on student competency in conducting On The Job Training in the XI Grade of state vocational high school 1 Karanganyar in the school year of 2012/2013, because Fstatistic > Ftable or 21.466 > 4,043 at significance level of 5%.From the result of calculation, it could be obtained the linear regression equation ? = 12.309 + 0.290 X1 + 0.319 X2, thus, it could be concluded that the student competency in conducting on the job training (Y) will increase or decrease of 0.290 for every unit increase or decrease in school infrastructure (X1) and will increase or decrease of 0.319 for every unit increase or decrease in teacher competency (X2).Keywords: school infrastructure, teacher competency, On The Job Training.
