Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) whether there is influence of the leadership toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta; 2) whether there is influence of the working environment toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta; 3) the influences of the leadership and working environment toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta.This research is designed as quantitative research with descriptive method. The population of this research is the whole employees, 80 people, of the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta. The sample taken was 60% of the entire population or 50 employees. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling while the data collection method applied is questionnaire. The data analysis technique in this research is statistic test using correlation and multiple regression analysis. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there is significant influence of the leadership toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta; 2) there is significant influence of the working environment toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta; 3) there is significant influence of the leadership and the working environment simultaneously toward the employees job satisfaction in the Department of Education Youth and Sports Surakarta.Keywords: leadership, working environment, job satisfaction

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of research was to improve the learning interest in Communication Course using Prezi Software in the XI AP 2 Graders of SMK Murni 2 of Surakarta in the School Year of 2012/2013.This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research object was the XI AP 2 graders of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta consisting of 22 students. This study was conducted in the collaboration between class teacher and  researcher, and by involving the students. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, documentation, interview, and questionnaire. The research procedure included: (1) problem identification, (2) action preparation, (3) action plan arrangement, (4) action implementation, (5) observation, and (6) report writing. This research process was conducted in two cycles, each of which consisted of four stages: (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing and interpreting, and (4) analyzing and reflecting. Each cycle was conducted in four meetings; each cycle had 6 x 45 minutes duration.Considering the result of research conducted, it could be concluded that the application of prezi software use could improve the learning interest in Communication Course in the XI AP 2 Graders of SMK Murni 2. It was reflected on the following indicators: (1) the students? enjoyment in attending the learning increased from 41.82% before treatment to 62.73% after first treatment and to 88.41% after second treatment, (2) the students? interest in attending the learning increased from 43.64% before treatment to 63.18% after first treatment and to 86.59% after second treatment, (3) the students? attention in attending the learning increased from 47.73% before treatment to 62.50% after first treatment and to 85.45% after second treatment, and (4) the students? involvement in attending the learning increased from 55.23% before treatment to 66.14% after first treatment and to 88.18% after second treatment. Such the increase occurred after the teacher took the following attempts : (1) the teacher had been able to operate, to develop and to apply well the prezi software in learning, and (2) the teacher realized the need for making an evaluation on the learning process in order to cope with the weaknesses and to prevent them from reoccurring in the next learning process. Keyword         :  Communication Course, Prezi software, Interest in learning

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) whether or not of the learning facilities on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the accdemic year 2012/2013 (Y); (2) whether or not of the learning motivation on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the academic year 2012/2013 (Y); and (3) whether or not the simultaneusly effect of the effect learning facilities and the learning motivation on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the academic year 2012/2013 (Y) as many as 72 students. The samples of the research consisted of 44 students or 60% of the total number of students in class X of the school. They were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation and were then analyzed by using the multiple linear regression technique of analysis. The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant of the learning facilities (X1) on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the academic year 2012/2013 (Y); (2) there is a significant of the learning motivation (X2) on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the academic year 2012/2013 (Y); and (3) there is a simutaneusly significant of the learning facilities (X1) and that of the learning motivation (X2) on the learning achievement of the computer skill and managing information of X class students of the office administration skill program of the state vocational high school 1 of Sukoharjo in the academic year 2012/2013 (Y). The relative contribution of the learning facilities (X1) on the learning achievement (Y) is 21.73%, and that of the learning motivation (X2) on the learning achievement (Y) is 78.27%. The effective contribution of the learning facilities (X1) on the learning achievement (Y) is 1693%, and that of the learning motivation (X2) on the learning achievement (Y) is 60,97%.

Abstract

Abstract : The objective of this research is to investigate whether or not there is an effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency and their occupational stress on their performance in the year of 2012. The samples of this research consisted of 42 employees, and were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data were then analyzed by using the  multilinear regression analysis technique.The results of this research are as follows: (1) there is a significant positive effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency on their performance in the year of 2012; (2) there is a significant negative effect of the occupational stress of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency on their performance in the year of 2012; (3) there is a simultaneous significant positive effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency and their occupational stress on their performance in the year of 2012.Keyword: organizational commitment, occupational stress, performance

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of the teacher teaching variation on the Student Learning Motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013, (2) the effect of the learning environment on the Student Learning Motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013, and (3) the effect of the teacher teaching variation and learning environment simultaneously on the Student Learning Motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013.This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of the research was all of XI graders of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono in Academic Year 2012/2013 as many as 287. The sample was taken using proportional random sampling consisting of 72 students. Method of collecting data used. Meanwhile, technique of analyzing data used was  multiple regression analysis with the analysis of the prerequisite test normality, linearity, and independence test.The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of teacher teaching variation on the student learning motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013. It could be seen from the rcount > rtable value or 0.502 > 0.232 at significance level of 5%. The relative contribution of 41.99% and effective contribution of 20.97%.  (2) there is a significant effect of learning environment on the student learning motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013. It could be seen from the rcount > rtable value or 0.574 > 0.232 at significance level of 5%. The relative contribution of 58.01% and effective contribution of 28.98%. (3) there is a significant effect of teacher teaching variation and learning environment simultaneously on the Student Learning Motivation in the XI Grade of State Vocational High School 1 of Banyudono In Academic Year 2012/2013, because Fcount > Ftable or 34.429 > 3.13 at significance level of 5%.The statistical analysis shows that the regression equation is ?= -33.763 + 0.582 X1 + 0,516X2, so that it could be concluded that the student learning motivation (Y) will increase or decrease by 0.581 for each increase or decrease of one unit teacher teaching variation (X1) and by 0.516 for that of one unit learning environment (X2). Keywords: teacher teaching variation, learning environment, learning motivation

Abstract

ABSRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) how Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city plays his leadership role in growing the discipline behavior of its employees; (2) what constraints are encountered by Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city in internalizing the discipline of its employees; and (3) what solutions are taken by Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office to deal with the prevailing constraints to the materialization of the discipline behavior of its employees. This research used the qualitative embedded single case study method.The results of the research are as follows: 1) Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city plays his leadership role through the discipline behavior internalizations such as: (a) giving exemplification through discipline attitude; (b) giving motivation to the employees; (c) attempting to fulfill their needs and prosperity; and (d) implementing the discipline upholding consistently. 2) The constraints occurring in nurturing the discipline of the employees of Jebres Sub-district Office are as follows: (a) internal constraints: some employees bear the characters and personalities which are apathetic to advices, and some are lack of responsibilities in executing their duties and work and (b) external constraints: the external constraints occurring in internalizing the discipline of the employees of Jebres Sub-district Office are mainly related to the work environment. 3) The prevailing constraints occurring in internalizing the discipline of the employees are as follows: (a) upholding the prevailing laws and regulations and nurturing the employees; and (b) maintaining the communication and good relations among the employees.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is, 1) to determine the use of facebook as a medium supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology on program Sociology Anthropology of Education Program in 2012, 2) To know the benefits of facebook as a medium supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology Education Program Sociology Anthropology in 2012, 3) To determine the barriers and the efforts to handle the media supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology on program Sociology Anthropology Educational Studies academic year 2012.This study used a qualitative approach and study research. The data source is the informant, place and events, archives, respondents, and document analysis. The sampling technique used was snowball sampling. Method of collecting the data is interviews and documentation analysis. The validity of data using triangulation data (source), while the analysis of the data using interactive analysis.Based on the analysis it can be concluded: (1) Implementation of the Learning Activities by Leveraging Social Media Facebook as a Learning Support. Facebook is not only used as a medium of support but also be used in full for one semester, as a lecturer abroad. Facebook is used as a medium for distance learning because almost all students use facebook. Facebook is used for communication between faculty and students and among students to discuss courses, announcing assignments and exams so that all members can see all the information on group. 2) Excellence in Learning by Using Facebook as a Media Support Distance Learning: a) Increasing levels of interaction between students with learning educators, b) Enables the interaction of learning from anywhere and at any time, c) Reaching learners in coverage, d) Increasing activity in the learning activities. 3) Obstacles in Learning Using Facebook as a Media Support Distance Learning: a) The difference in speed access and delays with predetermined targets, b) error application, c) Lack of character, d) inadequate facilitiesTo cope with such the. From the above it can be an obstacle in efforts to minimize these barriers is to: a) The material should be concise and clear, and not too much, b) provide respite deadlines and provide confirmation.

ABSTRACTYulia Wahyu Andika, THE EFFECT OF SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE AVAILABILITY AND LEARNING SPATIAL LAYOUT ON LEARNING INTERESTS IN THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATIONS DEPARTMENT STUDENTS OF SMK MURNI 2 SURAKARTA IN SCHOOL YEAR OF 2013/2014, Skripsi : Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, June 2014.The objective of this research was to find out: (1) how much was the effect of school infrastructure availability on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014, (2) how much was the effect of learning spatial layout on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014, and (3) how much was the effect of school infrastructure availability and learning spatial layout on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014.This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of research was all of Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014 consisting of 64 students. The sample consisted of 39 students. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling. Meanwhile, techniques of collecting data used were questionnaire and documentation. Technique of analyzing data used was statistical test with correlation and multiple regression analyses.Considering the result of data analysis, it could be concluded that: (1) there was a significant effect by 0,003 of school infrastructure availability on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014, (2) there was a significant effect by 0,005 of learning spatial layout on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014, and (3) there was a significant effect by 0,001 of school infrastructure availability and learning spatial layout on learning interests in the Office Administrations Department students of SMK Murni 2 Surakarta in School Year of 2013/2014. The multiple linear regression was ?=29.432 + 0.429 X1 + 0.235 X2. The relative contribution (X1) to (Y) was 53.46% and that of (X2) to (Y) was 46.54%. Meanwhile the effective contribution of (X1) to (Y) was 18.12% and that of (X2) to (Y) was 15.78%.Keywords: school infrastructure, learning spatial layout, and learning interest.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of research is to find out the implementation of labor division in improving the effectiveness of employee performance in Human Resource Division of PT. Pos Indonesia Surakarta in 2010/2011. This research employed a qualitative approach, descriptive method, and single embedded research strategy. The sampling techniques used were purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Techniques of collecting data used were interview, observation, and documentation. The data validation was done using data and method triangulation. Technique of analyzing data used was an interactive model of analysis one. Considering the result of research, it can be concluded The implementation of labor division in Human Resource Division of PT. Pos Indonesia Surakarta in 2010/2011 includes a labor division implementation time. The labor division is carried out when the work exists, both routine and incidental works. A STUDY OF SATISFACTION OF THE APPRENTICE USERS OF STUDENTS OF  ECONOMICS EDUCATION SPECIAL EXPERTISE FIELD OFFICE ADMINISTRATION EDUCATION OF TEACHER TRAINING AND EDUCATION FACULTY OF SURAKARTA SEBELAS MARET UNIVERSITY IN 2014. Skripsi: The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, July 2014.The objectives of this research are: (1) to investigate the satisfaction of  the users of apprentices toward the competency of the students of Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, 2014; (2) to describe the constraints encountered in the implementation of Apprenticeship Program of Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University; (3) to describe solutions taken to deal with the problems in the implementation of Apprenticeship Program of Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University; and (4) to investigate the abilities that that should be prepared so as to reach apprenticeship competencies of the Economics education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University.The results of the research are as follows: 1) the users of apprentices are satisfied with the competency of the students of Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University in 2014 as indicated by the following: a) The students professional competency of the students has been good, as reflected by their good competency in assignment comprehension ability, dexterity in completing their tasks, and creativities in accomplishing their tasks. However, there is a less good sub-competency, namely: the decision-making sub-competency, b) The personal competency has been good as reflected by their competencies of thinking maturity, responsibility in executing their tasks, honesty, autonomy, good work discipline, work enthusiasm, high initiative, and ability to maintain attitudes and ethics. c) The social competency has been good as reflected by the ability to conduct oral and non-oral communications, ability to work together with employees, and ability to develop a good work condition. Yet, the competencies on the ability to adapt with work environment still need to be improved. 2) The constraints encountered in the implementation of the Apprenticeship Program of the Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta are divided into two, namely: a) from the side of the students: personal competency constraints, the students? lack of preparation, the students? difficulty to adapt with the work environment, the students? low communication ability, and boredom experienced by the students and b) from the side of the users of apprentices: the busyness of employees, the limited office space, and difference of work characteristics. 3) The solutions taken to deal with the constraints in the implementation of of the Apprenticeship Program of the Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta are as follows: (a) from the side of the students: conducting autonomous learning, being more responsive and active, doing a good approach to the employees, maintaining communication to the users of apprentices, and discussing work rotations with other divisions; and (b) from the side of the users of apprenticeship: giving opportunities to the students to raise questions, shared work table with students, and motivating the students. 4) The abilities that shall be prepared to reach the work competencies of apprentices of the Economics Education, the Special Expertise Field of Office Administration, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta include: abilities to do correspondence and to handle documents, intellectual and physical abilities, abilities to master office technology, and abilities to master applied competencies. Keywords: Satisfaction of the users, apprenticeship, and competency
