Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency; (2) the factors influencing the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency; and (3) the efforts taken to improve the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency.This research used a single embedded case study with the qualitative method. The sources of the research were informants, locations, documents or archives. The samples of the research were taken by using the purposive sampling technique and the snowball sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation and were then validated by using the data source and data gathering method triangulations. They were analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis.The results of the research show that the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office in extending services to the community in Karanganyar regency has not been optimal for the community feels less satisfied with the services in terms of the timeliness and comfort of services. Such a performance is due to the limited number of its employees and their low ability in the computerization system. The factors affecting the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency include (1) work motivation of the employees, (2) ability of the employees, and (3) facility and infrastructure. The efforts taken so as to improve the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency are, among others, highly motivating and encouraging the employees to perform better through punishment and reward system. The employees shall be given training on computerization system. The facility and infrastructure shall be added in terms of quantity and completeness. Keywords: Performance and services to community.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims at investigating whether or not there is: (1) an influence between organization communication toward the working productivity of RSUD employees in 2013, (2) an influence between human resource supervision toward working productivity of RSUD employees in 2013, and (3) an influence between organization communication and human resource supervision toward the working productivity of RSUD Kudus employees in 2013.In relation to its problems and objectives, the research design is descriftive quantitative. The number of the population of the research is 251, and the samples are 45% that is 126 respondents taken by using probability technique of simple random sampling. Moreover, the techniques of collecting data for variable of organization communication (X1), human resource supervision (X2), and employees? working productivity are questionnaire and documentasion technique. Statistics test of multiple regression correlation analysis is used to test the research hypothesis.Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that: (1) there is a significant influence between organization communication toward the working productivity of RSUD employees in 2013. (2) there is a significant influence between human resource supervision toward working productivity of RSUD employees in 2013. (3) there is a significant influence between organization communication and human resource supervision toward the working productivity of RSUD Kudus employees in 2013.Keywords: communication, supervision, working productivity

Abstract

Abstract: Leadership Styles and Work Motivation Toward Employees Performance. The purpose of study are: investigating effect between leadership styles and work motivation toward employees performance. The type of study conducted by the researcher is quantitative research with descriptive method. Sampling technique is by using proportional random sampling technique. While the data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques are by using correlation and multiple regression analysis. Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the significant effect of teachers? pedagogic competency on student skill in ?managing document duplication?course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014; (2) the significant effect of laboratory facility on student skill in ?managing document duplication?course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014; (3) the significant effect of teachers? pedagogic competency and laboratory facility on student skill in ?managing document duplication?course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014.The research used the descriptive quantitative method. The population of research was the eleventh graders of State  Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar consisting of 96 students, with 54 students as the sample. Technique of collecting data used was questionnaire with likert scale and documentation of psychomotor aspect score. Technique of analyzing data used was a multiple linear regression analysis.From the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) there was an effect of teachers? pedagogic competency on the student skill in ?Managing document duplication? course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State  Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014; (2) there was an effect of laboratory facility on the student skill in ?Managing document duplication? course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State  Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014; (3) there was an effect of teachers? pedagogic competency and laboratory facility simultaneously on the student skill in ?Managing document duplication? course in the Eleventh Grade of Office Administration Skill Competency of State  Vocational High School of Wikarya Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014. In this research, it was reported that the linear regression equation was  ? = 5.008 + 0.038 X1 + 0.050 X2. It meant that the average student skill (Y) increased or decreased by 0.038 for each unit of increase or decrease in teachers? pedagogic competency (X1) and increased or decreased by 0.050 for each unit of increase or decrease in laboratory facility (X2). The contributions of individual variables were: (1) relative contribution of 44.5% and effective contribution of 28.66% for teachers? pedagogic competency (X1) to student skill (Y) variables; and (2) relative contribution of 55.49% and effective contribution of 35.74% for laboratory facility (X2) to student skill (Y) variables.Keywords: teachers? pedagogic competency, laboratory facility, student skill

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to : ( 1) Determine whether there is a significant correlation between students' personal character with a class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014 . ( 2) Determine whether there is a significant correlation between the students' interest in reading with a class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014. ( 3 ) Determine whether there is a significant correlation between students? personal character and the students' interest in reading with a class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014.This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method . The population in this study was a class XI student of SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Academic Year 2013/2014 . The sampling technique used in this study is proportional random sampling , a total of 43 students or 15 % of the number of students in each class consists of 8 classes . Data collection techniques is by using questionnaires and documentation . Analysis of the data used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis techniques .With the results of multiple linear equation ? = 6.75 + 0.016 X1 + 0.0054 X2. Based on the results of this study concluded that : ( 1 ) There is a significant relationship between students' personal character with a class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo school year 2013/2014 . This is evident from the results of the regression analysis obtain rstat > rtable or 0.3268 > 0.304 at a significance level of 5 % . ( 2 ) There is a significant relationship between the students' interest in reading class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo school year 2013/2014 . This is evident from the results of the regression analysis obtain rstat > rtable or 0.3486 > 0.304 at a significance level of 5 % . ( 3 ) There is a significant relationship between students' personal character and reading interests of students with class XI student achievement SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo school year 2013/2014 . This is evident from the results of the regression analysis obtain Fstat > Ftable or 11.438 > 3.23 at the 5 % significance level . The relative contribution of the student's personal character ( X1 ) on student achievement ( Y ) of 72.44 % and the relative contribution of students' reading interests ( X2 ) on student achievement ( Y ) of 27.56 % . For the effective contribution of the student's personal character ( X1 ) on student achievement ( Y ) of 26.35 % . Effective contribution interest in reading ( X2 ) students on student achievement ( Y ) of 10.03 % .

Abstract

The objectives of research are: (1) to find out whether or not there is a significant positive correlation between internal organization conflicts and work performance of the PT. Telkom Surakarta?s employees, (2) to find out whether or not there is a significant positive correlation between company compensation and work performance of the PT. Telkom Surakarta?s employees, and (3) to find out whether or not there is a significant positive correlation between internal organization conflict and company compensation with work performance of the PT. Telkom Surakarta?s employees.This study employed a quantitative research approach with a correlational descriptive method. The population of research was all employees of PT. Telkom Surakarta Office consisting of 96 employees. The sampling technique used in this research was random sampling one, taking 58 employees or 60% of population number. Techniques of collecting data used were questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis was done using a multiple linear regression analysis technique.Considering the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) there was a positive significant correlation of Internal Organization Conflict variable (X1) and the Employee Work Performance in Human Resource (HR) department of PT. Telkom Surakarta, (2) there was a positive significant correlation of Company compensation variable (X2) and the Employee Work Performance in Human Resource (HR) department of PT. Telkom Surakarta, and (3) there was a positive significant correlation between Internal Organization Conflict (X1) and Company compensation (X2) variables simultaneously with the Employee Work Performance in Human Resource (HR) department of PT. Telkom Surakarta.The relative contribution of Internal Organizational Conflict (X1) to the employee work performance (Y) was 42.61%, the relative contribution of company compensation (X2) to the employee work performance (Y) was 57.39%, the effective contribution of Internal Organizational Conflict (X1) to the employee work performance (Y) was 19.70%, the effective contribution of company compensation (X2) to the employee work performance (Y) was 26.54%.Keywords: Internal Conflict Compensation, Employee Performance.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) whether or not there is a significant effect of the professional competency of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013; (2) whether or not there is a significant effect of the work motivation of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013; and (3) whether or not there is a simultaneously significant effect of the professional competency  and the work motivation of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013. This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of the research was all of the teachers of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo as many as 56 teachers. The samples of the research consisted of 36 teachers and were taken by using the simple random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire. They were then statistically analyzed by using the correlation and multiple linear regression analyses.  The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of the professional competency of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013 as indicated by the value of rcount = 0.493 > that of rtable = 0.329 at the significance level of 5%; (2) there is a significant effect of the work motivation of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013 as shown by the value of rcount = 0.482 > that of rtable = 0.329 at the significance level of 5%; and (3) there is a simultaneously significant effect of the professional competency  and the work motivation of the teachers on the learning result of the students of State Vocational High School 1 of Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2012/2013 as pointed out by the value of Fcount = 9.795 > that of Ftable = 3.285 at the significance level of 5%. The multiple linear regression equation is ? = 41.344 + 0.251 X1 + 0.223 X2. The simultaneous contribution of the independent variables to the dependent variable (R2) is 37.3%. The relative contribution of the professional competency of the teachers to the learning result of the students is 51.61%, and that of the work motivation of the teachers on the learning result of the students is 48.39%. In addition, the effective contribution of the professional competency of the teachers to the learning result of the students is 19.23%,  and that of the work motivation of the teachers to the learning result of the students is 18.02%. Keywords: Professional, work motivation, and learning result. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan  kompetensi profesional guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013; (2) ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi kerja guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013; (3) ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan kompetensi profesional dan motivasi kerja guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Meliputi seluruh guru SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo sejumlah 56 guru. Sampel yang diambil sejumlah 36 guru. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan tehnik simple random sampling. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tehnik angket. Tehnik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji statistik dengan analisis korelasi dan regresi ganda.Hasil dari penelitian ini sebagai berikut: (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan  kompetensi profesional guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan nilai dari rhitung > rtabel atau 0,493 > 0,329 pada taraf signifikansi 5%; (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi kerja guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/ 2013. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan nilai dari rhitung > rtabel atau 0,482 > 0,329 pada taraf signifikansi 5%; (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kompetensi profesional dan motivasi kerja guru dengan hasil belajar siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai dari Fhitung > Ftabel atau 9,795 > 3,285 pada taraf signifikansi 5%.Persamaan regresi linier ganda ?= 41,344 + 0,251 X1 + 0,223 X2. Besarnya kontribusi variabel bebas secara bersama-sama terhadap variable terikat (R2) sebesar 37,3%. Sumbangan relatif kompetensi profesional guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 51,61% dan sumbangan relatif motivasi kerja guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 48,39%. Sedangkan sumbangan efektif kompetensi profesional guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 19,23% dan sumbangan efektif motivasi kerja guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 18,02%. Kata Kunci : profesional, motivasi kerja, hasil belajar

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate and describe: (1) the implementation of work placement conducted at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar; (2) the factors which support the implementation of the work placement at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar; (3) the factors which hamper the implementation of the work placement at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar; and the efforts taken to deal with the constraints in the implementation of the work placement at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar.This research used the descriptive embedded single case study with the qualitative approach. The sources of the data of the research were informants, places and events, documents, and archives. The samples of the research were taken by using the purposive-snowball sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. They were validated by using the data source and data gathering method triangulations, and were then analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis comprising data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing.The results of the research are as follows: 1) The implementation of work placement conducted at at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar has been fairly good. The work placement is done to the new and old employees. The former are exposed to orientation and training, whereas the old ones are exposed to promotion, mutation, and demotion. Such a work placement can improve the work productivity of the new and old employees. 2) The factors which support the implementation of the work placement at the limited liability company of PT. Hardo Soloplast Karanganyar include: (a) education, (b) work experiencce, and (c) health od the employees. With a good health, the work will run smoothly, and their work productivity will also increase. 3) The factors which inhibit the implementation of the work placement are the incompability among the employees, and the high rotation of the employees. 4) The efforts taken to deal with such constraints are conducting monthly togetherness program and improving the prosperity of the employees respectively.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the significant effect of learning activeness on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014; (2) the significant effect of field work practice on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014; and (3) the simultaneous effect of learning activeness and field work practice on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014.This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. Its population was all of the students as many as 77 in Grade XII of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2015. The samples of research consisted of 44 students. They were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data of research were collected through questionnaire and documentation. They were analyzed by using the multiple linear regression analysis aided with the computer program of SPSS17.The results of research are as follows: (1) the learning activeness has a significant effect on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014 as indicated by the value of tcount = 2.045 > that ttable = 1.682; (2) the field work practice has a significant effect on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014 as shown by the value of tcount = 3.737 > thatof ttable = 1.682; and (c) the learning activeness and field work practice have s simultaneously significant effect on the personal communication ability of the students in Grade XII of Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2014 as specified by the value of Fcount = 11.537 > that of Ftable = 3.230. The regression equation is ? = 6.064 + 0.216 X1 + 0.257 X2. The relative contribution of the learning activeness (X1) is 72.5%, and its effective contribution is 9.9%. Meanwhile, the relative contribution of the field work practice (X2) is 27.5%, and its effective contribution is 26.1%.

Abstract

The objective of research was to find out: (1) whether or not there is a significant effect of assignment learning method on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013; (2) whether or not there is a significant effect of learning media on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013; and (3) whether or not there is a significant effect of assignment learning method and learning media simultaneously on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013.This study was a quantitative research with descriptive method. The population of research was all X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013 consisting of 79 students. The sample consisted of 44 students. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling. Meanwhile technique of collecting data used was questionnaire and documentation technique. Technique of analyzing data used was statistic test with correlational and multiple regression analyses. Considering the result of data analysis, it could be concluded that (1) there was a significant effect of assignment learning method on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013; (2) there was a significant effect of learning media on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013; and (3) there was a significant effect of assignment learning method and learning media simultaneously on main handling course in the X graders of Office Administration Skill Competency in SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the school year of 212/2013.The multiple linear regression equation was ? = 50.929 + 0.293 X1 + 0.255 X2. The relative contribution of (X1) to (Y) was 53.72% and that of (X2) to (Y) was 46.28%. Meanwhile the effective contribution of (X1) to (Y) was 23.15% and that of (X2) to (Y) was 19.95%. Keywords: assignment learning method, learning media, and learning achievement
