Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mindmap-assisted process skills approach through lesson study in improving students’ learning outcomes This study uses qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The subjects of this study were students of class VB. Implementation of the lesson study cycle is carried out 13 times cycles, with details of the first lesson study model's eight cycles for the lesson study teacher and the next five cycles for the model teacher. The data collection instruments are the teachers’ learning implementation sheet and student worksheets to assess student learning outcomes in each cycle. Student learning outcomes in the implementation of lesson study by teacher model lecturers have the lowest average (54.0667) in the first LS cycle, while the highest average (71.7667) in the eighth LS cycle. So, it can be concluded that applying the mindmap-assisted process skills approach through lesson study can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difference in the average learning outcomes between pre-test and post-test, analyze the effect of HOTS training on teacher professional competence. This research method is quasi-experimental using a quantitative approach. The research sample was 35 elementary school teachers. Data collection in this study using the test method. The design used was one group pre-test post-test design which was analyzed using paired t-test. Hypothesis test results show that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes between the pre-test and post-test, there is a significant effect of HOTS training on the professional competence of teachers. There are still many variables that can be explored to further optimize the formation of policy framework models and theoretical frameworks to improve teacher professional competence.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the suitability of the HOTS-based learning process with the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 22 of 2016. This study is an evaluation study with Stake Countenance Models. Evaluation is carried out through evaluation stages, namely: Antecedent stage; Process Stage (transaction); and Outcomes stage. Respondents in this study were 98 people who were selected using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results showed that HOTS-based learning has not been fully achieved, namely for the implementation of HOTS in the 2013 curriculum in the incomplete category at 3%; a quite complete category at 9.44%; a complete category at 62.44%; and a very complete category at 25.11%. So, can be concluded that not all HOTS-based learning processes have been implemented suitable with the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 22 of 2016.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) and Somatic Auditory Visual and Intellectual (SAVI) learning models based on brain gym in an effort to improve student learning outcomes and retention. This study was experimental research with a Quasi-Experimental design. The population of this study totaling 62 people, using the BBL learning model for as many as 22 people and using the SAVI learning model for as many as 22 people. Data analysis used a t-test with SPSS for windows 22.0. The results showed that the average score of the pretest, posttest, and retest of the BBL class was greater than that of the SAVI class. The t-test analysis obtained a significance value of 0.026 <0.05 for learning outcomes and a significance value of 0.32 <0.05 for student retention. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes and retention in the BBL and SAVI learning models which affect learning outcomes and student retention in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of mathematics learning using a multimedia-assisted analogy approach in developing mathematical representation. The sample used was grade 7 students of two classes, totaling 44 students. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with randomized posttest only. Two classes were randomly selected as samples, namely class VII-1 as the experimental class and class VII-3 as the control class. The analysis was performed using the t-test at α = 5%, obtained t-count = 4.205> t-table = 2.018. The results indicate that the mathematical representation ability of students whose learning uses the analogy approach is significantly higher than students whose learning uses a conventional approach or in other words, the multimedia-assisted analogy approach can be used as alternative learning in developing student representation abilities especially in algebraic material.

Abstract

The unavailability of assessment instruments that accordance to the KKNI-based higher education curriculum is also the basis of the research. This study aims at producing an online assessment evaluation model design. The type of this research was Research and Development (R&D). The research subjects were information system study program students of the Universitas Dharmas Indonesia who took the Computer Networking course. The research data were obtained through validaty and practicality instrument and also observations. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the online authentic assessment evaluation model that has been designed can be implemented to improve learning competence. Based on descriptions and validations of each material expert, media expert, and learning expert, the results

Abstract

This study aims to describe the capacity of students' learning skills, provide and develop problem-solving learning skills, prepare appropriate modules that are used by students, and encourage counseling and learning development units. The method used in this action research is a qualitative research design. The research technique was carried out by using a case study approach and observation. The results showed that the students' mathematical abilities ranged from 26-50 (57.14%). Only 14% (11.43% + 2.86%) of AgtSP students have capacities in basic mathematics. Learning skills, for example, reading and writing, had lower AgtSP values, namely 37.14% and 34.29%. AgtSP is still dominated by Papuan students (86%) and a small proportion of non-Papuan students (14%). Many students enrolled in AgtSP graduated from Social Sciences (38%), some graduated from Agricultural High School (33%), and a few graduated from natural sciences 21%) and a small number of students graduated from Non. Agricultural Senior High School, namely administration interest. Student GPA has increased in the number of students who have GPA scores. 23 components affect student learning skills at the university level as experienced by AgtSP. The conclusion is the low scores obtained by mathematics, reading, and writing students enrolled in the Faculty.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the correlation between reading fondness and attitude toward science. The number of research samples was 145 students. The research method used is a mix of quantitative and qualitative instruments that are descriptive. Quantitative instrument data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and observations, qualitative instruments in the form of documentation and interviews. The statistical results of the attitude toward science variable, the average student chooses neutral in all indicators. The reading fondness variable of indicators general attitude towards reading and students' reading preferences average students chose neutral, the effect of reading on the ability of students chose to agree, and negative views of students towards reading chose not to agree. Based on the significance of 0.048 <0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a weak correlation between the attitude and reading variables.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development of students’ soft skills by using group-work methods in Cost Accounting learning. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart models. The researcher conducted this research during the Cost Accounting learning process. The process involved two classes consisting of a total of 59 students. In the process of collecting data, the researcher used observation, group discussion, and documentation methods. The researcher conducted a reflection phase to formulate the results. The results showed that the group-work method implemented in the Cost Accounting learning process can improve students’ soft skills in an Accounting Study Program. The finding of this study is the students like the active learning model conducted using the work-group method. Students also like the mentoring program. Through this mentoring, interpersonal relationships between students and lecturers can be established, so students are more motivated to follow the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes, and practice of teachers in disaster education in elementary schools. This study uses questionnaires distributed to teachers in disaster-prone schools. The data taken are age, gender, subjects taught, recent education, experience in disaster education training, knowledge level, attitude, and practice of disaster education. Respondents who have a good knowledge level are 51.5%, enough knowledge level is 39.4%, and less knowledge level is 9.1%. As many as 98.9% of respondents have a positive attitude and 1.1% have a negative attitude. There are 90.9% of respondents have ever taught and 9.1% have never taught disaster education. This study concludes that teachers of Elementary in disaster-prone schools generally have good knowledge of disaster education, agree that disaster education becomes part of the curriculum, and have taught disaster education to students.
