Abstract

Sweet potato is one of carbohydrat source to support the diversification food program. However, its productivity is still low and decreasing. It is caused by inefficiency in cultivation technique. The purposes of this research are to analyze farming revenue and to analyze factors affecting business and technical efficiency of sweet potato farming. Sampling method was conducted by proportional random sampling and the number of sample used was 30 people. The methods are revenue cost ration (R/C), break event point (BEP) and frontier production function estimated by MLE with Cobb-Douglas production function. The result shows cash revenue to cost ratio of 1.69 and total revenue to cost ratio of 1.23 which confirm the notion of efficient and lucrative. Price BEP is 772.60 rupiahs per kg and unit BEP is 15291.80 kg per hectare. The farming price and production are more than BEP which show profitability. Frontier production function shows all variables are significant and positive except N fertilizer. The results show farming efficiency index of 0.52 to 0.99 averaged on 0.75. One third respondents have efficiency index below 0.70. The results shows positive and significant correlation of farming experience, side job and land ownership to technical efficiency. Farmer’ age, education, revenue of non-farming activities and farming training/counseling have negative and non significant correlation.

Abstract

Prima Fresh Mart (PFM) is one of retails in the form of specialty store in Indonesia, which provides a wide variety of chicken product. This study about analyze the relation between atributes and PFM’s service quality and the relation between service quality with PFM’s customer satisfaction and loyalty; and formulate the managerial implication to impove the PFM’s customer satisfaction and loyalty. This study utilized Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis to evaluate how significant and strong the relation between the existing  variables. The result shows that tangible dimension is the most important variable that has the largest impact on customer satisfaction and loyality.PFM store’s atmosfer (X15) is the most important atribut to have the attention since it has the highest loading factor in tangible dimension. This means, X15 has the largest impact on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Products variance (X12) has the lowest loading factor since customer feels the products variance that PFM offers do not have much variance as other store offers. This caused X12 has the lowest impact on the customer satisfaction and loyality. On the other side, reliability dimension has the lowest loading factor which means the dimension needs to improve the atribut performance in order to increase the customer satisfaction.

Abstract

In the last ten years, the performance of Indonesia’s tea agribusiness has been decreased. It is shown by the decreasing of tea estate area by 2.18 percent per year, tea production decreased by 0.8 percent and export volume decreased by 1.07 percent per year. The Porter’s Diamond System analysis shows that the competitiveness of Indonesia’s tea agribusiness is still weak. The main component of Indonesia’s tea that supports each other are : 1) the resources factors with the domestic demand conditions, and also 2) the resources factors with the related and supporting industries. While in the supporting component, the government component only supports the resources factors component, and it’s clearly different with the chance component that supports all the main components. Finally, tea agribusiness development strategies in Indonesia was analyzed by using SWOT and Architecture Strategy, which were more directed to increase the performance of smallholders tea plantation by strengthening the role of farmer group and optimalizing the role of association. In the other hand, the strategies for government and private tea estate are more directed to increase the volume of production and product diversification which are important for improving the export oriented tea products. Other strategies that can be implied are 1) increasing the promotional activity and 2) spreading information about tea and its benefits to increase domestic tea consumption.

Abstract

Stimulus on export prices which applied in several industries will provide substantial incentives for the development of national industri. The extent of export price incentives to promote the industri became the main question of this study. In detail, the main objectives of this study include: analyzing industri export price volatility and its impact on the performance of the manufacturing sector. The analytical method used is ARCH-GARCH model and Recursive Dynamic CGE. The results confirm that the export price volatility of several industries tends to vary over time (time varying). The export price volatility of steel industri tends to be higher than other industries. Export price volatility generally provides positive impacts on industries that experienced increasing export prices, such as: animal vegetable oils, textile, and steel.
