TARBIYA: Journal of Education in Muslim Society is a peer-reviewed journal on education in the Muslim world. Abstract

Abstract: Education is defined as a planned effort to establish a study environment and education process so that the student may actively develop his / her own potential to gain the religious and spiritual level, consciousness, personality, intelligence, behavior and creativity to him / herself other citizens and for the nations. The ultimate goal of   every  teaching and learning process is the success of the students to acquire the knowledge of subject matter being taught and one of the key successes in gaining the teaching learning objective is the teacher role. In fact, there are several aspects in order that the teacher professionalism may take place. To put the teacher professionalism into reality, it is not just from the teacher individually, but the surrounding, communities and the system where the teachers works and belong to, will give influence to it. The development of teacher education in Indonesia cannot be separated from the development of education in Indonesia. Since the independence in 1945, Indonesia has committed to make education available to all Indonesians citizens. This is due to the constitutional commitment stated that all citizens have the rights to get an education and the government has the responsibility to implement a national education system. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1107

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the reasoning that transformation of IAIN to UIN can not release the expectation to do the integration of science and shake off dichotomy both Islam and science. The dichotomous of Islam and science appear in cosequence of the differences at the level of ontological, epistemological and axiological in religious sciences (Islam) and general sciences. In response to preliminary research and findings with respect to science integration in UIN, researchers assume to do comprehensive research to find out at analyzing the implementation of the integration of science in UIN throughout Indonesia, especially in the context of curriculum design and the learning process. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1108

Abstract

Abstract: Religious education required not only to provide a deep understanding of the religion, but rather should contribute to the community in shaping the character mulia. Many efforts had to meet these demands, but has not shown significant results. This study offers a learning model based on the character of religious education that is holistic noble, humane, and effective emansipatoric, with the steps: Modelling, reflecting, deep discussion, problem solving, socialization and authentic assessment. Based on the results of a descriptive qualitative study in Madrasah Development UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, it turns learning model has been implemented, and the results were quite effective in forming a noble character. MP UIN Jakarta, though not yet executed the systematic learning model and be consolidazed, but in fact it has brought learning outcomes that meet the expectations of society. Therefore such a learning model that needs to be strengthened and applied to other educational institutions. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1109

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims at formulating a model of the profile of teachers professionalism of excellent Islamic Primary School (IPS). The source of data of this research is obtained from six excelence IPS in South Jakarta that achieve score of accreditation A.This research is a non experimental research that uses survey method. The population of this research is all teachers in 15 Excelence IPS with the sample as much as 40% of the teachers. as many as 100 teachers. As for the sampling technique used in this research is simple random sampling with descriptive statistics. The result of this research shows that firstly the profile of professionalism of the teachers of excellent IPS in South Jakarta is indicated by adequate teachers competency in personality, pedagogy, professionalism, and social aspect. Secondly, at the dimension of learning community teachers have not fully showed self development as a part of learning community. Thirdly, at the financial dimension it is know that the teachers of especially State Islamic Primary Schools are willing to accept all the policy of reward system set by the goverment and their schools headmasters. Fourtly, the linearity of educational background with the teaching profession. Fifthly, there is no difference in average scores the characteristics of profile of teachers professionalism between Private Islamic Primary Schools and the State ones. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1110

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the effect of learning media based on Augmented Reality to learning outcome of students 10th grade on the concept particle dynamics. This research was done in 10th grade science class: 2 and 4 in SMA 67 Jakarta. The research was done in October-November 2013. The research method is a quasi experimental with a noneqiuvalent control group design and the sampling technique is purposive. Instruments of the research are test (multiple choices) and non test(questionnaire). Data were analyzed quantitatively using the t test, questionare analyzed qualitatively. The conclution : there is the influence of augmented reality-based instructional media on learning outcome of students grade 10th on the concept particle dynamics. Average learning outcome experiment group is higher than control group. The experimental group superior on cognitive level (C1-C4). Carrying capacity of the media Augmented Reality on the learning process had teacher done is excellent category (83.24 %). DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1111

Abstract

Abstract: ICT in education becomes a matter being discussed at this time. Arabic Language Learning as a part of a Foreign Language Learning is one of many aspect that influenced by ICT. Some researcher believe that ICT can solve some problematic of language learning. Arabic Language Learning has its own problems of non-linguistic that make some difficulties to the learner. Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to know learning process to increase elementary student learning outcomes in math study through problem solving method. The research also to find out the changing of learning outcomes after acting method. About twenty one students of SDN 22 Belopa the subject of this research. The research uses action research method by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which consist of four steps: (a) planning, (b) action, (c) observation, and (d) reflection. The data collecting techniques use field notes, documentations, and observation. This research also uses quantitative and qualitative analyses. The result of the research indicate that learning outcomes of math were improvements with using problem solving method after acting in learnig. The significant improvement was proved with the test of relsulting student from 66.6 % at the first cycle, and raising level 80.9% the second cycle. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1116

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted in order to find the teaching of history model that is integrated with the character of religious values ​​through values ​​clarification techniques. Given the results of the study are expected in the form of a draft model of learning, the study was conducted using the method of literature study. There are three points of major concern in this research. First, study the history of the learning materials that will be used as the basis for the development of the model at the same goal of learning, namely the material "Declaration of Independence and the Establishment of the Republic of Indonesia". Secondly, the study of the concept of didactic and methodical which allows to integrate historical material with the value and character of religion. In this case the researchers choose values ​​clarification techniques. Third, the study of religious values ​​that will be integrated in the teaching of history. In this case the value and character of the struggle, discipline in time, independent, strong stance, deliberation to reach consensus, and the unity and integrity. The process of analysis and synthesis of these components produce a learning model by integrating historical and religious character values ​​through values ​​clarification techniques. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1120

Abstract

Abstract: The priority issue in this study is the lack of reading comprehension ability of elementary students. One cause of this condition is emerging that reading comprehension is still ongoing learning monotonous and did not using authentic assessment. To improve the reading comprehension skills of primary school students, this research was optimizing the using of authentic assessment model in teaching reading comprehension. This research was conducted by using the quasi-experimental method. Research samples were elementary school students from three schools with three different characteristics. Data were collected using a test technique. The data were processed using the statistical testing anova test. Based on the research and the results of the data analysis it can be concluded that the model of authentic assessment with proper design can enhance the ability of elementary school students' reading comprehension. DOI: 10.15408/tjems.v1i1.1121

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to uncover the benefits of the introduction of information and communication technology in education. The researcher analyzes documents from formal and non-formal institutions in facilitating the use of information and communication technology to meet the needs of today's students. In order to maximize the benefits of having ICT in education, universities have to have more interactions with the world community through communication with pople in the community and their leaders.
