Abstract

Archiving and dissemination of data , techniques, and observations of Cyanophyta required for optimization of succesfully low plant systematics studies. This paper aims to present the preparation techniques and the results of Cyanophyta algae observing with light microscope and digitaly camera. Sources accurate specimen was also informed by the author repeatedly experience in organizing learning plant systematics. Preparation and microscopic observation Cyanophyta consists of preparation of accurate source of specimens , microscopic observation to obtain optimum picture of the object and focus , shooting or recording images using a digital camera. The image files are stored and are equipped with a scale.Results of preparation , observation and shooting showed that cells and colonies all Cyanophyta (Oscillatoria , Anabaena , Nostoc ) has a similar size range that requires preparation to optimize the use of the same light microscop . Cells of Cyanophyta colonies can be seen clearly in the eyepiece magnification of 10x and 40x objective. Less than that magnification, The thalus of Cyanophyta difficult to observe because of the relatively small cell size compared to the size of eukaryotic cells. By shooting with digitaly camera, microscopy observation images can be captured as digital specimen. Observing the digitaly specimen does not change depending on season and time. Abstract

Blood is part of the body which has 6-8 % of total body weight which include of the blood cell and plasma. Thrombocyte is one of component in the blood which has an important function in blood coagulation. This study is aimed to evaluate the influence of the sex and age of donor on the number of thrombocyte. Blood sample were collected at Blood Transfusion Unit of Malang. This research using cases study whose use to observe the number of thrombocyte in man and woman donor at different age. Total of 40 sample (20 of each sex) whose classified as ≤31, 31-40, 41-50 and ≥ 51 years of age. The number of thrombocyte which determined by hemocytometer   and observe  under microscope   (magnification:   100 ).  The collected data where analyze by unpaired T-test for man and woman one. While Anova whose use to analyze the differences between ages interval both in the man and woman.  Duncan test (5%) whose  use  to  determine  the  significant different between ages group. The  result  show  that  the  number  of  thrombocyte  whose  significantly higher (P<0,05) than those in the woman (245.750 + 76300 vs 201.750 + 61564). The age of donor whose significantly influence on the number of thrombocyte (P<0,05) both in the man and woman. The number of thrombocyte degrees significantly by increasing the age. However for the both sex can donor the blood of more than 51 years of age.Keywords: thrombocyte, man, woman and age.

Abstract

Education in 21st century is very relevant to the purpose of education in Indonesia. Global era and the integration of technology in education, helped accelerate the synergy of knowledge across disciplines, thus giving birth to a new field. Learning aimed at creating an atmosphere of active, critical, analytical, and creative in solving problems through the development of thinking skills. Science (biology) essentially contains four elements are scientific processes, the product (scientific knowledge), attitudes (scientific attitudes), and technology. Processes in science implies manner or scientific activity for natural phenomena to describe the product obtained in the form of science facts, principles, laws, or theories. Science (biology) containing six elements are active learning, discovery / inquiry activity approach, scientific literacy, constructivism, science, technology, and society, and the existence of truth.There are two things that can be done by LPTK in optimizing the implementation of Curriculum 2013 are: 1) Strengthening understanding of the biology teacher candidates about the nature and characteristics of biology teaching; 2) Creating an academic situation so that prospective biology teachers have insight and knowledge about the importance of the role of science (biology) and as well as the direction of learning in the future. Abstract

Science Skills include observing skills with all the senses, using tools and materials, planned  the exThis study aims to investigate the influence of variations in the concentration and dipping time of lactic acid to glucose and organoleptic sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas). The research method using completely randomized design (CRD) with factorial 3x3 and three replications. The first factor is the variation of concentration (K) include 1%, 1.5%, 2%, both long immersion factor (L) includes 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes. Collecting data by calculating the glucose level using titration method using Na2S2O and organoleptic tests include color, smell, texture andlevel of preference to the 15 panelists using the enclosed questionnaire. Analysis of data using 3analysis of variance (ANOVA) two paths through SPSS version 17.0 with a significance level of 0.05, then when will significantly dilanjutkanuji LSD or LSD. The analysis showed variationin the concentration effect on glucose levels (P = 0.000 <0.05). Soaking time effect on glucoselevels (P = 0.000 <0.05). There are significant variations in the concentration of interaction and immersion duration of the glucose levels (P = 0.013 <0.05). The highest glucose levels found in K1Ltreatment (1% concentration and dipping time of 60 minutes), while the lowest glucoselevels in the treatment K1 3L2 and K3L on immersion 120 menit.Hasil organoleptic preferred on K3L 3 treatment because the typical smell of sweet potato is missing, whiter color , the texture is very soft and low glucose levels.Keywords: lactic acid, sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), glucose, organoleptic test

Abstract

Every living organism has the ability to reproduce that aims to maintain the kind ( species). Sexual maturity conditions of  Drosophilla melanogaster will affect the outcome of the offspring ,that is a number of offspring and a kind offspring sex. Sexual maturation of female D. melanogaster individuals also greatly affect to the offspring conditions. Genetic research using D. melanogaster as an experimental material will be interesting and challenging for the university students . The purpose of this study was to determine: 1)The effect of age of female D.  melanogaster strains tx on offspring number and the sex of F1. 2) The research results will use as a guide to the preparation of the genetics lab. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design methods . Data were analyzed using analysis of variance of the path (oneway Anova) followed  further test by 5 % BNT test. Data showed the effect of age of female D. melanogaster strains tx on a number of offspring and the kind sex of F1 . The average number of offspring at various ages females are 149.38 . The average of are 72.03 and 77.34 of the female. After further testing with BNT in 5% of level indicates that the number of F1 offspring in females treatment aged 12 , 24 , 36 and 48 hours resulted in a lot of different number of offspring significantly with the number of female progeny from crosses age 60 , 72, 84 and 96 hours resulted in the number of little offspring. From the study it can be concluded that the age of the female D. melanogaster strains tx effect on a number of offspring and a kind of F1 sex of progeny . The older females ,the number of offsprings produced are less, because females decreased fertility and fecundity . Individual males have a higher mortality compared with all age female D. melanogaster strains tx . Keyword : Females Age , D. melanogaster strain Tx, Practical Guidelines .

Abstract

The purpose of this action research is to improve the competence learning material digestive system in class VIII G of SMP Negeri 2 Paron with scientific learning through the medium of the puzzle. Research carried out for 3 months starting in September 2014 to November 2014. The subject of this class action research was a number of 29 students. Data collection was performed by the method of observation and testing methods. Observation is aimed at three competencies: (1) the competence of attitude, (2) the competence of knowledge, (3) skills competency. The results showed that students learning competence has increased, ie if the initial reflection completeness reached 59% in the first cycle increased to 69% and in the second cycle increased to 86%. Figures incompleteess decreased if the initial reflection of 41% then the first cycle decreased to 31% and the second cycle decreased to 14%. On average class increased if the initial reflection at 69 then the first cycle increased to 71 and the second cycle increased to 75. Thus, with these results it can be said that the puzzle able to enhanced student competence Keywords: Puzzle, scientific, learning competence

Abstract

Learning in UIN Alauddin is still limited knowledge to students, while, one mission to improve the quality of educators Biology in terms of belief, moral and scientific attitudes have not been implemented. This is caused by a lack of learning resources that connects Biology Science and its relation to scientific Quran. Cell Biology as subjects that reveal about the phenomenon of the smallest unit of life, it can be studied with scientific Quran. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials of Cell Biology with scientific Quran to achieve one mission in Biology Education Courses of UIN Alauddin Makassar to improve quality in terms of the creed of Biology Educators, moral and scientific attitude. Cell Biology purposes of teaching materials even this can help students to better understand the concept of Cell Biology abstract to concrete, because in Cell Biology teaching materials displayed image by using a reference cell that contains the results of research conducted by experts Cell BiologY. Thus, the implementation and achievement of learning objectives can be achieved optimally so that it can support contextual learning of Cell Biology. Abstract

The objectives of the research were to know: 1) the effect of Jigsaw learning through Hypermedia and module toward  student’s achievement; 2) the effect of high and low memory ability toward  student’s achievement; 3) the effect of high and low social interaction toward  student’s achievement; 4) interaction between learning media and memory ability toward student’s achievement; 5) interaction between learning media and social interaction toward the student’s achievement; 6) interaction between memory ability and student social interaction toward the student’s achievement; 7) interaction between learning media and memory ability and student social interaction toward the student’s achievement. The research sample was determined by random cluster sampling technique that consists of two classes. Data collection techniques for achievement tests and memory skills, social interaction questionnaire for. Anova test hypotheses using 2x2x2 factorial design with the help of software Minitab 15.1.2. Based on the research were concluded : 1)  There was an effect of with hypermedia and module toward the student’s achievement. 2) There was no effect of memory ability to ward student’s achievement. 3) There was an effect of social interaction  toward student’s achievement. 4) There was no interaction between learning media and student’s memory ability toward student’s achievement. 5) There was no interaction between learning media  and social interaction toward student’s achievement. 6) There was no interactoin memory ability and social interaction  toward student’s achievement. 7) There was no interaction memory ability, social interaction, and learning media  toward student’s achievement . Keywords:  jigsaw, memory ability, social interaction, hypermedia, module.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the abundance of phytoplankton in the waters of the inlet and outlet Reservoirs Bening. Hamlet Village Petung Pajaran Saradan District of Madison County as well as exploit some results of research on the abundance of phytoplankton as a medium of learning materials were shaped poster on the types of phytoplankton. This study uses the exploratory research is directly done by observing and identifying body shapes, locomotor and body color that is in the phytoplankton Reservoir Bening in the inlet and outlet by taking samples at two points each station with three replications samples. Phytoplankton that have been filtered observed under the microscope and then identified the species and grade as well as documented. Calculated amount of phytoplankton abundance at each inlet and outlet areas. The results showed that the abundance of phytoplankton in the inlet and outlet. Phytoplankton abundance in the inlet area of the Month December to February respectively is 330 ind/l, 286.291 ind/l, and 258.892 ind/l, while the abundance of phytoplankton in the area of the outlet of the Month December to February respectively Tutut 130.844 ind/l, 112.200 ind/l, and 98.430 ind/l. Phytoplankton species in the Reservoir Bening Saradan found 12 species of phytoplankton that is, Synedra ulna, Tetragonodium verum, Synedra acus, Surirella elegans, Ceratium, Surirella sp, Pediastrum simplex, Chlorocytrium lemnae, Nitzia palea, Crucigenia rectangularis, grevillei Navicula, Scenedesmus acumatus. Phytoplankton abundance is the most ubiquitous class Bacillariophyceae species Synedra acus. Keywords: phytoplankton, abundance, inlet and outlet

Abstract

The objective of this study was to isolate actinomycetes from soil of tea plantations, Jamus ngawi as a microbiology lab manual chapter isolation and characterization of microbes. The medium used is the medium of MHA and MHB. Soil samples taken to a depth of 10-15 cm from the surface with capture location is about 07o 4153,07 S and 111  37 24.64 E. The isolates were obtained observed morphologic characters include colony shape, colony color, surface characteristics of colonies, colony growth, colony elevation, and the edge of the colony. Isolatesof actinomycetes were successfully isolated are Streptomyces, Nocardia and Nocardiopsis. Actinomycetes isolates have been found that can be used as a collection of the microbiologylaboratory.Keywords : actinomycetes, soil of tea plantation, microbiology lab manual
