Abstract

This research develops a model of characteristic training and character education management to produce academic, profession, and vocational (potential teacher and teacher) teachers who have superior competence in disseminating noble character of the nation. By using Researh & Development approach, this research uses Padepokan Character locus PPKn FIS Unnes Department. The subjects of the study were the newly graduated Unnes students, the young teachers in Semarang City and Central Java Province. The factual model of training management and the development of character education that runs so far contains weaknesses in various aspects, from planning, implementation, to evaluation of activities. On the basis of the analysis of a number of weaknesses of the factual model is then carried out the reconstruction of the conceptual model departs from the review of ethical factors and emotic factors. Conceptual model is then refined again by accommodating the results of focus group discussion with the stake holders and utilize the potential and resources owned by the character padepokan Unnes Political Education and Citizenship. This model has incorporated various aspects of the training, from the refinement of the factual model greed, the consideration of ethical factors and the emotional factors, as well as the aspirations and needs of the stake holders, so it is feasible to experiment in the wider domain.

Abstract

This article presents the finding of a study that investigate pre-service English teacher in managing the class when they were teaching in teaching practice program or Pre-Service Teaching Program.  Teaching in a real class is a new experience for the students of Muria Kudus University; however they need to adjust themselves to the teaching environment. They need to prepare some educational knowledge like; classroom management, educational psychology, curriculum development, teaching method etc, in order to be able to organize the lesson well and achieve maximum result. The key of a successful learning is depended on the way teacher organizing the class. In other word the key of a successful language teaching is classroom management.  However each class has different characteristics, so a teacher needs to prepare himself to the students’ learning style.  Maintaining discipline and organizing students can be very frustrating for the student-teachers because they do not only need well understanding about classroom management but they also need to control their performance. The students- teacher or teacher candidates need guidance either from the school teachers or their lecturers; therefore it is also very important to observe their activities in the class to know the improvements which have been done by the teacher.

Abstract

This article seeks to examine the child's learning environment. In education is better known as Tri Education Center. Namely three educational environments that can support the learning process of children. The three environments are the family environment, school environment and the environment (community). In the context of education, society is the third environment after family and school. In this article the authors would like to invite a look back that the community environment has an important influence on the learning process of children. Because most of the time the child is in the family and society. For it becomes a necessity of the community participate in education either directly or indirectly. Because the community is a maid in the process of maturation of individuals as members of groups in a society. The learning process in society is not limited by time and space. As long as the children interact and socialize with the environment it can be said that as their learning process. Through this library research hope can determine how far the role of the community environment in helping children's learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to increase student learning of cognitive and psychomotor aspects in making sketches and maps of the area that describes the object of geography in class VII B SMP N 2 Jakenan. The research was conducted inside and outside the classroom to conduct a field survey around the school and village offices Glonggong. The research subject is class VIIB conducted with two cycle cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The research proves that the application of a field survey methods can improve student learning outcomes on cognitive aspects with an average grade of 53.32 - 69.19 to 78.55; psychomotor aspect was no increase in the average grade of 58.00 to 70.81 - 79.52 with indicators increase students' ability to collect data, geography placing objects in the image, complete the elements of sketches and maps of the area and were able to finish the sketches and maps of the area the aesthetic value according to the rules cartographical correct. It is concluded that the cognitive aspects of student learning outcomes and psychomotor aspects can be improved through a field survey methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of acculturation of student culture in social intercourse at campus UPP Tegal UNNES and Analyzing the obstacles faced by students in the process of cultural acculturation in social intercourse at campus UPP Tegal UNNES. The long-term goal is to find strategies or methods of student's cultural adaptation strategy which of course is different from the others. This research uses qualitative approach with case study type. The subjects of the study were all students of PGSD UPP Tegal UNNES. Informants students, lecturers, community Kemandungan and society Debong. Primary data sources are obtained through students because they know exactly about the process of cultural acculturation that takes place on campus. While secondary data sources obtained through reference with the study of cultural acculturation in society. Techniques of collecting data through interviews with informants, observations on campus sera student boarding environment and documentation. The validity of data is done by using source triangulation technique and method. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman model which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Cultural acculturation is a social process that students pass through on campus as they associate with their friends. This process occurs because students have different cultures from each other. The process of meeting the two different cultures, but they are able to co-exist without eliminating the elements of each. They associate with college friends without distinguishing the origin of the region, tribe, religion and race. It can be seen through the activities undertaken on campus, such as student activities, activities in order to meet the tasks of college and so forth. Abstract

This study purpose  to determine the role and implementation of Child Friendly City  in Demak District from an educational point of view. This research is done in the school environment in Demak District with the object of research are principals, students, parents and school committee. Qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive technique used in this research. Data analysis was obtained from interviews conducted on education and culture offices, social offices, principals, school committees, students as well as parents and student questionnaires and observations from researchers. The result of the research (1) the KLA implementation indicator in education of two of the eight indicators is appropriate ie non-smoking areas that have been applied in public places and the implementation of child-friendly schools whereas there are six indicators that include: , early childhood education, 12-year compulsory education, means of traveling from and to school and recreation and recreation facilities. (2) the implementation of KLA in schools of six of the seven indicators is not yet optimal: business involvement in the fulfillment of children's rights, information facilities, non-smoking areas, 12-year compulsory education, means of traveling for children to and from schools as well as, child friendly school  and facilities creation and recreation  that is right.

Abstract

The research problems are how fotonovela group discussions media can increase motivation and creative thinking abilities of students in the matter of environmental pollution. This study was conducted in two cycles each cycle consist of 2 meetings. Research subjects is motivation and creative thinking abilities of students of class X IPA 8 SMA 1 Kudus semester of academic year 2012/2013. The results showed an increase in motivation and creative thinking abilities of students on material environmental pollution by fotonovela group discussions media.

Abstract

The purpose of classroom action research is to improve the students mathematic problem solving skills of grade IV SD 1 Kedungdowo through the problem based learning model assisted by lego. This research is a classroom action research with teacher research subject and 28 students. This study lasted for 2 cycles, each cycle consists of 4 stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. The independent variable in this research is lego assisted PBL. While the dependent variable in this research that is problem solving ability. Data collection techniques used is tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase of problem solving ability of mathematics in cycle I and Cycle II, that is from 70,92 (good) to 74,28 (good) with percentage of classical learning completeness equal to 64% to 86%. Supported by an increase in problem solving activity students score 2.51 (good) to 3.01 (good). In addition, teachers' skills in managing mathematics learning also increased by 74% (good) to 85% (very good).

Abstract

The aims of the study are to determine the effectiveness of three authentic assessments appilcations, there are project appraisal, performance appraisal and portfolio assessment. The methodelogy used in this research is experimental study that used three classes of sampling and each class used different treatment of authentic assessment. The sample of the research is the students of class X  in MA Darul Ulum Purwogondo Jepara with random sampling. This research is preceded by requirement data test that is homogeneity test p-value 0,163 as a result which showed sample taken identical because more than sig 0,05. The results show that there is a difference in the mean value of three authentic assessment apps with p-value 0.00. Among the three assessments the most effective is the portfolio assessment with the mean difference showing the value of 3.371.Therefore, authentic assessment is very effective in learning to improve students' scientific performance.

Abstract

This research is describe the analysis of batik extracurricular activities to the ability of batik painting of elementary school students in Mantingan Village, Jaken Sub-district, Pati Regency. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach with principal subject, extracurricular batik trainer, and students of SD N Mantingan. The object of this study is the analysis of batik extracurricular activities on the ability of art batik. Data collection is done by observation, interview. The data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. To test the validity of the data used persistence. Batik extracurricular activities that have been implemented in SD N Mantingan have a role on the ability of batik art to produce various works of batik art. The ability of batik art, among others, elements and principles of art are taught by trainers or teachers able to make students can be creative, work, develop creativity, express feelings, talents, motivation and independence.
