Abstract

The main problem in this research was the conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural land in the regional spatial plan. The occurrence of agricultural land shifting involved the government, land owners, investors and the community. The aims of this research was to analyze factors, economic, social, land conditions and the government as the reason of the conversion of agricultural land into non-agriculture. The research was conducted in Denbantas Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali, with the consideration that the village was shifting the function of agricultural land. The research sample was determined by proportional random sampling with total 148 respondents. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, the research results found that the dominant factors of agricultural land shifting were the need for housing, public ignorance of the land function, there was no land as an alternative to build a residence, and the government lacked socialization about land functions according to the regional spatial plan. The research on the causes of conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural need to be conducted to anticipate land conversion did not occur sustainably

Abstract

Findings from the previous studies of asset valuation models on the plantation commodities were still provided double-edged evidence. Hence, this study aimed to examine the best model for economic valuation on the Muntok White Pepper through the Stochastic Modelling Approach. South Bangka, West Bangka, and Belitung Regency were selected as the study locations. Study participants were pepper farmers in the white pepper cultivation central area in Bangka Belitung. Primary data of the price, income, cash-flow, and production cost of the pepper commodity collected through observation and interview sessions with the participants. These data provided information for the volume production, cultivated land area, production cost, and land maintenance. Multiple regression models enrolled to analyze the collected data. The best asset valuation model was selected by employing Akaike’s Information Criterion (AIC) dan Schwarz Information Criterion (SIC).Results revealed that the market price approach had provided the best model for the asset valuation of the Muntok White Pepper. The price of the pepper was set speculatively by the farmer

Abstract

Organic eggs have been marketed to provide safe food and protect the environment sustainability all at once. However, the high price is being an obstacle to expanding the organic egg market in East Java Province. The aims of this research were to analyze the factors that influence the willingness to pay (WTP) and hedonic prices of organic eggs and to formulate pricing strategies. This research was conducted by using an online survey method in East Java Province, Indonesia. The survey was conducted from May to July 2021. The obtained data were analyzed by using multinomial logistic, linear regression, and descriptive analysis. The results showed that 26.4% of consumers were willing to pay for organic eggs 10% more than the current price. The factor that influenced WTP was product quality. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the price were the eggs taste and the organic label. The results showed that market players of organic egg agribusiness still have the opportunity to increase the price of organic eggs. However, they must inform consumers about the health benefits of organic eggs and include them on the organic eggs label.

Abstract

Tea is a popular export commodity from Indonesia. It has been exported worldwide, especially to Southeast Asia countries. However, the popularity of the tea export market attracts export competitors, which in turn served a strenuous chance to win in the market. The objective of the study was to analyze the competitiveness and factors that affected the exported Indonesian tea in Southeast Asia Market. The data analysis method applied was the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Specialization Ratio (TSR), and data panel regression (Fixed-Effect Model). Findings showed that exported Indonesian tea had a strong level of comparative competitiveness. Analysis revealed that Indonesia tended to be a tea exporter on the export expansion stage. The real GDP of the countries of destination, exported tea price, the population of the countries of destination, and RCA index had delivered significant influence for the exported volume of Indonesian tea to the Southeast Asia countries.

Abstract

Standard and certification are related to the sustainable development paradigm that views agriculture as a system. However, studies on standard and certification, especially in Indonesia, rarely evaluate it as a systemic approach to agricultural development. This study aimed to analyze the parallels of the standard and certification with the premise of The Theory of Change–can contextually provide incentives for a systemic approach to sustainable coffee production in Indonesia and to examine the proper systemic approach for a sustainable system of the Indonesian coffee production. We conducted a literature review to address the study aims. Empirical and theoretical approach studies included in the review process. Findings revealed that standard and certification did not provide adequate incentives for systemic and sustainable coffee production in Indonesia. Thus, a combination of five building blocks as a conceptual systemic approach is required to encourage sustainable coffee production. These building blocks are composed of enabling environment, production and market characteristics, the availability of alternative livelihoods, and the level of competition among producers.
