Abstract

Indonesian language learning is still applied with teacher centered learning in which the students face difficulty in asking questions. The students tend to be lazy to do their homework if they do not understand their materials. The lack of motivation and activities cause minimum of their assessment. This research is aimed at identifying the influence of story telling technique in increasing students learning outcome in Indonesian language course in nursery study program STIKes Syedza Saintika Padang. Based on the problem, the story telling technique is expected to increase students activities and their learning outcome. This research is classroom actions research and the subject of the research is 25 people of the first semester students of nursery study program STIKes Syedza Saintika Padang. The data is collected by using observation shheets and result tests. The technique of analyzing the data is descriptive and supported by the analysis of students learning outcome. This research is divided into 2 cycles and each of the cycles consist of 3 meetings. The result shows that cycle I mean is 65,55 and cycle II is 88,96. This shows that there is an increase of students acitivities. Moreover, it can be concluded that Indonesian language can be taught by using story telling technique in order to increase their activities and learning outcomes.Key Words: improving, speaking ability, story telling technique

Abstract

Abstract: One of basic components in teaching learning process is speaking skill. The aim of this research was to describe the process, result, and factors that influence the improvement of speaking skill by using Riddle game. The research was classified into classroom action research. The sample was students at tenth grade MAS-TI Tabek Gadang, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The data were collected by using observation, questionnaire, field note, and test. The data were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed.  The findings of the research revealed that the riddle game could improve the students’ speaking skill. The students were asking and answering questions actively, moreover they could expressed the idea and give some explanation precisely. It was valuable in the sense that it helped the students to improve their speaking skill. Kata kunci: keterampilan berbicara, metode bermain teka-teki

Abstract

ABSTRAKBBLR masih terus menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang signifikan secara global mencapai 15% bayi di seluruh dunia (lebih dari 20 juta jiwa). Sangat penting Terapi pendamping menggunakan metode kangguru yang bisa digunakan untuk mencegah terjadinya hipotermi karena tubuh ibu dapat memberikan kehangatan kepada bayinya secara terus menerus dengan cara kontak antara kulit ibu dengan kulit bayi.Tujuan penelitian ini mempelajari pengaruh metode kangguru terhadap peningkatan suhu pada bayi BBLR. Jenis penelitian ini quasi eksperimen ,dengan rancangan studi rancangan yang berupaya untuk mengungkapkan hubungan sebab akibat dengan melibatkan kelompok kontrol Bayi BBLR yang melakukan perawatan dengan inkubator dan kelompok eksperimen  Bayi  BBLR yang melakukan perawatan dengan metode kanguru dengan rancangan post test only. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Juni sampai dengan November 2018. Penelitian dilaksanakan di RSUD D.Rasidin dan RS TK III Dr.Reksdiwiryo Populasi adalah Seluruh ibu yang melahirkan bayi BBLR   terdata di rekam medis RSUD D.Rasidin dan RS Tk III.Reksodiwiryo  berjumlah 26 Bayi. Sampel berjumlah 26 BBLR yang diambil dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Data dianalisis  menggunakan uji Wilcoxon, dan nilai p < 0,05 dianggap bermakna secara statistik. Rerata suhu aksila kelompok metode kanguru 36,8 ±0,3  dan rerata suhu aksila pada kelompok inkubator 36,4±0,1. Rerata total kehilangan panas kering pada kelompok metode kanguru dsan inkubator sebesar 29,66 ± 0,53 J dan pada kelompok inkubator 34,28 ± 0,77 J. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh metode kangguru terhadap suhu aksila pada bayi BBLR. Disarankan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan perbandingan apabila dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai perawatan yang tepat pada BBLR.Kata Kunci : BBLR, Metode Kangguru dan Inkubator THE EFFECTIVENESS OF KANGAROO METHOD ON TEMPERATURE AND HEAT LOSS IN LOW BIRTH WEIGHT BABIES (LBW)                ABSTRACTLow Birth Weight still continues to be a significant public health problem globally that reached until 15% of babies worldwide (more than 20 million people). The therapy of using the Kangaroo method can be used to prevent hypothermia because the mother's body can provide warmth to the baby continuously by contact the mother's skin with the baby's skin. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of kangaroo method on increasing temperature in Low Birth Weight. The type of research was quasi-experimental, with a design study to reveal a causal relationship between control group of Low Birth Weight infants who cared for an incubator and an experimental group for LBW infants who were treated with Kangaroo methods. This research used a post test design only. The study have done in June untill November 2018. The study was carried out in Dr.Rasidin Hospital and Dr.Reksodiwiryo Hospital. The population was all mothers who gave birth to low bith weight were recorded in the medical records of Dr.Rasidin Hospital and Reksodiwiryo Hospital. The sample amounted to 26 low birth weight taken by consecutive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Test, and p <0.05 was considered statistically significant. The mean axillary temperature of the kangaroo method group was 36.8 ± 0.3 and the mean axillary temperature in the incubator group was 36.4 ± 0.1. The average total dry heat loss in the kangaroo method was 29.66 ± 0.53 J and in the incubator group 34.28 ± 0.77 J. The results concluded that there the kangaroo method on axillary temperature in low birth weight. It is suggested that the results of this study can be used as a comparison for the next research. Keyword: Low Birth Weight, Kangaroo methode,incubator methodeE

Abstract

Rasa nyeri haid atau disminore ini membawa remaja pada kondisi yang tidak menyenangkan. Melihat dampak tersebut, salah cara mengatasinya adalah dengan metode non farmakologi yaitu kompres hangat jahe merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian kompres hangat jehe merah (Zingiber officinale Rosc.Var.Rubrum) terhadap derajat nyeri menstruasi (dismenorrhea) pada remaja putri di SMP Negeri 12 Sungai Penuh tahun 2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre eksperimen, menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 30 Juli - 4 Agustus 2018. Populasi seluruh remaja putri kelas VII dan VIII yang mengalami nyeri menstruasi (dismenore) sebanyak 121 orang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 10 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Data di olah secara komputerisasi dengan analisis univariat menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan analisis bivariat menggunakan uji t-test dependen dengan tingkat kemaknaan α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata nyeri menstruasi (Dismenorrhea) sebelum diberikan kompres hangat jahe merah adalah 5,30 dan menurun sesudah diberikan kompres hangat jahe merah adalah 3,80. Ada pengaruh pemberian kompres hangat jahe merah terhadap derajat nyeri menstruasi pada remaja putri (p value = 0,000). Berpedoman dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh pemberian kompres hangat jahe merah terhadap derajat nyeri menstruasi pada remaja putri, maka diharapkan kepada pihak sekolah hendaknya melakukan kerja sama dengan tenaga kesehatan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai nyeri menstruasi (Dismenorrhea) serta pemberian informasi sebaiknya diberikan sejak dini agar menambah pengetahuan siswi dalam mengatasi nyeri menstruasi (Dismenorrhea) pada saat menstruasi secara non farmakologis.

Abstract

Findings from the results of the author's interviews with Indonesian language lecturers as well as level 1 students of the D3 Nutrition Science Study Program of the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health in Padang are, students have not been able to write news, because of the following things. First, they have the lack of students' ability in writing. Second, students are less able to develop the elements of building news. Third, ineffective learning media used by lecturers. Based on the aforementioned problems, the authors think it is important to carry out classroom action research aimed at improving the ability to write news with serial images of students of level 1 of the D3 Nutrition Science program at the Health Ministry of Health in Padang. The selection of this serial image media is thought to be appropriate for learning to write news, because through this image media students are motivated because the media can be touched, seen and observed. In addition, the use of image media is thought to be easy for students to understand so students will more easily express their ideas or ideas in writing news. This class was chosen because the ability to write news in learning is low when compared to other classes, this is evidenced by the acquisition of the results of the writing test exposition of semester I of the academic year 2017/2018. The type of this research is classroom action research with the research subject level 1 of the Nutrition D III Study Program with 39 students. The research was carried out in semester 2 of the 2018/2019 school year. Data collection tools used were student activity observation sheets and final tests. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive and analysis of learning outcomes. This research consisted of two cycles and each cycle was held twice. The results of the study in each cycle are pre-cycle with an average value of 70.87 students, the first cycle with an average value of 86.46 students and the second cycle 93.74, this shows student activity tends to increase. Furthermore, it was concluded that lectures on learning to write news with serial image media can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in level 1 of the D III Nutrition Study Program of the Health Ministry of Health in Padang.

Abstract

Karya Andaru Intan pada novel 33 Senja di Halmahera menceritakan tentang Nathan, seorang tentara beragama Nasrani dari Ambon yang harus ditugaskan ke sebuah desa kecil di Maluku utara, yang jatuh cinta kepada Puan seorang gadis Muslim yang tinggal di pesisir pantai dan bekerja sebagai guru Bahasa inggris. Novel ini dianalisis dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Pendekatan kepada sastra yang berfokus pada masyarakat disebut sosiologi sastra, Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan latar belakang dari sosial budaya masyarakat Halmahera serta nilai-nilai edukatif yang terdapat dalam novel 33 Senja di Halmahera. Nilai edukatif atau nilai Pendidikan adalah suatu nilai yang mencakup sikap diri sendiri dalam kehidupan sosial dan pribadi, nilai-nilai edukatif di novel 33 Senja di Halmahera adalah bersahabat/komunikatif, terampil, religius, bertanggung jawab dan disiplin. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan metode deskritif yang menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra.  Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah karya Andaru Intan pada novel 33 Senja di Halmahera.

Abstract

Instructional materials are an essential component of the learning process. The use of instructional materials can be tailored to students; requirements and characteristics. Prospective instructors must take courses on the development of teaching materials in order to acquire the skills necessary to create instructional materials. To have the skills to develop teaching materials, other skills are needed to support this, including digital literacy and writing skills for prospective teacher students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of digital literacy and writing skills on the skills of developing teaching materials for prospective teacher students. This study uses quantitative research methods using causal associative research, namely research that seeks the influence of one variable (independent) with other variables (dependent). The population of this study were 210 students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at UNP BP 2020. The sample selection technique uses purposive sampling. The number of samples obtained were 35 students. The research instrument is in the form of teaching material products, performance tests. Assessment is carried out with the help of an assessment rubric. The data analysis method uses SPSS with the Multiple Regression analysis method. The results of the study show that digital literacy and writing skills have a significant effect on the skills of developing teaching materials for prospective teacher students both collectively and individually.

Abstract

This study examines Teacher Perceptions of the Freedom to Learn Policy, especially regarding the Simplification of Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) at SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya, Solok Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out how the teacher’s perception of the Free Learning Policy regarding the Simplification of Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) at SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya, Solok Regency. In this research, there are 3 formulations of the problem, namely what is the teacher’s perception of the independent learning policy regarding simplification of lesson plans in SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya, Solok Regency, and what are the obstacles faced by teachers in preparing lesson plans, and what are the solutions to these problems. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The results showed that teachers’ perceptions of the independent learning policy regarding simplification of lesson plans, namely that the existence of this policy of simplifying lesson plans really helped teachers in terms of administration which did not take much time in preparing lesson plans. Whatever the obstacles in the preparation of lesson plans that will be simplified, namely the lack of socialization and adequate skill abilities by teachers related to writing 1 sheet lesson plans and the different formats in writing lesson plans from the previous curriculum. The solution taken by the school to overcome these obstacles is to hold socialization about writing lesson plans and holding MGMPs every week for each subject teacher.

Abstract

A novel is a literary genre that depict linguistic phenomena in real life. It serves not only as a source of enjoyable entertainment, but also as a mirror of the language reality that exists in society. The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of code switching and code mixing in the novel Rahasia Meede by E.S. Ito. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The source of data in this research is the novel Rahasia Meede by E.S. Ito. The object of this research is the actual use of code switching and code mixing in the novel. The results of this research show that the characters in the novel use or mix Dutch, English, Spanish, Hindi, Latin, Mentawai, Nias, and Indonesian languages in different situations. The forms of code switching in this research are switches from Indonesian to Dutch, English, Indian, Mentawai, Nias, Bataknese, and Latin languages. The types of code mixing found are mixes of Dutch, English, Aceh, Spanish, Mentawai, Latin, Minangkabau, and Hindi languages.

Abstract

The skill of developing lesson plans is one of the competencies that teachers must have. The skills to develop these lesson plans can be learned while studying at universities. Based on observations, it was found that the skills of developing student lesson plans were still not in line with expectations, considering that students did not yet have an overview of the learning process in class. Based on this, learning methods are needed so that students are skilled in developing lesson plans. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model with the Copy The Master method on the skills of developing lesson plans for prospective teacher students. This research type was quantitative research using experimental methods. The research design used was the Matching Pretest-Post-test Control Group Design. This research data collection technique used a test. The test given was a performance test, in which students made lesson plans based on the syllabus. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that using the PjBL Model with the Copy The Master method is effective in improving skills in developing lesson plans for prospective teacher students. Based on that, students can implement their knowledge when they become teachers.
