Abstract

The partner in this PKM is Paloh Punti Village, Muara Satu, Lhokseumawe City. Paloh Punti Village is one of the villages in the Unimal Campus area which is 3 km from the Bukit Indah Campus. In general, the jobs of the people in Paloh Punti village are farmers and livestock breeders. Almost 80% of plantation land in this village is planted with coconut trees. Selling coconut plantation products is one of the main sources of income for the people of Paloh Punti village. So far, the selling value of coconuts in the Paloh Punti area is relatively low, ranging from 1,800 to 2,000 rupiah. This low selling value is due to the coconut plantation owners selling their produce intact, known in the community as round coconuts. To increase the selling value of these coconuts, the Community Service is trying to offer assistance in making a Coconut Skin Peeling Machine which will later be donated to the Paloh Punti Village Community under the coordination of the Village Leadership. This service will be carried out in stages, starting with counseling, introduction to peeling tools/machines, testing the tools, evaluating the economic value and handing over the coconut peeling machine to the village leadership. Counseling and training on the use of this tool begins with designing a tool using the ATM method (Observe, Imitate and Modify) from pre-existing types of equipment and adapt it to the needs of supporting machines.

Abstract

The process of harvesting stingless bee honey requires special tools, the use of vacuum pumps as a harvesting medium makes it easier for farmers, saves time, and maintains honey quality. The purpose of this service is to provide training to the community on how to use a honey harvesting tool with a vacuum pump with a capacity of 7 liters/minute, the assembly process and maintenance. From the results of the service that has been carried out for beekeepers in Pulo Meria Village, it is found that the honey suction tool from the Vacuum pump is very useful for farmers, easy to use, production capacity of 1 liter per hour and portable. The difference in the amount of capacity is due to the different honey harvesting process due to having different sized honey bags and different honeycomb contours. From the empowerment of the honey farming community, it was found that 89% of the farmers got better quality honey harvests and increased honey production by 57% more.

Abstract

Struktur Beton merupakan salah satu mata kuliah yang memerlukan usaha ekstra. Hal ini disimpulkan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada 15 orang mahasiswa S1 PTB FT UNP. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan pada 25 September 2023, sebagian besar dari mereka mengatakan adanya kendala terkait kelebihan dan kekurangan untuk setiap mahasiswa berdasarkan perbedaan latar belakang pengetahuan. Dari segi kelebihan, sebagian mahasiswa memiliki pengetahuan matematika dan fisika yang lebih kuat serta kemapuan berfikir logis yang baik, namun kekurangannya mereka kurang familiar dengan konsep teknik sipil, serta hal ini berakibat kepada sulitnya mahasiswa memahami konsep abstrak untuk menerapkannya kepada visualisasi gambar dengan tepat. Tujuan utamanya adalah agar materi perkuliahan dapat disampaikan dengan cara yang lebih engas dan sesuai dengan konteks perkembangan terkini dalam bidang ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle), dengan pengumpulan data melaluiI kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas, analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa teknologi Augmented Reality mempengaruhi kemampuan memahami materi struktur beton pada mahasiswa yang mengampu mata kuliah struktur beton.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi karbon yang terdifusi sebelum dan setelah dilakukannya pack carburizing dengan arang kulit singkong pada temperatur 875ºC dan 900ºC dengan holding time 120 menit dan mengetahui perubahan struktur mikro pada baja setelah dan sebelum dilakukan pack carburizing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan nilai karbon pada baja setelah dilakukkannya pack carburizing, pada raw material hanya mengandung 0,217% dan setelah dilakukan pack carburizing pada temperature 875 ºC karbon meningkat hingga 0,327% dan pada temperature 900ºC komposisi karbon mencapai 0,356%. Pada pengujian struktur mikro sampel raw material struktur mikro yang lebih dominan ialah ferit dan setelah dilakukan proses pack carburizing pada temperature 875ºC terbentuknya struktur perlit dan pada temperatur 900ºC terdapat martensit. Pada perhitungan diameter rata rata partikel didapatkan nilai rata-rata diameter partikel pada raw material 6,420 ?m dengan jumlah keseluruhan 139 partikel, material hasil pack carburizing temperature 875ºC nilai rata-rata diameter partikel 7,694?m dengan jumlah keseluruhan 177 partikel dan pada temperatur 900ºC nilai rata-rata diameter partikel 7,356 ?m dengan jumlah keseluruhan 83 partikel.

Abstract

Lathe machining is one type of conventional machine tool used for cutting/filling workpieces which is done by making an incision on the workpiece where the tool is moved translationally and parallel to the axis of the rotating workpiece. The result of the components of the turning process that is commonly done is surface roughness which is influenced by tool cutting angle, feeding speed, cutting speed, depth of cut. This study was conducted to determine how much influence the speed of feeding and depth of feeding on AISI 1045 steel and AISI 4140 steel materials used in shafts, conecting roads, gears with carbide chisels. With Vc=140 m/min, Vc=150 m/min, Vc=170 m/min, and Vc=180 m/min, and knowing the surface roughness of the workpiece using a carbide tool.  From the results of research on AISI 1045 and AISI 4140 steel for cutting along 50 mm with engine speed 1200 rpm and cutting depth 0.3 mm, as well as the cutting speed used Vc=140 m/min, Vc=150 m/min, Vc=170 m/min and Vc=180 m/min and the initial cutting distance of 4 mm, the time needed is 1,125 minutes. For the surface roughness value of AISI 1045 steel material and AISI 4140 steel has four variations in lathe feeding speed in this study, which in each variation has a different surface roughness value, the smallest surface roughness value is AISI 4140 steel with a feeding speed vc = 180 m / min surface roughness value of 0.705 μm compared to AISI 1045 steel material. This is due to the greater the movement of the feeding speed of feeding, the smaller the value of the surface roughness of the material

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the effect holding time on increasing the surface hardness of AISI 1020 steel material and analyzing the physical and mechanical properties of the results pack carburizing cassava peel waste on AISI 1020 steel. Process pack carburizing in this study have variations temperature 875oC and 900oC withholding time 60 minutes, 80 minutes, 100 minutes and 120 minutes. The catalyst used in this study was a carbonate compound, namely 20% BaCo3 to accelerate the reaction of adding carbon. The research results show that pack carburizing from cassava peel waste carbon can increase the surface hardness of AISI 1020 steel or part of the mechanical properties of the material. Testing at a temperature of 875oC withholding time 60 minutes which is 10.7 HRC and is the lowest value in the study while the highest hardness value occurs at a temperature of 900OC withholding time 120 minutes is 48.2 HRC. Microstructure observation results (metallography) on the edges indicates the martensite phase. The more martensite phase, the higher the value of the surface hardness of the steel material in the same direction as the effect of the length of holding time(holding time)

Abstract

Employment agency such as construction companies must maintain and provide the health of employees, this health comprehensively includes the physical and mental health of workers. Poor worker health can have unfavorable effects for both the worker and the company. Occupational health programs can be carried out by creating a healthy work environment. In the implementation, the occupational health program is always followed by an occupational safety program because the two programs are interrelated in the maintenance of workers. Occupational safety is safety related to the use of the latest technology such as machines, work equipments, materials and processing, the foundation of the place and the environment and steps of the work. Occupational safety and health can help make workers feel comfortable, safe and secure in carrying out the obligations to the company. The purpose of this research was to determine the application of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and the comfort level of workers at PT. Wandra Cipta Engineering Consultant in the tenement (Rusunawa) building project of the Almuslim foundation, Bireuen Regency. The research method used in this research was a quantitative method including surveys, questionnaires and interviews while data processing was done by using SPSS software version 25. The results of the research indicated that Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and the comfort level of workers at PT. Wandra Cipta Engineering Consultant in the tenement (Rusunawa) building project of the Almuslim foundation, Bireuen Regency was very comfortable. This can be seen from the results of data processing on occupational safety and health, it was found that 58.57% of the respondents agreed and the reliability test was 0.724 and 0.843. respectively

Abstract

This study aims to obtain the production amount of the slicing process of a multipurpose onion slicer according to the needs of the home industry. This versatile onion slicer uses two ways, namely conventional and unconventional. From the experimental results, the rotation of the cutting disk obtained a speed of 46.05 m / s, the cutting power obtained based on the calculation of 513.9 Watt, smaller than the motor power used. The average working capacity of slicing using an electric motor within 1 hour for shallots, plantains, and cassava is 213 g/min, 590.33 g/min and 474.66 g/min, respectively. While if using the manual method is 125.66 g/min, 128.66 g/min, and 161 g/min. Using a 220 Volt water pump drive engine 0.5 HP 2000 Rpm, which is added to the dimmer to adjust the rotation speed. The frame uses Aluminum with a thickness of 1.2 mm.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu dalam bidang material mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat, manusia telah melakukan beberapa inovasi dalam penggunaan teknik material komposit serat alam untuk mendapatkan material yang memiliki kualitas lebih baik, Komposit serat alam merupakan perkembangan ilmu material yang saat ini mulai banyak dikembangkan karena memiliki sifat yang kuat, ringan, murah dan ramah lingkungan. Adapun jenis serat yang digunakan adalah serat daun lidah mertua (sanseviera trifasciata) yang digunakan sebagai penguat dan jenis resin yang digunakan adalah Resin Polyester Yucalac 157 BQTN. Kekuatan komposit serat alam dapat dipengaruhi oleh orientasi arah serat. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan orientasi arah serat 0°, 45°, 90°. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh orientasi arah serat terhadap ketangguhan impact  dari material serat alam. Pembuatan komposit menggunakan metode hand lay up. Dari hasil pengujian impact yang dilakukan, penguat serat dengan orientasi 45° memiliki nilai kekuatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan orientasi arah serat 0°, dan 90°. Terdapat nilai ketangguhan impact terbesar pada orientasi arah serat 45° berpenguat serat daun lidah mertua sebesar 0,187049  joule/mm2, orientasi arah serat 0° sebesar 0,17756 joule/mm2, dan nilai ketangguhan impact terendah pada orientasi arah serat 90° sebesar 0,075035  joule/mm2.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine the effect of the matrix-to-filler ratio on the characteristic value of composites made from pineapple leaf fiber and coco fiber using clear polyester resin 108 as a matrix. The composite printing process involves combining 70% resin and 5% pineapple fiber: 15% pineapple fiber, 25% coconut fiber: 15% coconut fiber, 25% pineapple fiber, and 5% coconut fiber with 1% catalyst. The Hand-Lay Up method is used to create composites. Tensile strength testing mechanical properties are based on standards (ASTM D-3039). The tensile strength of 25% pineapple leaf fiber is the highest in this percentage variation: 5% coconut fiber with an average value of 44.88 MPa, 3.37% tensile strain, while pineapple leaf fiber 5% has the lowest tensile strength value: 25% coconut fiber with a 25.26 MPa average and a 2.54% tensile strain. According to the findings, the composite of 25% pineapple leaf fiber: 5% coconut fiber immersed in NaOH is suitable for use as an alternative tensile material.
