Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute febrile viral disease that is often accompanied by symptoms such as headache, bone or joint and muscle pain, rash, and low or low white blood cell count, transmitted by mosquitoes through the bite of the Aedes mosquito. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was correlation between the density of Aedes sp mosquito larvae and the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the working area of ??Tanah Jawacommunity health Center, Tanah Jawasub district, Simalungundistrict in 2022. This type of research was an analytic survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were all houses in Tanah Jawa and the sample was determined by random sampling technique with the provisions of ABJ as many as 100 houses. Collecting data in this study using questionnaires and observation sheets, the data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square test. The results of this study indicated that the daily water reservoir p value was 0.009 p (0.05), mosquito larvae density p value was 0.008 p (0.05) meaning that there was a significant correlation between daily water reservoirs, the presence of mosquito larvae with the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), Not a water reservoir p value of 0.786 p (0.05) means that there was no significant correlation between non-water reservoirs and the incidence of DHF, and the value of the larval density index House Index (HI). ) (31%), Container Index (CI) (5%), Breathe Index (BI) (33%) was categorized as medium density, and the value of Larva Free Rate (ABJ) (69%) was categorized as high. The conclusion in this study was that there were Aedes sp mosquito larvae and there was correlation between the density of Aedes sp mosquito larvae with the incidence of dengue fever and dengue fever in the working area of ??the Tanah JawaCommunityHealth Center, Tanah Jawa District, Simalungun district in 2022.

Abstract

Excessive use of plastic bags adversely affects health and the environment based on their hard-to-decompose nature. The increase in the number of plastic bag use is strongly influenced by population growth and changes in people's lifestyles, especially in shopping patterns among housewives, besides that government policies related to the Covid pandemic have triggered an increase in the use of plastic bags. This analytical observational research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of housewives towards the use of plastic bags in Pasar Siborongborong Village, North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, with a cross-sectional research design with an accidental sampling method. Interviews were conducted with 95 housewives. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with CI:95%. The results of research on the use of plastic bags by housewives showed that 57.9% of the knowledge level of housewives in the good category, 64.2% of housewives' attitudes in the category were not good and 77.9% of the use of plastic bags in housewives was not good. The results of the Chi-Square test analysis showed that there was no meaningful relationship between the level of knowledge of housewives towards the use of plastic bags. (p.value: 0.864). On the other hand, there is a significant relationship between the attitude of housewives towards the use of plastic bags and the p.value: 0.010. Knowledge about the use and dangers caused by plastic bags can be done through socialization with the public, including through advertisements on television and social media. The implementation of restrictions on the use of plastic bags through the paid plastic bag policy at supermarkets is felt to have not been optimal in an effort to reduce the use of plastic bags.

Abstract

Community-based waste management innovation can be done through a waste bank which is the development of the 3R concept (reuse, reduce, recycle). Community participation, especially housewives, being customers of the waste bank is highly expected in supporting waste management towards a healthy, clean life while at the same time increasing economic value. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and actions of housewives with participation in the waste bank. It is important to know and conduct an in-depth discussion so that the results obtained can be used as the basis for developing waste banks, as well as evaluating existing waste banks in the community. The type of research used is observational analytic with a case control research design with a sample size of 76 respondents (38 respondents are waste bank customers, and 38 respondents are non-waste bank customers). Data analysis using chi square test with 95% confidence level.. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value 0.004) and the participation of housewives in the waste bank. There is a relationship between attitudes (p value 0.000) with the participation of housewives in the waste bank. There is an action relationship (p value 0.001) with the participation of housewives in the waste bank. Knowledge, attitudes and actions of waste bank customers are better than those of housewives who are not waste bank customers. Increased knowledge of attitudes and actions can be carried out in the form of socialization, counseling and community empowerment, as well as improving facilities and infrastructure in waste management can increase the participation of housewives in the waste bank. Waste banks are expected to have an impact on housewives in increasing economic value, while maintaining environmental sustainability and cleanliness.
