Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam membaca gambar proyeksi yang pembelajarannya menggunakan 2 metode berbeda yaitu metode ceramah tanpa komputer dan ceramah menggunakan komputer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Randomized Control Groub Pretest-Posttest Design, menggunakan tes sebagai alat pengumpul data penelitian. Sampel penelitian adalah 60 mahasiswa yang diambil dari populasi yang terdiri dari 116 mahasiswa PTM Unnes 2009. Pembelajaran menggunakan metode ceramah meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dari Tcurang kompeten menjadi kompeten dan meningkatkan rata-rata nilai sebesar 15,5. Penggunaan media komputer meningkatkan kompetensi dari kurang kompeten menjadi sangat kompeten dan meningkatkan rata-rata nilai sebesar 21. Kata Kunci: gambar proyeksi, software Catla V5R14, kompetensi   This research was to find out the student competence difference in reading projection drawing in which the learning used 2 different methods; lecture method without computer and the one with computer. This research utilized experimental method with Randomized Control Groub Pretest-Posttest Design and also used test as the tool to collect research data. The sample of this research was 60 students taken from the population of it that was 116 students from Mechanical Engineering Education, Semarang State University year 2009. The learning used lecture method without computer increased student competence from not competent to be competent and increased die average score about 15,5. Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi campuran kadar air dengan limbah kotoran sapi dan posisi digester terhadap tekanan tertinggi gas yang dihasilkan. Digester terbuat dari galon air mineral 19 liter kemudian diisi slurry sebanyak 9,5 liter. Pengukuran tekanan gas menggunakan manometer U terbuka. Waktu pengamatan dilakukan selama 10 hari. Produksi tekanan biogas paling tinggi pada digester yang diletakkan merebah yaitu 1,095 atm dengan perbandingan kom-posisi campuran air : kotoran = 60 : 40 dan paling rendah yaitu 1,043 atm dengan perbandingan komposisi campuran air : kotoran = 30 : 70. Produksi tekanan biogas paling tinggi pada digester yang diletakkan berdiri yaitu 1,065 atm dengan perband-ingan komposisi campuran air : kotoran = 60 : 40 dan paling rendah yaitu 1,033 atm dengan perbandingan komposisi campuran air : kotoran = 30 : 70. Selisih tekanan antara digester yang diletakkan merebah dengan berdiri rata-rata 0,021 atm. Ber-dasrkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa komposisi campuran kadar air dengan limbah kotoran sapi yang tepat terhadap tekanan tertinggi gas yang dihasil-kan adalah komposisi campuran air : kotoran = 60 : 40 dan ada pengaruh peletakan posisi digester berdiri dan merebah terhadap tekanan gas yang dihasilkan, dimana yang merebah menghasilkan tekanan gas yang lebih tinggi.AbstractThe purpose of this study to determine the effect of the water content of the mixture composi-tion with cow manure digester and the position of the highest pressure gas produced. Digester made of gallons of mineral water 19 liter slurry is then filled as much as 9.5 liters. Measure-ment of gas pressure using a manometer U is open. When the observations were made for 10 days. Production of the high pressure biogas digester placed at 1.095 atm lay down the composition of the mixture in the ratio of water: dung = 60: 40 and the low at 1.043 atm with a mixture composition ratio of water: dung = 30: 70. Production of the high pressure biogas digester that is placed on a stand that is a ratio of 1.065 atm water mixtures: muck = 60: 40 and the low at 1.033 atm with a mixture composition ratio of water: dung = 30: 70. The difference in pressure between the digester is placed standing leaned average 0.021 atm. Berdasrkan The research concluded that the water content of the mixture composition with cow manure right to the highest pressure of the gas produced is the composition of a mixture of water: dung = 60: 40 and no effect of laying position digester up and leaned against the pressure of the gas produced, where a lie down produce a higher gas pressure.

Abstract

Perancangan program pengatur kecepatan stepper motor dengan Visual Basic 6.0 melalui prosespembuatan algoritma dan flowchart yang didasarkan atas sistem kerja yang akan dilakukanprogram untuk mengedit dan menyimpan data perubahan kecepatan stepper motor pada database.Pengujian program yang dilakukan adalah pengujian menggunakan timer, tachometer dan ujivalidasi, hasil dari pengujian menggunakan timer didapat rata-rata waktu kecepatan rendah 12,33detik dengan rentang kecepatan input 50 pulsa/detik. Sedangkan dengan kecepatan tinggimenghasilkan waktu rata-rata 3,33 detik dengan rentan input 50 pulsa/detik. Pengujianmenggunakan tachometer dengan kecepatan rendah menghasilkan nilai rata-rata kecepatan 6,438rpm dengan rentang kecepatan input 50 pulsa/detik, kecepatan tinggi diperoleh hasil rata-ratakecepatan 24 rpm dengan rentang inputan 50 pulsa/detik. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwapengujian program kecepatan stepper motor menggunakan timer dan tachometer berjalan denganbaik dikarenakan hasil dari pengukuran menunjukan perbedaan kecepatan yang signifikan.the program design speed which name is stepper motor whit Visual Basic 6.0 the process through ofmaking algorithms and flowcharts which based on the work system that will be done by the programfor editing and store the data speed changing of stepper motor on the database. The testing programwhich be done is the testing program use the timer,tachometer and validation test. The result fromthe test using the timer which average of low speed time was 12,33 second with the input distant ofspeed 50 pulse/second. While if using the high speed will result average time 3,33 second with theinput distant 50 pulse/second. Test using tachometer with low speed resulting average grade of speed6,438 rpm with speed 24 rpm with the input distant 50 pulse/second, high speed was getting byaverage result of speed 24 rpm with the input distant 50 pulse/second. So, can be concluded thattesting program of speed which name is stepper motor using timer and tachometer running in thegood way that because of the result of measuring showing the difference of the significance speed.

Abstract

Small-scale wind turbines that operate at low wind speeds regularly will face yawing performance problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of stem length and tail shape on turbine performance through the power generated and the yawing angle and furling angle that formed. An experimental method was used in this research. Tail stem length variations that used were 0.35 m, 0.53 m and 0.71 m. The tail shape varies Rectangular, Trapezoidal, Triangular, Up Rectangular, Down Rectangular, Up Trapezoidal, Down Trapezoidal, Up Triangular and Down Triangular. Wind speed used in this case is 4.3 m/s, 4.8 m/s and 5.2 m/s. The tests carried out at Marina Beach, Semarang. Power measurements using a digital multimeter. Yawing and furling angle measurements using video recordings and measured using Solidworks. Wind speed measurements using a digital anemometer. The results showed that the best configuration is the triangular tail shape with 0,53 m of tail stem length. The power generated of this configuration has increased from wind speed of 4.3 m/s (0.816 Watt) to 4.8 m/s (1.140 Watt) and decreased at a wind speed of 5.2 m/s (1.081 Watt). This phenomenon is related to the design where at wind speed above 5 m/s, the design of furling mechanism will work to reduce the capture of wind energy by diverting the direction of the rotor towards the wind direction. So that the damage of the blade due to higher wind pressure can be minimized.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kekerasan yang dihasilkan dari pengecoran yang diberi pelakuan variasi temperature dan waktu tahan age hardening serta mengetahui ada tidaknya cacat porositas yang dihasilkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dengan metode eksperimental dengan memberikan perlakuan yang berbeda pada proses pengecoran dengan variasi temperatur 1250 C, 1750 C, 2250 C dan waktu tahan 3 jam, 5 jam, 7 jam dari age hardening. Pada uji kekerasan didapatkan nilai kekerasan tertinggi pada temperatur 2250 C sebesar 115,01 VHN, sedangkan terendah pada temperatur 1250 C sebesar 109,01 VHN. Sedangkan dari uji porositas, nilai porositas terendah pada temperatur 2250 C sebesar 11,02%, sedangkan nilai porositas tertinggi pada temperatur 1250 C sebesar 13,04%. Dilihat dari waktu tahannya nilai kekerasan tertinggi pada waktu 7 jam sebesar 125,07 VHN, sedangkan terendah terdapat pada waktu tahan 3 jam sebesar 97,9 VHN.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran memiliki peran penting dalam proses pembelajaran karoseri dan desain otomotif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat peraga aerodynamic wind tunnel dan menguji kelayakan alat peraga aerodynamic wind tunnel tersebut. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah research and development yaitu kegiatan yang dilakukan secara sistematis dengan mengembangkan produk yang baru atau produk yang sudah ada. Lalu data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif. Hasil data yang diperoleh alat peraga aerodynamic wind tunnel bisa menampilkan fenomena yang terjadi pada aliran udara terhadap model kendaraan secara langsung dan tidak memerlukan daya yang besar untuk mengoperasikannya.

Abstract

To improve electrical energy better, the design and optimization of micro scale wind turbines has become a very important element in research. The aims are improving the ability to capture power and maximize energy production properly. The object of this study was horizontal axis wind turbine performance testing with the configuration of types and numbers of NACA 3612 blade variation in terms of output power (W), efficiency (η) and tip speed ratio (TSR). The tests carried out in the laboratory using a wind tunnel. There are 8 variations of wind speed, 1.41 m/s, 1.76 m/s, 2.51 m/s, 3.74 m/s, 4.81 m/s, 5.50 m/s, 5.71 m/s and 6.11 m/s. The results showed that the best power value was a taperless type with 2 blades of 0.846 watts with a maximum rotating speed of 876.3 rpm at 6.11 m/s wind speed. For the best efficiency value obtained at 3.74 m/s wind speed on the type of taper with a number of 4 blades of 2.9% at TSR 4.778. While the maximum TSR occurs in the type of taper with a number of 3 blades of 6.256 at 3.74 m/s wind speed by testing without using a prony brake.

Abstract

Sootblower is a boiler support equipment that works to clean soot. Sootblower requires a strong construction to support the components in order to work optimally. Sootblower is also not free from several failures on its components, the main component that causes failure on the sootblower is the lance tube. This study aims to analyze the static construction and lance tube motorized rotary sootblower type sootblower using Solidworks software. The method used in this research is a simulation based on the finite element method. The material applied to the construction is St 37 and the material on the lance tube is ASTM A213 T92. The static simulation results show that the construction design of the angle iron measuring 35×35×6 mm has a max stress value of 57,50 N/mm2 that occurs in the bolt hole, a value of max displacement of 0,0146 mm on the rod supporting the bearing, and a factor of safety value of 4,08 so it is safe to use. Static simulation on the design of 40 NB diameter lance tube with four thickness variations shows the highest max stress value, the highest max displacement, and the lowest factor of safety occurs in the lance tube thickness of 10,2 mm, which has a max stress value of 276,24 N/mm2, max displacement of 335,53 mm and a factor of safety 1,59. Lance tubes with a thickness of 10,2 mm can be declared safe because the value of the factor of safety meets the minimum limit for static loading.
