Abstract

Degenerative disease is a disease that accompanies the aging process this disease occurs with age. Degenerative disease is a medical term used to describe a process of decline in nerve cell function without a known cause, from a previous normal state to a worse state. Several types of degenerative diseases include: osteoporosis, stroke, heart disease, gout, DM, cholesterol, obesity, etc. One of the causes of degenerative diseases is due to the acquisition of micro and macro nutrients that are not balanced. The wrong diet increases the risk of this disease. From the several types of diseases above, we can conclude that most of them are influenced by food consumption. People are now fond of consuming foods high in fat such as fried foods, junk food, instant foods. The purpose of this study was to see the relationship between respondent characteristics, nutritional status and degenerative diseases. This research is a cross sectional study, with the population as the target group of Posbindu activities at the Curug Health Center, Serang Regency, Banten and the number of samples is 124 elderly. The results showed that the majority of respondents were elderly 60-69 years as much as 78.2%. The majority of respondents have nutritional status with BMI in the normal category as much as 66.1%. Normal blood pressure (as much as 46.8% for systolic pressure and 45.2% for diastolic pressure). The respondent's cholesterol, blood sugar and uric acid levels are in normal conditions but must remain vigilant. There is no significant relationship between BMI (nutritional status) with age, sex, and systolic blood pressure. There is a significant relationship between systolic and diastolic blood pressure on age and gender in the elderly at the Curug Health Center, Serang Banten. Keywords: Nutritional Status, Degenerative Disease, Elderly

Abstract

Background. Covid-19 is a virus that can affect all age groups, including the elderly. The World Health Organization or WHO concluded that this virus is very risky in those aged over 65 years due to a weakened immune system. In addition, the elderly have a higher risk of experiencing a more severe impact than other groups due to degenerative diseases commonly experienced by the elderly. Implementing clean and healthy living behavior as a prevention effort is the main thing to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19. This study aims to determine the prevention behavior of Covid-19 in the elderly and the factors associated with it. Methods. The research design was cross sectional. The sample consisted of men and women aged 60 years or more as many as 135 people. The instrument used is a questionnaire distributed through social media. The data obtained were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using chi square test. results.There is a relationship between age and education with Covid-19 prevention behavior in the elderly with p values of 0.038 and 0.001 respectively. Conclusion. Age and education are related to Covid-19 prevention behavior in the elderly.  Keyword : COVID-19, Behavior, Degenerative Disease

Abstract

Health is one aspect of community life, quality of life, labor productivity, high morbidity and mortality rates in infants and children. Breastmilk (ASI) is the best food for babies, especially babies aged 0-6 months, whose function cannot be replaced by any food and drink. Breastfeeding is the fulfillment of the rights of every mother and child. The research used is a quantitative method with a "cross sectional" approach, with accidental sempling data collection techniques, using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The number of sempel was 100 respondents. This study used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that of the 100 samples studied, there were mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding as much as 45%. educate mothers who do not provide exclusive breastfeeding as much as 55%. based on the results of the study there is a significant relationship between maternal age, mother's education, mother's occupation, mother's parity and family income with exclusive breastfeeding. There are dominant factors that influence exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Pabuaran Public Health Center, Serang Regency.Keywords: Infants, exclusive breastfeeding, age, education, parity, work and income

Abstract

Background: Factors which are directly related to the food frequency is age, where at the age of 50 years the human body starts with health problems due to decreased organ function that affect to the food frequency and environment. In this condition of degenerative disease began to emerge, such as: arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, kidney, Alzheimer’s, digestive disorders and endocrine disorders/metabolic. Objective: To find out factors related to the food frequency for the pre-elderly and elderly at Posyandu Elderly Hatsera Kampung Gendeng RW 17 Sub Baciro, Gondokusuman District Yogyakarta. Methods: This study was based on observational research with cross sectional design, aimed to explore the factors that affect the variables that exist (education, income, self-sufficiency and types of degenerative diseases). The research sample was pre-seniors and seniors who met the study criteria. Data were analyzed by chi-square test. Total samplings were 61 people. Results: The samples were consisting of pre-elderly and elderly aged 45-57 years were 29 people (47.5%) and aged 58-69 years were 32 people (52.5%). Analysis of data with the level of significant 95% (α= 0,05) obtained are: 1. There was correlation between education with food frequency (p=0.045), the significance of these variables were moderate (c=0.322). 2. The correlation between income with food frequency (p=0.047), the significance of these variables were moderate (c=0.397). 3. There was correlation between self-sufficiency with food-frequency (p=0.003), the significance of these variables were moderate (c=0.458). 4. There was correlation between types of degenerative diseases with food-frequency (p=0.016), the significance of these variables were moderate (c=0.365). Conclusion: There were significant correlation between levels of education, income, self-sufficiency, and types of degenerative diseases with food frequency.Key words: Food frequency pre-elderly and elderly, education, income, self-sufficiency, types of degenerative diseases.
