Majalah dinding atau biasa disebut Mading adalah salah satu media komunikasiyang ditempel di dinding. Mading merupakan media komunikasi dan informasi yang mudah dan murah. Kemudahan tersebut karena Mading dapat dibuat oleh siapa saja yang mempunyai kemampuan dan kemauan untukitu, terutama bagi siswa dan guru di sekolah. Kemurahan terjadi karena Mading memang mudah dibaca tanpa harus mengeluarkan biaya. Itulah yang disebut dengan Mading sekolah. Mading sekolah diciptakan tentulah memiliki fungsi dan tujuan tertentu, yaitu sebagai sarana informasi, media hiburan, menjalin tali persaudaraan, mengembangkan kreativitas, menumbuhkan sikap kritis terhadap mata pelajaran tertentu, dan meningkatkan wawasan sosial. Dengan demikian, Mading di sekolah diharapkan mampu membawa sisiwa untuk mengembangkan kreativitasnya yang tertuang dalam pengembangan kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Mading di sekolah terdiri dari Mading kelas dan Mading sekolah, keduanya bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan penguasaan mata pelajaran siswa di kelas tertentu. Untuk itu, dalam pengembangannya guru hendaklah menjadi pembimbing bagi siswanya di sekolah baik dalam proses membuat naskah, mengelola naskah, sampai pada teknik pemajangannya. Diharapkan guru memiliki sifat telaten, sabar, namun juga tegas. Itu semua karena diharapkan Mading sekolah dapat terwujud.

This study aimed to identify and analyze instructional media that need to be developed and optimized for fifth-grade students in Elementary School in Seberang Ulu 2 districts in Palembang. This research implemented a mixed-method design with a qualitative and quantitative approach and the explanatory model. We distributed a questionnaire towards 121 students through Google Forms and also interviewed nine teachers and nine students. We found that: (1) regarding needs for the development instructional media to improve reading comprehension skills, 45% teachers agreed that it was very necessary and 64% students agreed that it was necessary, (2) regarding interest towards electronic story calendar media, 56% teachers agreed that it was interesting and 49% students agreed that it was very interesting, and (3) regarding needs for the development of electronic story calendar media about the national hero, 56% teachers agreed that it was very necessary and 50% students agreed that it was necessary.

Thematic learning, especially thematic integrative, basically requires the optimization of the use of varied learning media so that it will help students in understanding the concepts of material which are abstract. Therefore, the use of learning media is important in learning. This study aims to reveal: 1) the eligibility of Dakon-themed game media on the topic “Where I Live”, and 2) the effectiveness of Dakon-themed game media in improving the curiosity of grade IV students of elementary school. This development research was conducted in Kulonprogo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia and developed the media according to the 10 steps developed by Borg and Gall. The testing subjects consisted of 9 students in the initial field trial phase, 34 students in the main field trial and 74 students in the operational field trial which were divided into experimental and control groups. The data collection was trough tests, expert rating scale and response questionnaire. The effectiveness of the media of media on the theme of topic Where I live in improving the curiosity of analytical students with N-gain, and t-test with an alpha level of 0.05.The results reveal that: (1) the developed Dakon-theme on the topic Where I Live meets the eligibility criteria based on the results of the validation with very feasible criteria; and (2) the developed game is effective in improving curiosity of the fourth grade students of elementary schools.

The development of speaking ability for children is very important so that children could adapt and socialize with friends. This research aimed to determine the influence of picture book on children speaking ability aged of 4-5 years. The type of the research was quasi-experiment. The subjects of this study were the children of group A in Pringwulung kindergarten Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data collection used an observation sheet, and then analyzed using the t-test through SPSS 16 program to see the differences in speaking ability between the two groups. The result of the research was that there is a significant influence on the improvement of children's speaking ability through picture book of preschool children in Pringwulung kindergarten Yogyakarta. The recommendations of this research can be used by teachers, parents, education practitioners in order to provide an optimal stimulation to the development of children's speaking ability.

Abstract:This study aimed to (1) produce a module of children literature based on nationalism character to improve the critical thinking ability of the fourth grade students of MIN Boyolali, and (2) measure the effectiveness of the module used in classroom toward critical thinking ability of the fourth grade students of MIN Boyolali. Set within the research and development type, this study adapted the development procedure formulated by Borg and Gall (1983). Data were collected through interview and observation, product validation, questionnaire of the teacher and the students’ response, and the result of pre-test and post-test which was analyzed using independent sample t-test. Meanwhile, the effectiveness was tested through quasi experiment. The result of the research showed that the module was categorized as “fit” by material and language expert; while the media expert categorized it as "very fit". In the other hand, the teacher and the students’ responses to the use of learning module were categorized as "excellent". Further, the output of the independent sample t test showed that the module was effective to improve the students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan modul sastra anak berdasarkan karakter nasionalisme untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV MIN Boyolali, dan (2) mengukur efektivitas modul yang digunakan di kelas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV MIN Boyolali. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian pengembangan yang mengadaptasi prosedur pengembangan yang dirumuskan oleh Borg dan Gall (1983). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi, validasi produk, kuesioner dari guru dan respon siswa, dan hasil pre-test dan post-test yang dianalisis menggunakan independent sample t-test. Sementara itu, keefektifannya diuji melalui eksperimen semu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul dikategorikan “cocok” oleh ahli materi dan bahasa; sedangkan pakar media mengategorikannya "sangat pas". Di sisi lain, respons guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan modul pembelajaran dikategorikan "sangat baik". Selanjutnya, hasil dari uji t sampel independen menunjukkan bahwa modul ini efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa

Aged Children Education (EACE) is a part ofpreshool education. The matter of the education, particularly, has been drawn up in government regulation 2003 in the point 28 part I. The regulation stated that EACE is conducted before the elementary education. In developing a language, the teacher needs to have·aknowledge ofthe language development and~he developing oflanguage. Children's language developmenttest in the periodes. The fIrst periode is the pre-lingustic periode which are 0-2 months ofphonation stage in which children learn pronounce the vocal symbols, 2-4 months ofgoing stage, 4-7 months ofexpansion stage in which children begin to produce some new sounds, 7-10 months of cononical stage, 10-14 months of contraction stage in wihch children leam to imitate same sound they listen to. The second is the linguistic period. It includes 12 month children in holofrase periode in which children are able to express a sentence consisting of 3-6 words, 2-3 year children may use the widernouns with the vocabulary of 350 words, 3 year children have vocabulary of 200-300 words. 4 year children are able to use a langusge with the correct stucture and with the vocabulary of 1400-1600 words. 5-6 year children have a correct order of language. The technique ofdeveloping language in schools can be: (a) maximizing natural communication for children, (b) considering the silent period on the early ofthe learning program, (c) using the concrete reference so that 2nd language can be comprehended by children, (d) using the meaning full phrase when the teacher is teaching dialogues, (e) avoiding teaching structure to children, (t) avoiding retenng the LI when teaching L2.

Early reading is an essential skill that is needed to be accelerated through application-based media. This study aims to develop Pancalis as a medium for the online teaching of early reading. This study used the Research and Development (RD) approach using the ADDIE model. The subjects were two experts as well as 18 teachers and five students of elementary schools. They were established using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used questionnaires and scales. The data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results show that: 1) at the analysis stage through literature study, it can be concluded that Pancalis as an Android-based application is an alternative learning media for the teaching of early-reading; while the result of field study shows teachers and students need learning media for early reading that can accommodate distance learning; 2) at the design stage, the Pancalis as an Android-based application for early-reading has been produced; 3) while at the end of the development stage, an assessment was carried out through an expert validation scale and it was found that the Pancalis is very suitable for the teaching of early-reading; while the practicality response questionnaire of teachers and students shows that Pancalis is very practical to use.

Sastra (puisi) anak-anak dapatlah dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan evaluasi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesiadi SD. Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berdasarkan kurikulum 1994 yang berpandangan whole language menyarankan bahwa evaluasi yang dapat digunakan yakni evaluasi proses dan hasil. Evaluasi yang dimaksud haruslah sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran sastra,yakni siswa dapat memahami dan mengapresiasi sastra dan kemampuan mempergunakan bahasayang pelaksanaan pembelajarannya dilakukan lewat keempat keterampilan berbahasa.Hal ini dapat dilakukan melalui bernyanyi,bercerita,menjawab pertanyaan mendeklamasikan, membaca, dan menulis. Berdasarkan sastra (puisi) yang disajikan guru secara langsung atau tidak langsung siswa dapat memberikan penilaian kepada masing-masing siswa sejak awal sampai akhir pembelajaranya itu dalam bentuk perintah dan ajakan guru kepada siswa.
