Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of RME on the spatial abilities of Year 8 students concerning cuboids and cubes. Geometry problems often experienced by junior high school students, such as difficulty knowing the difference between cuboids and cubes, difficulties showing elements of cuboids and cubes, and difficulty imagining cuboids and cubes in the case of rotation. The teacher should not underestimate it because it will impact the next level of learning. Besides, spatial abilities are closely related to other mathematical concepts. One alternative is using RME. This research employed the quasi-experimental method, and samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The two classes were selected as samples in this study: the experimental and the control classes. Before conducting the main analysis test, the pre-test score students were tested with the t-test. The initial conclusion was that there was no difference in the spatial ability of the experimental class and the control class. The main analytic test in the post-test was done using U-test. The post-test results show that the average score of the experimental class is higher than the control class; RME positively influences students' spatial abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to describe some of the mistakes made by students in solving set theory problems in the set and logic course. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were students of Tadris Mathematics STAI Muhammadiyah Probolinggo Semester I for the academic year 2021/2022. Data collection techniques used in this study were exams and interviews. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the subject made 9 types of errors, namely errors in determining the value of a quadratic equation, registering members of a set, writing mathematical notation, writing down sets, writing down members of Cartesian product, determining the intersection of two sets, determining the Cartesian product of two sets, determining the difference of the two sets, and determining the value of a quadratic inequality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi pembelajaran matematika berbasis daring kelas tinggi di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi eksplorasi. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur yang dijadikan data primer, sedangkan data sekunder berupa studi pustaka. Wawancara dilakukan dengan berkomunikasi melalui video call pada aplikasi WhatsApp yang berlangsung selama kurang lebih antara 10-20 menit. Penelitian ini mewawancarai 15 responden, yaitu 3 orang guru (kelas IV, V, VI), 6 orang wali murid (kelas IV, V, VI), serta 6 orang siswa (kelas IV, V, VI) yang berada di Kabupaten Pasuruan dengan sekolah berbeda. Dari hasil penelitian ini, untuk sekolah yang sudah menyediakan segala fasilitas teknologi yang bagus bagi guru, pembelajaran dengan sistem daring tidak menjadi masalah utama. Guru sudah terbiasa membuat media pembelajaran dengan bantuan teknologi. Namun ada juga sekolah yang sudah memiliki fasilitas teknologi yang cukup lengkap, tetapi sumber daya manusia yaitu guru-guru yang ada di sana tidak terlalu bagus. Sehingga guru-guru tersebut tidak bisa memanfaatkan teknologi yang ada untuk membuat media pembelajaran dengan baik. Sedangkan untuk sekolah yang tidak memiliki fasilitas lengkap, para guru hanya bisa memanfaatkan handphone android untuk membuat grup kelas online dan meminta peserta didik untuk mengerjakan latihan soal yang ada di buku LKS peserta didik.

Abstract

The learning media used by teachers at MI Darul Ulum in improving students' reading skills, especially class I, still uses the syllable method so that students can only recognize letters and memorize some syllables. To overcome this, all researchers suggest using new media to improve students' reading skills. Drawing board media is media that consists of picture elements and can be disassembled with tools using small nails. These problems are discussed through Classroom Action Research (CAR) using two cycles. The results obtained from this study are that the use of drawing board media can improve the reading ability of MI Darul Ulum class 1 students with a total of 9 students. This can be proven from the significant increase in students' learning mastery and classical absorption from the two cycles that have been carried out, the indications are the increase in the average score of pre-cycle students, namely 58%, cycle I 72%, cycle II 83%. Likewise, the percentage of students' classical learning completeness also experienced a lot of improvement, namely 33% in the pre-cycle, 56% in the first cycle and 100% in the second cycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the moral development tried by Islamic religious learning educators at SMP Negeri 2 Dringu, Probolinggo Regency,recognize supporting aspects and obstacles to strengthening student ethics at SMP Negeri 2 Dringu, Probolinggo Regency.The method used by the researcher is qualitative, where this method is more of a description, which is intended to describe the information contained in the research position. Procedures for collecting information through observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis of information uses methods of reduction, presentation of information and drawing conclusions. The results of the deepening show thatstrategies for islamic learning educators at SMP Negeri 2 Dringu, Probolinggo Regency, to strengthen student ethics, including mentoring strategies, supervision or monitoring strategies, adjustment strategies, linkages, using reward strategies and supporting aspects as well as barrier aspects to strengthen the morals of students of SMP Negeri 2 Dringu, Probolinggo Regency,The supporting aspect is the school's habit that is suitable for the moral development of students and has a vision, mission and purpose that is in harmony. On the contrary, the barrier aspect is the conflicting background of students, the lack of a balance between the school area, the family area and the residents' area, obstacles arise from the students themselves.

Abstract

This scientific work is a study of literature that discusses the effect of the Problem-Based Learning learning model on students' mathematical reasoning abilities based on various information such as books, journals, articles, and other scientific works. Five journals are used as a source of theory in this study, so the data or theory used is relatively straightforward and accurate. The method used in this scientific work is library research. The source of information was obtained from a study of 5 selected journals about the effect of Problem-Based Learning learning models on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. From this study, data was obtained that learning using the problem-based learning model positively influenced students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Therefore, using the PBL learning model can be a solution and strategy for solving problems found in life. The PBL model can be an innovative and varied solution in implementing classroom learning to improve students' mathematical reasoning and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study was to assess the numerical literacy abilities of eighth-grade students at MTs Miftahul Ulum in applying problem-solving skills to number concepts on a question-by-question basis. The research followed a qualitative methodology, and the participants consisted of 15 students from the VIIIA class at MTs Miftahul Ulum. The data were analyzed based on Polya's stages of problem-solving and numeracy literacy indicators. Data collection methods included numeracy literacy tests, interviews, and documentation. The results indicated that a significant proportion of students demonstrated a moderate level of numeracy literacy, while some students showed low or high levels of proficiency. Generally, the understanding stage had higher percentages of students who demonstrated comprehension. However, the planning and implementation stages varied across different questions. By focusing on the specific stages where students struggled or excelled, teachers can adapt their instructional approaches to better address students' needs. Keywords: Numerical Literacy, Polya, Numbers.

Abstract

Learning mathematics must experience changes in the context of improving the quality of education to improve optimal learning outcomes. Therefore, efforts continue to be made to realize innovative learning following the times and technology. In addition to harmonizing education with technological advances, education is also expected to build the values ​​and character of each student through local culture and religious values. The integration of mathematics with Islamic values ​​and local cultural wisdom developed through exploratory literature. This paper presents the idea of ​​formulating a method for integrating mathematics with local culture and integrating mathematics with religious values. This integration aims to make students more familiar with local cultures and motivate them to learn mathematics. The integration of mathematics with religious values ​​seeks to provide an overview of the interpretation of several verses of the Qur'an related to faith, which are then integrated into discussions in mathematics.

Abstract

There has been a change in the current learning system at all levels of education due to the coronavirus pandemic. This study aims to explore theoretically from bibliographic studies related to project-based learning during the Covid19 pandemic the impact on policies towards home learning activities. A bold learning system based on project-based learning that provides multiple ways to access learning materials for teachers and students. Many online learning platforms and media are available for free. Some free platforms that have been shown to be effective in solving learning difficulties include Google Classroom and Edmodo. There are at least 12 free online learning resource apps that can be used during the Covid19 pandemic, including Learning House, Icando, Desk Kita, Indonesia X, Smart Class, Google for Education, Microsoft Office 365, Quipper, Ruangguru, Zenius, Sekolahmu, and Cisco Webex. Several obstacles to the implementation of immersive learning include limitations of the internet and unfamiliar knowledge among teachers and students about the adoption of e-learning materials. Therefore, more effort is needed to address these issues starting with individuals, families, educational institutions, government providers and services. One learning approach that can be used to maximize daring learning is to adopt a learning project-based approach. This learning model gives students the opportunity to discuss concepts in depth, which can also improve their learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan metakognisi siswa kategori climber dalam menyelesaikan masalah trapesium dan proses jawaban siswa kategori climber dalam menyelesaikan masalah trapesium. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan tingkatan kemampuan metakognisi siswa kategori climber dalam menyelesaikan masalah trapesium. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 1 siswa kelas 7 SMP Namira dengan kategori climber berdasarkan kategori Adversity Quotient. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari tes esai dan wawancara. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa kemampuan penyelesaian masalah trapesium siswa dengan kategori climber berada pada tingkatan reflective use. Siswa kategori climber tidak hanya memiliki kesadaran untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan saja. Tetapi siswa tersebut mampu melakukan refleksi individu dalam proses berpikirnya ketika menyelesaikan masalah. Siswa melakukan refleksi individu sebelum, ketika, dan sesudah proses penyelesaian masalah dengan mempertimbangkan langkah selanjutnya dan melakukan perbaikan hasil pemikirannya. Siswa menyadari dan memperbaiki kesalahan yang dilakukan dalam langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kategori climber berada pada level reflective use berdasarkan level metakognisi.
