Abstract

Accident events in schools are very diverse, for example slipping which causes torn or bruised wounds, dislocation to fractures. A fracture is a breakdown of bone continuity due to a collision or blunt trauma from a particular object. Blunt trauma can cause fractures resulting in internal or external bleeding. To prevent injury to the musculoskeletal system, first aid is needed. This study aims to determine the effect of first aid health education on knowledge of fracture management in PMR members. The research design used was an experiment with a pre-experimental design, one group pretest-posttest design. This study uses nonrobability sampling technique with a purposive sampling approach. The study sample was 22 students who were members of the PMR. The instrument of this study was a questionnaire containing demographic data consisting of name, age, gender, class and duration in the organization and questionnaires about knowledge of fracture handling to be used at pretest and posttest. Data processing used the Mc Nemar statistical test with a significant level of α

Abstract

Diabetic Foot Infection (DFI) is one of the most frequent and severe complications in people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of DFI in type II DM patients. This research was a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional approach with a total sample of 53 wounds obtained through accidental sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The prevalence of DFI was 52.8%, based on the classification of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), there were three out of four categories, namely grade 1 (no infection), grade 2 (mild infection) and grade 3 (moderate infection). So it was concluded that type II DM patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) mostly have infections. So that every DM patient with DFU must be assessed for the possibility of infection Keywords: prevalence; diabetic foot infection; DM type II ABSTRAK Infeksi Luka Kaki Diabetik (LKD) merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang paling sering dan parah pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus (DM).

Abstract

One of the nursing diagnoses in upper respiratory tract infection is the ineffectiveness of airway clearance, and interventions that can be planned to improve airway clearance, namely chest physiotherapy (clapping and vibration). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing clapping and vibration for airway clearance in upper respiratory tract infection patients in Labuang Baji Regional Hospital Makassar. This research was an experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. Samples in the study of 16 patients with upper respiratory tract infection were determined by accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using an observation sheet. Data analysis used Mc Nemar test. The results showed that clapping and vibration were effective in increasing airway clearance (p = 0.000) and effective against indicators of airway clearance, namely decreased respiratory frequency (p = 0.031), decreased sputum production (p = 0,000) and ronchi (p = 0.001). It was concluded that clapping and vibration were effective in increasing airway clearance in upper respiratory tract infection patients. Keywords: clapping and vibration; clearance of the airway; upper respiratory tract infection ABSTRAK Salah satu diagnosa keperawatan yang muncul pada penyakit ISPA adalah ketidakefektifan bersihan jalan napas, dan intervensi yang dapat direncanakan untuk meningkatkan bersihan jalan napas yaitu pemberian fisioterapi dada (clapping dan vibration).
