Abstract

Obesity-related to the result of decreased reproduction. Obese women are more prone to abnormal anovulation and uterine bleeding, endometrial hyperplasia/cancer, infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy complications, compared to women of normal weight. This study aims to determine the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in the serum at various BMI (body mass index), also to determine the relationship and correlation between obesity and AMH levels in serum. The population in the study were women aged 20 years to 40 years with less BMI, Normal BMI and Obesity BMI. The study subjects were women between the ages of 20 to 40 years with a BMI less than 17-19.9, obesity BMI ≥ 25 and normal BMI 20-25 as controls. Height measurement, weight weighing, and BMI calculation carried out according to the standard and subject to approval. Taking blood samples for the examination of AMH levels carried out by the RSKI laboratory (Infection Special Hospital) Airlangga University. The results of the data processed with SPSS 25 with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Mann Whitney statistical analysis for different tests and Spearman analysis for the correlation test. The results of the study found homogeneous samples, there were no significant differences between the AMH levels of the less and obese groups with, p = 0.832 (p> 0.05). AMH levels in BMI were less (0.459 ± 0.112 ng / mL) than obesity BMI (0.432 ± 0.058 ng / mL), so it was concluded that AMH levels did not correlate with less BMI with obesity BMI, with a correlation value (r) = -0.105 (p = 0.643; p> 0.05). The results of this study concluded that body mass index not related and does not correlate with the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone in the serum.

Abstract

The need for halal cosmetics around the world is currently still an interesting issue to continue to be discussed, considering that there are still many cosmetics that are suspected to contain haram ingredients in them. One of the cosmetic products that are often used is perfume. The purpose of this study was to identify the alcohol content in perfume products derived from natural and synthetic materials and to determine the alcohol content in these perfume products. In this study, the gas chromatography method was chosen because with this method the analysis process can be carried out quickly, more efficiently, with high resolution, sensitive, relatively simple, and inexpensive. The tests carried out include qualitative and quantitative tests. The results of the qualitative test showed that all the perfume samples tested showed positive results containing alcohol. While the results of the quantitative test for determining the alcohol content showed the results of samples D and E which were perfumes derived from synthetic materials containing alcohol with levels of 7.9% and 5.7%, respectively. Sample D contains the highest percentage of alcohol. Based on the fatwa from the MUI, cosmetics are allowed to contain fermented fruit alcohol with a level of less than 0.5%.

Abstract

Optimizing coffee products with herbs is part of applying science to social life. Coffee products with herbs aim to maintain endurance during the pandemic and help improve the economic level of the community. The implementation method is by conducting socialization, development training and education for a massive and effective marketing strategy. This activity targets MSMEs in the Kemuning village which was attended by 20 groups of participants. Participants benefit from this training because they can do promotions with better and more targeted photos of product results so that they can attract more buyers' interest. The conclusion of this activity is the need for an active role from academics to channel their expertise, knowledge and ideas to help the community survive and develop, especially in the current pandemic era.

Abstract

Eleocharis dulcis is a swamp plant has potential as a traditional medicine. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of determining specific and non-specific parameters on simplicia and methanol extract of purun tikus’s stems. Determination of specific parameters includes organoleptic, macroscopic - microscopic tests, water soluble extract content, ethanol soluble extract content and phytochemical screening such as testing for alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids/triterpenoids. Determination of non-specific parameters includes drying shrinkage, determination of total ash content, acid insoluble ash content and heavy metal contamination. The results of the study on the specific parameters of  stem extract showed that the simplicia powder was light brown in color, had a characteristic odor that was not pungent and had a bitter taste and on microscopic examination only the simplicia could be observed epidermis, transport bundles, parenchyma and collenchyma fragments,. The results of the non-specific simplicia characterization test showed drying shrinkage of 8.91%, total ash content of 13.79%, acid insoluble ash content of 6.89%.  The results showed that both simplicia and methanol extract of purun tikus’s stems met the general requirements for specific and non-specific characteristics except for the total ash content of the simplicia which was declared not eligible.

Abstract

Abate powder In the field, the use of abate powder is still not well controlled, because the community feels that there has been a change in the quality of the water, such as taste, smell, and color. Papaya leaves can be processed and used as a natural mosquito repellent that is safe and inexpensive. Papain contained in papaya leaves has antitoxic properties even in low doses, when enters the body of Aedes aegypti mosquito larva it will cause a chemical reaction in the body's metabolic processes which can cause inhibition of growth hormone so that the larvae can’t grow into instar IV. Even the aftermath of the inability of the larva to grow resulted in death. This activity was carried out to empower the community in the utilization of papaya leaves as a natural larvicide to prevent the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever which is mediated by the Aedes aegypty

Abstract

Background: Acne (acne vulgaris) is still a major health problem. Treatment with antibiotics raises problems in the form of resistance, irritation, and immune hypersensitivity. Alternatives derived from natural ingredients are needed to avoid these problems, namely Dayak onions.Objective: To find out the activity of the ethanol extract of onion bulbs in inhibiting the growth of P. acnes based on the variation of the incubation time duration of the bacteria as well as the solvent.Method: Phytochemical screening tests looked for alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, steroids, tannins, and saponins. Testing of the extract’s ability to inhibit bacteria was carried out with variations in the incubation times (24 and 48 hours) and solvents, namely Na-CMC and DMSO. The bacteria growth inhibition test employed the well-diffusion method, and the resulting data was analyzed using SPSS software.Results: Dayak onion extract contains alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, and triterpenoids. Na-CMC solvent obtained the highest inhibition ability of Dayak onion extract at a concentration of 40% with an inhibition value of 10.12±1.840mm (24 hours), and 11.575±1.694 mm (48 hours) while DMSO solvent showed the highest inhibition at a concentration of 20% with inhibition values of 15.48±1.198 mm (24 hours) and 15.91±1.625 mm (48 hours). Interpretation of the results of the Wilcoxon test based on ranking showed a positive difference at 48 hours of incubation.Conclusion: The optimal incubation time of P. acnes was 48 hours with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as the best solvent. Intisari Latar belakang: Jerawat (acne vulgaris) masih menjadi masalah kesehatan utama. Penannganan dengan antibiotik memunculkan masalah berupa resistensi, iritasi hingga imunohipersensitivitas. Diperlukan alternatif yang berasal dari bahan alam untuk menghindari masalah-masalah tersebut, yaitu bawang dayak (Eleutherine americana Merr.). Tujuan: mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak etanol umbi bawang Dayak dalam menghambat pertumbuhan P. acnes berdasar variasi lama waktu inkubasi bakteri P. acnes dan variasi pelarut.Metode: Pengujian skrining fitokimia meliputi uji alkaloid, flavonoid, triterpenoid, tanin dan saponin. Pengujian aktivitas ekstrak dalam menghambat bakteri dilakukan dengan variasi waktu inkubasi yaitu 24 jam dan 48 jam, serta penggunaan pelarut yang berbeda yaitu Na-CMC dan DMSO. Uji penghambatan bakteri menggunakan metode difusi sumuran dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis data menggunakan SPSS.Hasil: Ekstrak bawang dayak mengandung alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid dan triterpenoid. Pengujian menggunakan pelarut Na-CMC didapatkan kemampuan hambat esktrak bawang dayak tertinggi pada konenstrasi 40% dengan nilai penghambatan 10,12±1,840mm (inkubasi 24jam) dan 11,575±1,694mm (inkubasi 48jam) sedangkan dengan pelarut DMSO didapatkan daya hambat tertinggi pada konsentrasi 20% dengan nilai penghambatan 15,48 ±1,198mm (inkubasi 24jam) dan 15,91±1,625mm (inkubasi 48jam). Interpretasi hasil dari uji Wilcoxon berdasarkan peringkat, menunjukkan perbedaan yang positif pada inkubasi 48 jam. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh waktu inkubasi optimal dari bakteri P. acnes adalah 48 jam dengan pelarut terbaik yang dapat digunakan adalah dimetil sulfoksida (DMSO).Kata kunci: Bawang Dayak, antibakteri, DMSO, Na-CMC, waktu inkubasi

Abstract

Masa inkubasi bakteri berbeda-beda tergantung jenis bakteri yang digunakan. Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) merupakan bakteri gram positif dengan masa inkubasi 24 jam dan 48 jam. Penetilian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari masa inkubasi P. acnes terhadap aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 96% umbi bawang dayak (E. palmifolia (L.) Merr.). Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi sumuran dengan 5 variasi konsentrasi yaitu 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40% dengan kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah Doksisiklin 30 µg/disk dan Na-CMC 0,5% sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil penelitian ekstrak etanol 96% umbi bawang dayak (E. americana Merr.) terhadap bakteri P. acnes diperoleh zona hambat berturut-turut 8,21±1,092; 6,89±1,160; 5,74±1,992; 8,71±2,392 dan 10,12±1,840 untuk 24 jam dan9,5±1,586; 8,912±1,888; 8,575±3,035; 9,6±1,810 dan 11,575±1,694 untuk 48 jam. Hasil menunjukkan masa inkubasi bakteri P.acnes berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol 96% umbi bawang dayak (E. americana Merr.). Kata Kunci: Bawang Dayak, 24 Jam, 48 Jam, Zona Hambat, Metode Sumuran The incubation time for bacteria varies depending on the type of bacteria used. Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) is a gram-positive bacterium with an incubation period of 24 hours and 48 hours. This study aims to determine the effect of the incubation period of P. acnes on the antibacterial activity of the 96% ethanol extract of Dayak onion (E. palmifolia (L.) Merr.) bulbs. Antibacterial activity testing used the well-diffusion method with 5 concentration variations, namely 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40% with the positive control used being Doxycycline 30 µg/disk and 0.5% Na-CMC as a negative control. The results of the 96% ethanol extract of Dayak onion (E. americana Merr.) bulbs against P. acnes bacteria obtained inhibition zones of 8.21 ± 1.092; 6.89±1.160; 5.74±1.992; 8.71 ± 2.392 and 10.12 ± 1.840 for 24 hours and 9.5 ± 1.586; 8,912±1,888; 8.575±3.035; 9.6±1.810 and 11.575±1.694 for 48 hours. The results showed that the length of incubation time for P.acnes bacteria affected the antibacterial activity of the 96% ethanol extract of Dayak onion (E. americana Merr.) bulbs.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman kelapa (Cocos nucifera) memiliki banyak manfaat sebagai alternatif pengobatan di masyarakat, salah satunya di Kelurahan Cempaka, Kota Banjarbaru. Ibu-ibu daerah Kelurahan Cempaka di RT 30 mayoritas Bertani serai dan kunyit walaupun daerahnya meliliki perkebunan terbanyak kedua di Kelurahan Cempaka, Banjarbaru. Permasalahan yang ada di daerah mitra adalah belum dimanfaatkannya secara optimal hasil panen kelapa yang dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan dalam mengolah potensi tanaman ini. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk menstimulasi pemanfaatan kelapa menjadi produk VCO dengan kombinasi kunyit atau sereh yang ditanam sendiri. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pembinaan langsung pada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan praktik pembuatan produk. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada 27 November 2023 pada pukul 10.00-12.30 WITA di Rumah Ketua KWT yang dihadiri 20 peserta yang merupakan ibu kelompok wanita tani, ibu ketua KWT dan mahasiswa. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan lancar dengan antusiasme peserta yang cukup tinggi dan aktif terutama pada sesi pelatihan pemasaran secara digital. Pengetahuan dari peserta pun menunjukkan hasil yang meningkat karena materi dapat diterima dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Kelapa, VCO, Kelurahan Cempaka, Pemasaran Digital  ABSTRACT The coconut plant (Cocos nucifera) has many benefits as an alternative treatment in the community, one of which is in Cempaka Village, Banjarbaru City. The majority of women from the Cempaka Village area in RT 30 farm lemongrass and turmeric even though the area has the second largest number of plantations in Cempaka Village, Banjarbaru. The problem in partner areas is that the coconut harvest has not been utilized optimally due to a lack of knowledge in processing the potential of this plant. This activity was carried out to stimulate the use of coconut into VCO products with a combination of self-grown turmeric or lemongrass. This community service is carried out using direct guidance to the community through counseling and product manufacturing practices. This community service was carried out on November 27 2023 at 10.00-12.30 WITA at the KWT Chair's House which was attended by 20 participants who were women from the women's farmer group, the KWT chair and students. This activity ran smoothly with participants' enthusiasm being quite high and active, especially in the digital marketing training session. The participants' knowledge also showed increased results because the material was well received. Keywords: Kelapa, VCO, Cempaka Village, Digital Marketing
