Abstract

Faktor kemiskinan menjadi alasan bagi kebanyakan masyarakat untuk menjadi TKW (Tenaga Kerja Wanita).  Salah satu bentuk resiko tersebut adalah terjadinya perpecahan atau konflik dalam rumah tangga.  Demikian juga pada diri anak.  Terjadinya salah asuh sering terjadi dalam kehidupan anak-anak TKW karena hilangnya peran ibu. Teori pertukaran dalam Sosiologi  melihat perkawinan sebagai suatu proses pertukaran antara hak dan kewajiban serta “penghargaan”. Selain itu   teori Sosiobiologis juga  menyatakan bahwa secara biogram pria lebih cocok untuk bekerja mencari nafkah dan wanita mengasuh anak-anak. Penelitian  dilakukan di Dusun Turus, Desa Tanggulturus, Kecamatan Besuki Kabupaten Tulungagung.    Dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam  didapatkan hasil bahwa pola komunikasi dan pola asuh pada keluarga TKW terutama pada  di mana sang anak sudah ditinggal ibunya pergi sejak masih kecil maka pola komunikasi bersifat linier sehingga pola asuh tidak berjalan dengan baik dalam keluarga tersebut.   Pola komunikasi yang dilakukan antara suami dengan istrinya yang menjadi TKW selama ini jarang sekali berkomunikasi dengan intens.  Banyak hal yang tidak dikomunikasikan di antara pasangan TKW tersebut.

Abstract

Instagram adalah platform media sosial yang berkembang, menyediakan sarana ekspresi diri dan komunikasi melalui visual yang kreatif. Bisnis menanggapi tren ini dengan menggunakannya sebagai alat pemasaran yang hemat biaya. Paper ini meneliti akun merek makanan dalam level Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) Indonesia pada sektor makanan dan minuman yang terkemuka di Instagram: @bittersweet_by_najla, @basoaciakang, @seblakasgar_official, @pentolgila, @jagungnyumi. Akun tersebut dipilih berdasarkan followers yang telah mencapai puluhan ribu bahkan ratusan ribu dan cukup populer di masyarakat. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis elemen foto apa yang digunakan merek UKM makanan terkemuka di instagram sebagai pemasaran dan taktik komunikasi? Kemudian kepribadian merek seperti apa yang digambarkan oleh foto yang diposting tersebut? Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis isi. Terdapat 50 sampel foto untuk masing-masing merek yang kemudian diklasifikasikan menurut 11 elemen: produk, orang dan produk, orang dan produk, humor dan produk, peristiwa dunia, resep, kampanye tanpa produk, buatan pengguna, regram dari selebriti, dan video. Temuan penelitian adalah: mereka menggunakan instagram untuk mempromosikan keunggulan dan menjual produk. Tidak semua dari 11 elemen dimunculkan. Hanya sekitar lima elemen yang tampil secara dominan antara lain: video yang interaktif, produk dan promo, humor, consumer generated, person dan product. Kesemuanya untuk membangun dan mengekspresikan karakter kepribadian masing-masing merek.

Abstract

Facebook provides users comfort in communicating even though they cannot see expressions or any other nonverbal signs, which have been an essential factor in supporting face-to-face communication. Therefore, this research is necessary because the absence of nonverbal communication, especially facial expression, touching, and gesture, renders the communication process between individuals ineffective and uncomfortable, as it was when people first used email to communicate via the internet. Through the study of Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) perspectives, nonverbal communication, Social Presence Theory and Lack of Social Context Cues theory, this paper will discuss forms of nonverbal communication in the digital era. This study is based on research conducted by researchers using the netnography method and carried out through literature studies. The research was conducted on the Muslim community Bening Society on Facebook because the communication between them is very intense, as required in netnography. The loss of nonverbal communication in interpersonal communication does not, in fact, reduce netizens’ comfort in communicating and interacting. The emergence of digital emoticons and nonverbals is a substitute for nonverbal communication because digital emoticon and nonverbal functions in mediated interpersonal communication are the same as nonverbal communication.

Abstract

Many private radio businesses have experienced a decline in advertising revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, this did not happen to Radio Sritanjung FM Banyuwangi, which implemented mediamorphosis to support its broadcasts. This study aims to map the application of mediamorphosis in supporting the broadcast of cultural programs on Radio Sritanjung FM, Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. This study used a qualitative virtual ethnographic method, which requires researchers to enter two research areas: the natural world and the virtual world. Researchers interacted freely with eight informants, such as Using-ethnic figures, Muslim leaders, radio station management, local advertisers, and loyal listeners through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to understand the ongoing mediamorphosis process in a virtual network. The research analysis using network society theory shows that the mediamorphosis process of Radio Sritanjung FM began in 2011 with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The latest technology application is audio streaming to support, promote, and disseminate the Using’s ethnic culture to foreign countries. The application of mediamorphosis during the COVID-19 pandemic presents a harmonization between cultural programs and Islamic religious values, strengthening the local identity of the Using-ethnicity, and increases financial benefits.

Abstract

Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (KTI) adalah film kontroversial karena mengandung adegan perilaku seksual menyimpang (homoseksual). Studi ini menelusuri pro dan kontra yang terjadi di Facebook dan Instagram pada komentar netizen akibat munculnya petisi online boikot film LGBT. Metode penelitian dalam studi ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi virtual. Peneliti terlibat secara partisipatif dalam dinamika perdebatan virtual dengan menggunakan akun media sosial pribadi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan penelusuran virtual dan wawancara online kepada delapan orang informan yang telah menonton film tersebut. Studi ini menemukan dua jenis petisi yang memboikot dan mendukung film KTI, dengan jumlah pendukung petisi boikot yang jauh lebih banyak dari penolak petisi boikot. Kubu pro boikot menilai bahwa tema perilaku seksual menyimpang sengaja dibuat untuk kepentingan festival, tidak memiliki nilai edukasi, sehingga tidak layak ditonton secara bebas. Kubu kontra boikot menilai bahwa film KTI harus dihargai sebagai karya seni tanpa perlu melihat konten LGBT. Kontroversi film KTI dengan konten perilaku seksual menyimpang menjadi nilai jual dengan mengabaikan dampak buruk bagi moralitas penonton.AbstractKucumbu Tubuh Indahku (KTI) is a controversial film because it contains scenes of deviant sexual behavior (homosexual). This study explores the pros and cons of Facebook and Instagram on netizen comments due to the emergence of online petitions boycotting LGBT films. The research method in this study is qualitative with a virtual ethnographic approach. Researchers are participative involved in the dynamics of virtual debates using personal social media accounts. Data collection uses virtual searches and online interviews with eight informants who have watched the film. This study found two types of petitions that boycotted and supported the KTI film, with a much higher number of supporters of the boycott petition than those who rejected the boycott petition. The pro-boycott group considered that the using theme of deviant sexual behavior in KTI was for the festival's sake, had no educational value, so it was not worthy of being watched freely. The counter-boycott group considered that audience should appreciate KTI film as a work of art without seeing LGBT content. Thus, the controversy over the KTI film with the content of deviant sexual behavior becomes a selling point by ignoring the negative impact on the audience's morality.

Abstract

Di awal tahun 2021 terdapat salah satu berita yang sempat menjadi headline di berbagai media yaitu berita mengenai pemberlakuan SKB 3 Menteri. Salah satu poin utama SKB 3 Menteri ini menyangkut peraturan mengenai penggunaan seragam dan atribut keagamaan di lingkungan sekolah yang menimbulkan berbagai respon dari masyarakat. Untuk menganalisis fenomena ini, maka digunakan teknik analisis framing yang melihat penekanan pada seleksi isu dan/atau penonjolan aspek-aspek tertentu dari realitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pemberitaan mengenai SKB 3 Menteri tentang Atribut Sekolah ini dibingkai oleh Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Republika.co.id membuat bingkai bahwa SKB 3 Menteri merupakan peraturan yang bermasalah terutama ketika diterapkan di Indonesia sebagai negara yang berlandaskan asas Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa, sedangkan bingkai yang dibentuk Kompas.com yakni sebenarnya yang menjadi permasalahan terletak pada unsur pemaksaan pada penggunaan atribut agama yang tidak sesuai dengan keyakinan seseorang, bukan melarang pengggunaan seragam dengan atribut agama di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

The growth in the number of netizens is now the impact of increasingly easy internet penetration and high penetration of social media that is easily accessed via smartphone gadgets. Research conducted by Candrasari (2016) states that female internet users cannot be separated from their social media. Within a day of 2-3 hours, his time is spent accessing digital media. Therefore digital competencies are needed for girls to avoid the negative effects of the internet. The purpose of this study is to get a picture of the competence of adolescent girls. Digital competence is a form of using technology safely and critically to facilitate work, get entertainment and to communicate (E. Encabo & Murcia, J: 2011: 166). This research was conducted on adolescent girls in Surabaya with qualitative research methods. Data obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the digital competence of adolescent girls is still not good, especially in the categories of skills using the internet, information management and responsibility for using internet which is still low. Abstract

Students with special needs have the right to pursue an education as equal as the other regular students so they are able to develop their self potentials and socialize with common societies. Therefore, there are 25 inclusive schools (Non- SLB) spread around Surabaya since 2009, helping to break the education gaps for these students. Students with special needs are classified into those who are deaf or mentally disabled, have learning difficulties, slow learners, and down-syndromes. Students with above average IQ are put into considerations and becoming the main reason to be in acceptance of students with special needs in order to receive the equal education with the regular students. At SMP 29 Surabaya, there are currently 52 students with special needs studying in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the hope of getting the equal subject materials with the ones that regular students have. In this case being the subject’s teacher, teachers are required to have certain pedagogical competency. Implementing pedagogical communication requires certain mastery of psychological and interpersonal communication for the students. Irwin Altman and Damas Taylor proposed a social penetration theory that is related to interpersonal relations and internal cognitive developments. The methodology of this study was conducted with descriptive-qualitative through in-depth interviews, both for regular teachers and competent teachers suited with classification of students with special needs. The results of the study found that there is a need for supervision by teachers who have certain competency of pedagogical communication of students with special needs, especially with the aim to help developing students' confidence and discover their potential, both through primary and secondary communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai analisis framing berita demonstrasi UU Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja pada media daring Tempo.co dan Republika.co.id periode Oktober 2020. Paradigma yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu paradigma konstruktivis dengan menggunakan metode analisis framing Robert N. Entman yang memiliki perangkat analisis yaitu pendefinisian masalah, penentuan penyebab masalah, penentuan keputusan moral, dan penyelesaian masalah. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa antara Tempo.co dan Republika.co.id membingkai peristiwa yang sama yaitu demonstrasi UU Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja secara berbeda. Pada Tempo.co cenderung mendukung adanya aksi unjuk rasa yang dilakukan demonstran dengan memilih frame berita yaitu demonstrasi merupakan bentuk perjuangan demonstran. Sedangkan frame yang dikonstruksi oleh Republika.co.id cenderung menentang adanya aksi unjuk rasa ini dengan menyeleksi frame yaitu demontrasi sebagai bentuk anarkisme demonstran.

Abstract

The rapid growth of internet resulted in increasing internet users in Indonesia. Today the internet is easily found in Indonesian family homes. Therefore, many early age children who already know the internet. Even the children are deliberately facilitated by their parents to be able to easily access the internet. The condition is of course very worrying because of the impact of the internet is also great for the development of children. Some studies also illustrate that the internet disrupts relationships within the family. This study examines how Mother's role in protecting her children against the invasion of the internet. This study uses a Computer-Mediated-Communication (CMC) perspective which states that computers have changed the shape of human social relationships. This brings with it social and cultural consequences in human life. This research was conducted by using the qualitative method with maternal and child analysis unit as a research subject. The technique of data retrieval is done by using in-depth interview and observation participant whereas technique analyzes data use descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that Mother still assesses the existence of the internet in the house needed to support the activities of his children, including in helping complete school tasks. Therefore, parents easily provide support facilities so that their children can easily access the internet. Furthermore, this research also shows that in performing assistance there are three categories that apply the rules in using the internet, doing active mediation, and activity online together.
