Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of constructive play and the level of independence on prior knowledge of mathematics. The research method used is experimental. The research findings show that there is an effect of constructive play and the level of independence on early mathematical knowledge. In addition, there is also an interaction between constructive play and the level of independence towards early mathematical knowledge. In the group of children with a high level of independence, the use of Cuisenaire block constructive games resulted in higher initial mathematical knowledge compared to the group of children who were given geometric puzzle constructive games. On the other hand, in the group of children with a low level of independence, the early mathematical knowledge of the children who were given the Cuisenaire block constructive game was lower than the group of children who were given the geometric puzzle constructive game. Therefore, the Cuisenaire block constructive game is suitable for children with a high level of independence, while the geometric puzzle constructive game is more suitable for children with a low level of independence.

Abstract

There are still many teachers who carry out learning as a routine and formality only. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of achievement motivation on work commitment at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The research sample consisted of 30 teachers, and the sample was determined randomly (simple random sampling). Data collection uses a questionnaire to measure work commitment variables and achievement motivation. The questionnaire provided a statement with alternative answers; always, often, sometimes, and never. The measurement scale uses a Likert scale. Quantitative data analysis techniques using statistics with the help of the SPSS program and Microsoft Office Excel. The research findings show that achievement motivation makes a significant contribution to teacher work commitment at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang by 46.6%. This means that the higher the achievement motivation, the higher the teacher's work commitment. Conversely, the lower the achievement motivation, the lower the work commitment. To achieve teacher work commitment, it can be done by trying to increase achievement motivation for teachers.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the teacher certification program policy (PPG) on English teachers toward their classroom management for English teachers in one public university in Palembang. Gender, age, teaching experience, and school level have been assumed to have a contribution to the participants in managing their classes. The study was designed as a quantitative method with a survey approach by distributing the questionnaire that consists of demographic background information and Attitudes and Beliefs in Classroom Control Inventory (ABCC) by Martin, Yin, and Baldwin (1998) as the data. Logistic regression and T-Test using SPSS 24 had done to analyze the data. The results showed that most participants chose instructional management as the best method in classroom management. Then teaching experience had considered having a high contribution to English certified teacher of PPG to manage the class as defined by Sokal, Smith, and Mowat (2003). This study discovered school level also contributed to participants in classroom management. Though the results showed that all the factors have contributed, the researcher did not find a significant difference between English teachers of PPG in classroom management classified by gender, age, teaching experience, and school level in the T-Test.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the results of the analysis regarding lecturer competence in practical learning at universities in the health sector. Lecturer competence is the variable studied with indicators including pedagogical competence, personality competence, social and professional competence. The method used in this research uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The data collection technique uses primary data from a sample of 50 students with a sampling technique using cluster sampling. Data collection uses instruments that have passed the validity and reliability process. Data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this research indicate that overall, the average lecturer competency of all indicators is categorized as adequate with a score of 2.94 and an achievement level of 73.60. Only one of the four lecturer competency indicators, namely personality competency, received good criteria, while the other three received sufficient categories.
