Abstract

The study aims at exploring the final examination test items to identify the quality of the test items as an evaluation instrument. The study is descriptive quantitative research that pursues the document analysis to view the Final Semester Examination test item characteristics of Pancasila and Civic Education in Grade VIII of State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 or MTs Negeri 3) in the Regency of Gunungkidul, the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region, within the 2020/2021 Academic Year. In analyzing the data that have been collected, the researchers have adopted the approach of Item Response Theory (*IRT) using the R Program assistance. The results of the study show that the Final Semester Examination test items of Pancasila and Civic Education are more appropriate to be analyzed by using the SPL Model. The degree of difficulty for these items falls into the “Good” quality within the range -4.0 until +4.0. On the contrary, the item discrimination capacity ranges between 0.079 and 4.891 with the “Moderate” quality.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in education has caused the learning curriculum to experience replication. Not only in delivering learning material, but replication also occurs in the learning assessment process. Teachers are required to be able to carry out an objective assessment of learning in all subjects. This study aims to determine teacher difficulties and explore alternative assessments used by teachers in mathematics learning in the pandemic era. This research is a qualitative study using an exploratory study approach that aims to deepen the study of research objectives that focus on constraint and alternative phenomena in assessing mathematics learning in elementary schools. The instrument used has been validated by experts and got the value of the coefficient Aiken = 0,742 this shows that the instrument used is valid and in the good category. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires for teachers and field observations in the online learning process. Data analysis was carried out by using descriptive techniques from the findings of the questionnaire and observation instruments. This study's results reveal that the teacher finds it difficult to provide an objective assessment of learning, and the alternative assessment of mathematics learning used is digital learning assessment and structured assignments to parent representatives in each zoning. Future research is expected to develop assessment instruments that can facilitate online learning assessments in the pandemic era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Assessment for Learning (AfL) in improving the quality of learning and mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The instrument used was a test instrument with good validity, reliability, difficulty level, and different power. The non-test instrument was valid and good. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, mean difference test, and variance difference test on AfL learning outcomes. The results showed that the effectiveness of learning in implementing AfL could be influenced by assessment preparation, student involvement, and follow-up assessment. The quantitative analysis results show that AfL can improve student learning outcomes; there is no mean-variance in AfL learning outcomes; There are differences in learning outcomes, and there are no variants in learning with AfL and conventional assessments. Suggestions, it is necessary to plan the assessment process, diagnose student needs and abilities. Moreover, there is a need for follow-up and feedback to see achievements.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh jenis kelamin terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Inggris, dan bahasa Arab pada tingkat MTs/SMP. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kauantitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Gunungkidul tahun pelajaran 2021/2022 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 118. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Analisis Varian Multivariate (MANOVA). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, dan Bahasa Arab berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Jenis kelamin tidak berpengaruh pada hasil ujian Bahasa Indonesia, sedangkan pada hasil ujian Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Arab berpengaruh secara signifikan.   Could gender affect children's language learning outcomes?   Abstract: This study aims to describe the effect of gender on learning outcomes of Indonesian, English, and Arabic at the MTs/SMP level. The study used a quantitative approach with the research subjects being graded IX students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Gunungkidul in the academic year 2021/2022 with a total sample of 118. The data were analyzed using the Multivariate Analysis of Variance Test (MANOVA). The analysis results show significant differences in learning outcomes of Indonesian, English, and Arabic based on gender. Gender has no effect on the Indonesian language test results, while the English and Arabic tests have a significant effect.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengeksplorasi tantangan dan kesiapan guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika secara daring dilihat dari dimensi-dimensi pedagogik dan melihat upaya guru dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran matematika secara daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi eksplorasi. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian yaitu orang tua/wali siswa dan guru yang melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika secara daring. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan sudah divalidasi oleh ahli dan nilai validasi yaitu 0,803 yang mengindikasikan sangat valid. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan analisis model Bogdan & Biklen. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa tantangan dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring yaitu peningkatan literasi digital, fasilitas belajar, pengembangan karakter, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Namun yang menjadi sorotan yaitu literasi digital. Hal ini menjadi faktor yang sangat penting dalam menjawab tantangan pada pembelajaran secara daring. Melihat hal tersebut, guru belum cukup siap dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran secara daring. Kemudian, upaya-upaya yang bisa dilakukan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran matematika berbasis daring yaitu pada segi pemahaman, guru perlu meningkatkan literasi teknologi, inovasi perencanaan pembelajaran dan perkembangan belajar. Sementara pada segi pelaksanaan guru perlu meningkatkan komunikasi, bimbingan, pendekatan menggunakan media teknologi dan kerjasama dengan orangtua pada proses pembelajaran.
