Abstract

ABSTRAK. Keberlanjutan usaha ternak dan pengembangan usaha ternak tidak terlepas dari dukungan berbagai sumber daya. Tinggi dan rendahnya aksesibilitas peternak terhadap sumber daya dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, diantaranya ialah SDM peternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji aksesibilitas sumber daya pada usaha ternak sapi potong rakyat berdasarkan kualitas SDM peternak. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Petung, Kecamatan Curahdami, Kabupaten Bondowoso, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Desa Petung merupakan salah satu Desa Binaan Universitas Jember dalam Program Pengabdian Desa Binaan (PPDB) untuk pengembangan komoditas sapi potong rakyat. Narasumber (responden) ialah peternak sapi potong rakyat sebanyak 120 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observasi, dan survei. Survei dilakukan menggunakan teknik wawancara dan pengisian kuisioner dengan skala likert. Analisis data menggunakan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan program SmartPLS 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas SDM peternak berpengaruh pada akses peternak terhadap sumber daya finansial sebesar 32,4%, sumber daya teknologi sebesar 35,2%, dan sumber daya fisik sebesar 28,1%. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas SDM peternak memengaruhi akses terhadap sumber daya finansial dan teknologi secara positif dan signifikan, namun tidak signifikan pada akses terhadap sumber daya fisik.Resource Accessibility in Beef Cattle Farming BusinessABSTRACT. The sustainability of livestock farming business and livestock business development cannot be separated from the support of various resources. The high and low accessibility of farmers to resources is influenced by various factors, including the farmers' human resources. This research aims to assess the accessibility of resources in the beef cattle farming business based on the quality of the farmers' human resources. The research was conducted in Petung Village, Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency, East Java Province. Petung Village is one of the Universitas Jember Assisted Villages in the Assisted Village Service Program or Program Pengabdian Desa Binaan (PPDB) for the development of community beef cattle commodities. Informants (respondents) were beef cattle farmers totaling 120 people. Collecting data using the method of Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation, and surveys. The survey was conducted using interview techniques and filling out a questionnaire with a likert scale. Data analysis used the Partial Least Square (PLS) method with the SmartPLS 2.0 program. The results showed that the quality of the farmers' human resources had an effect on farmers' access to financial resources by 32.4%, technological resources by 35.2%, and physical resources by 28.1%. The conclusion of the research shows that the quality of the farmers' human resources affects access to financial and technological resources positively and significantly, but not significantly on access to physical resources.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) peternak merupakan salah satu faktor kunci keberhasilan usaha ternak serta berperan penting terhadap perkembangan dan keberlanjutan usaha ternak. Teori menyebutkan bahwa tinggi dan rendahnya kualitas SDM dapat mempengaruhi aksesibilitas sumber daya pada suatu sistem bisnis. Tujuan penelitian ialah mengkaji pengaruh SDM peternak terhadap aksesibilitas sumber daya usaha ternak sapi potong. Lokasi penelitian ialah Desa Purnama, Kecamatan Tegalampel, Kabupaten Bondowoso. Desa Purnama sebagai salah satu Desa Binaan Universitas Jember untuk pengembangan usaha ternak sapi potong di Kabupaten Bondowoso. Variabel penelitian meliputi SDM peternak (X), sumber daya finansial (Y1), sumber daya teknologi (Y2), dan sumber daya fisik (Y3). Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observasi, dan survei dengan menggunakan wawancara dan pengisian kuisioner berskala likert. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SDM peternak berpengaruh positif terhadap aksesibilitas peternak pada sumber daya finansial, teknologi, dan fisik. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumber daya finansial, teknologi, dan fisik dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh kualitas SDM peternak masing-masing sebesar 0,359; 0,431; dan 0,372.Kata kunci: finansial, sapi potong rakyat, sumber daya, teknologi, fisikThe Effect of Human Resources on the Resources Accessibility of Beef Cattle Farming Business ABSTRACT Human Resources (HR) farmers are one of the key factors in the success of livestock farming businesses and play an important role in the development and sustainability of livestock farming businesses. The theory states that the high and low quality of HR can affect the accessibility of resources in a business system. The research objective was to examine the influence of farmer’s HR on the accessibility of beef cattle farming business resources. The research location is Purnama Village, Tegalampel District, Bondowoso Regency. Purnama Village is one of the Fostered Villages of Universitas Jember for the development of beef cattle farming business in Bondowoso Regency. The research variables are farmer HR (X), financial resources (Y1), technological resources (Y2), and physical resources (Y3). Data were collected using Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method, observation, and surveys using interviews and questionnaires on a Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results showed that the farmers' HR had a positive effect on the accessibility of farmers to financial, technological and physical resources. The conclusion of this research shows that financial, technological, and physical resources are significantly affected by the quality of the farmers' HR by 0.359; 0.431; and 0.372 respectively.Keywords: financial, beef cattle, resources, technological, physical

Abstract

Constumer satisfaction and loyalty is one indicator of marketing success. This study aimed to analyze the level of customer satisfaction and loyalty milk powder with high calcium by attributes attached to high calcium milk powder products. Milk powder used as the object of the research was Anlene milk powder and Hilo milk powder. Attributes used in the study are: brand, flavour, label, price, and promotion. Determination of the sample using multistage sampling technique. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that milk powder Anlene attributes that affect customer satisfaction is a flavor of (0,001), price (0,018), and promotion (0,023), while milk powder Hilo attributes that affect customer satisfaction is the brand (0,024) and the label (0,015). Anlene milk powder attributes that influence consumer loyalty is priced at 0,017, while the milk powder Hilo attributes that influence consumer loyalty is the brand of 0,021.

Abstract

Farmers institution is an organization that allows farmers to carry out farm agribusiness activities, from upstream (input) to downstream (processing and marketing), and connect with stakeholders. This study aims to investigate the institutional performance of dairy farmers and analyze its impact on resources. The research was conducted on May to September 2019 in Pujon sub-district, Malang district, East Java. The respondents were the 174 farmers registered as the member of Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang Joint Business Group (KUB). The data collection utilized Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation, and survey. The survey was held through interviews and questionnaires with +1 to +5 Likert scale. The variables of this study were institutional performance (X), economic resources (Y), environmental resources (Y2), and social resources (Y3). The data was analyzed using the PLS (Partial Least Square) method. The result of the study shows that institutional performance affects economic, environmental, and social resources 31.3%, 21.9%, and 45.6%, respectively. This study concluded that the institutional performance of dairy farmers positively and significantly influences the economic and social resources, but insignificantly influences environmental resources.

Abstract

Weeds is crops that can compete, disturb and reduce total of rice plants production. The purpose of this research was to determine the important value index of weeds on rice plants. Research method is used vegetative analysis with square method, vegetative and generative phase. Parameters that are observed were Density (K), Relative Density (KR), Frequency (F), Relative Frequency (FR), Important value Index (IVI). Result of the research showed that type of weed in rice plants vegetative phase were had highest score consecutively are Fimbristylis miliacea (L) Vahl.58.26; Hydrolea spinosa L. 39.57:Sphenoclea zeylanica Gaertn 39.40;. While, type of weeds in generative phase results are Leptochloa chinensis (L) Ness 60.88; Fimbristilis milaceae (L) Vahl 56.82; Cyperus iria L. 38.65. In based on the important value of weed of environmental friendly control includes pre-planting land processing, floading of several days in the vegetative phase and weeding.

Abstract

Vulnerability in dairy cattle farming business is a hazard condition (natural or artificial hazards) that can pose a risk of loss in dairy cattle farming business. This research aims to evaluate the impact of the vulnerability aspect of dairy cattle farming business on the farmer institutions and the development of dairy cattle farming business. The research was conducted at the Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang, Malang District, East Java. Respondents are all farmers who are members of the KUB Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang, which is 174 people. Data was analyzed by the SEM (Structural Equation Model) method with the SmartPLS application. The results showed that the vulnerability aspects negatively affected on the farmer institutional and the development of dairy cattle farming business, and the farmer institutional positively effected on the development of dairy cattle farming business. The conclusion of this study is that livestock business development is influenced by vulnerability aspect and institutional aspects of dairy cattle farmers. Suggestions that must be considered by farmers and institutional dairy farmers are vulnerability aspects which include fluctuations in the selling price of fresh milk, government policies, group policies, and the morality of farmers in the group.

Abstract

A research was carried out to formulate the stakeholder attitudes based on innovation, implications, and the impact of biotechnology use on dairy cattle business in Pujon District, Malang Regency and found the effect of the social environmental contribution that farmers feel on the use of biotechnology in dairy cattle business. The data was collected in the period of September to October 2018 using a survey method for 180 respondents as stakeholders. Data was processed using Fishbein's analysis approach. The results of the research indicate that stakeholder attitudes have a positive value on innovation, implications, and the impact of the use of biotechnology on dairy cattle business for upstream sectors, on farm and downstream sectors. The use of biotechnology in dairy cattle business is influenced by the government (23.50%), extension workers (37.33%), workers (12.67%), consumers (24.17%), and the social community (2.33%). The conclusion of this research is that the use of biotechnology in dairy cattle business gets a positive response from stakeholders. The process of innovation and the implications of biotechnology must involve various parties because it has an impact on social welfare.

Abstract

A research was carried out to find the opportunity factors and threats factors of dairy cattle business in Pujon District, Malang Regency. The data was collected in the period of August-October 2018 using a survey method for 105 dairy farmers. Data was processed using SEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis with the SmartPLS 2.0 application. The findings of the research show that dairy farmers livestock human resources was positively influenced by group dynamics (0.213) and vulnerability context (0.108) and was negatively influenced by farming business development (-0.215). The conclusion of this research is the opportunity factors was derived from business development and improving the quality of dairy farmers livestock human resources, while threat factors was derived from group dynamics and vulnerability context.

Abstract

Partnership system is business collaboration between mikro business with intermediate business and/or makro business that followed with founding from mikro business and/or makro business with showed principle of need each other, mutual need, and mutual benefit. The aim of this research was to (1) formulated profile business partnership system of broiler livestock farming with close house system in malang regency and (2) committed analysis of Production Cost of broiler livestock farming with partnership system. Analysis of the data was used descriptive analysis. The result showed that (a) There are three models of partnership system of broiler livestock business with close house system in malang regency namely profit sharing system, sub-contract system, and management fee system; and (b) Analysis of the costs production in all of partnership system that observed during one year or period six. The result of analysis of Production Cost with profit sharing system during one period of Rp. 16.180/kg, during two period of Rp. 15.294/kg, during three period of Rp. 14.064/kg, during four period of Rp. 8.090/kg, during five period of Rp. 14.840/kg,during six period of Rp. 15.510/kg. The result of analysis of Production Cost with sub-contract system during one period of Rp. 15.281/kg, during two period of Rp. 15.263/kg, during three period of Rp. 17.331/kg, during four period of Rp. 18.455/kg, during five period of Rp. 14.159/kg, during six period of Rp. 13.621/kg. The result of analysis of Production Cost with management fee system during one period of Rp. 14.558/kg, during two period of Rp. 17.311/kg, during three period of Rp. 17.927/kg, during four period of Rp. 15.924/kg, during five period of Rp. 15.214/kg, during six period of Rp. 16.905/kg.

Abstract

Usaha ternak tidak bias terlepas dari konsep “segi tiga emas” yaitu breeding, feeding, and management. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji asumsi klasik terhadap konsep “segi tiga emas” usaha ternak melalui pendekatan expost facto research, sehingga dapat memperbarui tinjauan literatur. Penelitian dilakukan pada usaha ternak sapi perah di Kawasan Peternakan Sapi Perah Nasional (KPSPN) Kabupaten Malang, JawaTimur. Responden adalah semua peternak sapi perah yang tergabung di dalam kelembagaan peternak KUB (Kelompok Usaha Bersama) Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang yang beranggotakan 174 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode PLS (Partial Least Square) dengan Smart PLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha ternak sapi perah dipengaruhi oleh breeding, feeding, and management sebagai pilar utama sebesar 86%, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 14% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak terdapat di dalam model. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu terdapat tiga pilar utama usaha ternak sapi perah, yaitu breeding, feeding, and management.
