Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in activity and student learning outcomes in dance subjects through the Peer Tutor Method for students of SDN 05 Kota Bengkulu. The research was conducted in February 2019. The subjects in this study were class Va. The methods used in collecting data are observation, interview and documentation. This research is a classroom action research using 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting and evaluating. The instruments used were observation sheets, research sheets, questionnaire, interview guidelines and field notes. The results showed that there was an increase in activity and student learning outcomes in class Va SDN 05 Bengkulu City. The increase in students can be seen from the increase in the quality of the learning process as shown by the increase in learning outcomes, enthusiasm and activeness of students when participating in learning. The improvement of the learning process is seen from an increase in the score and the average learning outcomes before and after the action is taken. The average value before the action was 46.18. In the first cycle the average increased to 65.78 and in the second cycle it increased to 82.65. The average increase has increased by 36.47 and fulfills the minimum passing grade (KKM) 75. From the results of this study, it is known that through the sebay tutor method, the activity and learning outcomes of SDN 05 Bengkulu City students in class Va. Keywords: Activities, Dance Learning Outcomes, Peer Tutors

Abstract

Monitoring of river aims to determine the condition of water quality. One alternative effort that can be used to have description of water quality is by reviewing the condition of the river's physical habitat. In this regard, the physical habitat condition will affect the presence of macroinvertebrates. The aims of this study was to determine the quality of river by observing the physical habitat of the river and the presence of macroinvertebrates. Data collection techniques are carried out spatially by dividing the river into several segments by taking into the state of the environment which include industry area, agriculture (rice field) area, housing area, pipe oil area and the springhead of the river. Based on the results of the study, it shown that the condition of river waters can be categorized in an unhealthy condition. This can be seen from the type of substrate cover, river bank stability and human activities in the river. It causes by eroding, agricultural activities, livestock, waste disposal, sand mining and garbage disposal. These conditions also affect the composition of macroinvertebrates found in this waters, which have a high level of tolerance in unhealthy physical habitat conditions such as Limnodrilus sp. and Aulodrilus sp

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar berorientasi environmental sustainability education berbasis literasi lingkungan dan realitas Sumatera Selatan.. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian yakni mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Unsri yang sedang  mengampu Mata Kuliah Manusia dan Ilmu Lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Research & Development (R&D) dari Borg dan gall dengan emapt tahapan yakni studi pendahuluan, perencanaan, pengembangan, validasi dan revisi. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan pada sebagian mahasiswa kelas palembang yang berjumlah 15 orang dan uji coba skala luas dilakukan pada keseluruhan mahasiswa berjumlah 75 dari keseluruhan mahasiswa di kelas palembang dan indralaya. Bahan ajar yang digunakan dikembangkan menurut NAEE dengan 6 karateristik kunci bahan ajar berorietasi Environmental Sustainability Education yang meliputi : fairness & accuracy, depth, emphasis on skill building, action orientation, instructional soundness dan usability. Teknik Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, angket dan tes. Uji keterbacaan menggunakan tes Cloze dan sebelumnya dilakukan tes validasi oleh ahli materi, dan ahli teknologi. Berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh ahli materi didapat bahwa 82, 4% , 78% oleh validasi ahli teknologi, yang artinya bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dalam kategori baik. Sedangkan brdasarkan uji keterbacaan, bahan ajar lingkungan memiliki keterbacaan yang tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa concept mapping book hubungan sistem organ yang layak digunakan untuk materi sistem organ bagi mahasiswa Biologi dan Kesehatan serta guru SD, SMP dan SMA. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian research and development (R&D) yang terdiri dari tahap pendahuluan berupa kajian kepustakaan dan pengumpulan data/informasi, desain produk, validasi desain, dan revisi desain. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pengidentifikasian dan pendeskripsian sistem organ manusia dari hasil identifikasi dan deskripsi tersebut, kemudian dijadikan sebagai materi untuk pengembangan model pemetaan concept mapping book hubungan sistem organ manusia.Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif berupa kajian pustaka (literature). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi. Produk yang telah dikembangkan kemudian dilakukan validasi dengan melibatkan validator ahli bahan ajar, ahli materi, pengguna (dosen dan mahasiswa) menggunakan lembar validasi untuk diketahui skor penilaian kelayakan dari bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Aspek penilaian concept mapping book meliputi kebahasaan, materi, dan tampilan. Skor hasil validasi dan uji keterbacaan kemudian dihitung dan ditentukan kriteria kelayakannya. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh 9 (sembilan) pemetaan concept mapping book hubungan sistem organ manusia. Untuk hasil validasi dari ahli bahan ajar adalah 93,4% (valid), dari ahli materi 98,86% (valid) dan dari mahasiswa 80,98% (valid). Bahan ajar berupa concept mapping book hubungan sistem organ dapat dijadikan bahan ajar pelengkap bagi guru dan mahasiswa.Kata kunci: Concept Mapping Book, Bahan Ajar, Sistem Organ Manusia

Abstract

The Purpose of this study is to determine the use of Course Review Horay method for increasing students interest in Vertebrate Zoology courses in Biology Education Department year 2017/2018. This study is a Classroom Action Research, the subjects consisted of 47 students. Data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis and effect size. This study was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of one meeting during 2 x 50 minutes. Result showed that the Course review horay method could increase students’ interest and the cognitive learning outcomes. Based on questionnaires on students learning interest, at cycle I, data obtained as much as 44,73%, while at cycle II showed an increase in average score by 81,58%. As for the cognitive learning outcomes showed an increase in post-test value in each cycle. The effect size between cycle I and cycle II as much as 0.39 representing small effect size. While the effect size for cycle II and III were 1, 78 which represent high effect size.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan problem-solving skill mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, FKIP Unsri pada mata kuliah Ekologi Tanah melalui penerapan pembelajaran Blended Project Based Learning (Blended-PjBL). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  terjadi  peningkatan aspek  problem-solving skill  sebanyak 25 point. Dengan demikian,  dapat ditarik simpulan bahwa penerapan Blended-PjBL mampu meningkatkan  problem-solving skill  hingga level baik dan hasil belajar hingga level sangat baik pada matakuliah ekologi tanah.

Abstract

This study examines the environmental literacy abilities of prospective Biology teacher students in the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Sriwijaya University. The research subjects are Palembang and Indralaya class students who are teaching Human and Environmental Sciences Courses for the 2019/2020 academic year in Semester II. The skills measured in this study are Environmental Knowledge, Environmental Competence and Attitudes towards the environment formulated by the OECD and NAEE. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, with research subjects totaling 75 students. The technique of collecting data is through interviews, and surveys using an instrument sheet consisting of 20 multiple choice questions, 20 essays and 20 attitude scales. The data analysis technique used the SPSS 18 program. The test instrument used was modified from the Middle Schools Environment Survey/Instrument (MSELS/I) test questions and adapted to the physical conditions and environmental problems in the city of Palembang. The results showed that the prospective Biology teacher students were in the medium category for the Environmental Knowledge and Competence aspect, and got the high category for Environmental Attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Science Literacy Circles (SLC) method on students' scientific literacy skills. Research subjects are students of Biology education, FKIP UNSRI, who take an Introduction to Environmental Science course, Environmental Pollution material. This study uses a post-test-only control design. The students who were the samples in this study were taken using a purposive random sampling technique with the Indralaya class as the control class and the Palembang class as the experimental class, each with 1 class. The data analysis technique was carried out using an instrument sheet in the form of a test sheet. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the experimental class had a higher achievement of scientific literacy skills than the control class in terms of several aspects of scientific literacy, namely aspects of competence, context, and attitudes towards science. The average percentage for the three aspects measured was obtained at an average of 69.03 for the control class and 82.88 for the experimental class.

Abstract

Plant identification is a process of determining plant species based on classification system by observing either morphological structure or anatomical structure of the plant. The aim of this study for determine the effect of using applications on the ability to identify plants for biology education college students by comparing the identification abilities of students after carrying out plant identification activities using matching plant the characteristic of object methods and application based android. The research design used the pretest – post test group design technique. Furthermore, data analysis used N-gain test to determine the improvement of collage students' abilities and independent sample t-test to determine the effect of the use of application based android on the ability to identify plants with the prerequisite test for the normality test and homogeneity of the research sample. The results showed that there were differences in the improvement of students' abilities in plant identification activities. The data showed that the increase in knowledge in the treatment class was higher due to the use of application based android by students. The independent-sample t-test analysis showed the sig value. 0.00 (<0.05). It indicates that there is a significant difference in increasing student knowledge in plant identification activities in classes, where the experimental class shows a better improvement than the control class. Thus it can be concluded that the use of application based android affects the ability of plant identification in college students

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) using environmental teaching materials based on the local reality of South Sumatra to improve students' environmental literacy skills. The method used is Quasi-Experimental Design using Noneqivalent. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNSRI. Data analysis was carried out using the MSELS (Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey) questionnaire which was adapted based on local reality teaching materials in South Sumatra. The results showed that the t-count value obtained was 7.832 (> t table = 4.341). In conclusion, the PBL learning model affects increasing students' environmental literacy skills.
