Abstract

Perubahan yang sering terjadi dan banyaknya node dapat menyebabkan terjadinya collision atau tabrakan data pada VANET yang dapat menyebabkan terjadi packet loss yang tinggi, sehingga informasi yang dikirim tidak diterima. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sebuah routing yang efisien dalam proses pengiriman data. Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) dan Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA) merupakan jenis routing dalam wireless communication. DSR dan TORA termasuk jenis routing berbasis topologi yang bersifat reaktif, dimana jalur untuk menuju node tujuan akan ditentukan ketika paket routing telah sampai dinode tersebut. Hasil simulasi dengan perubahan jumlah node menunjukkan DSR memiliki nilai rata-rata throughput 443,204 kbps, packet delivery ratio 86,25%, packet loss 13,75%, delay 2,78 ms dan collision rate sebesar 0,12. Dan untuk TORA memiliki nilai rata-rata throughput 259,04 kbps, packet delivery ratio 41,97%, packet loss 57,98%, delay 2,81 ms dan collision rate sebesar 0,61.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is a development of the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET), which makes the vehicle as its nodes. VANET technology is expected to improve the security of drivers while driving on a highway between the others, with the map location, traffic information, warning if there will be a collision, and internet access in the vehicle. However, VANET has the characteristics of a network rapidly changing due to the rapid movement of nodes that need to have a routing protocol that is considered suitable and efficient so that data transmission can be optimally lasts. This research will be simulated and analyzed the comparative performance of Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) using urban conditions (urban). The environment will be tested in speed changes and the effect of the number of nodes nodes. This simulation was done using NS-equipped with SUMO 0.12.3 2:34. as mobility MOVE as a script generator and generator Performance was measured using parameters such as Average throughput comparison, Packet Delivery Ratio, Average End-to-end delay, Normalized Routing Load, and Routing Overhead. Results of analysis in environmental VANET, routing protocols AOMDV superior routing protocol than OLSR. Because almost all parameters tested in scenarios of changes in the number of nodes and node speed AOMDV have better performance so AOMDV more efficient use on urban environmental conditions.Keywords : VANET, NS-2, OLSR, AOMDV, SUMO, MOVEAbstrak— Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) merupakan pengembangan dari Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) yang menjadikan kendaraan sebagai node nya. Teknologi VANET diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keamanan pengemudi saat berkendara di jalan raya antara lain dengan adanya map location, informasi lalu lintas, peringatan jika akan terjadi tabrakan, dan akses internet pada kendaraan. Namun, VANET memiliki karakteristik jaringan yang cepat berubah karena pergerakan node yang cepat sehingga perlu dipilih protokol routing yang dinilai cocok dan efisien sehingga pengiriman data dapat berlangsug secara maksimal. Pada penelitian ini akan disimulasikan serta dianalisis perbandingan kinerja Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) dan Ad Hoc On demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) menggunakan kondisi urban (perkotaan). Di lingkungan tersebut akan diuji perubahan kecepatan node dan pengaruh jumlah node. Simulasi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan NS-2.34 dilengkapi dengan SUMO 0.12.3. sebagai mobility generator dan MOVE sebagai script generator Performansi diukur menggunakan parameter perbandingan berupa Average throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio, Average End-to-end delay, Normalized Routing Load, dan Routing Overhead. Hasil analisis di lingkungan VANET, protokol routing AOMDV lebih unggul dibandingkan protokol routing OLSR. Karena hampir pada semua parameter yang diujikan pada skenario perubahan jumlah node maupun kecepatan node AOMDV memiliki performansi yang lebih baik sehingga AOMDV lebih efisien digunakan pada kondisi lingkungan perkotaan.Kata Kunci : VANET, NS-2, OLSR, AOMDV, SUMO,MOVE

Abstract

Sistem komunikasi Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) yang digunakan oleh instansi/lembaga saat ini tidak terintegrasi. Situasi ini menghambat komunikasi informasi antar instansi/lembaga sehingga memperlambat penanganan bencana. Artikel ini menyajikan penelitian kajian analisis penggunaan sistem Government Radio Network (GRN) untuk integrasi sistem komunikasi antar instansi/lembaga PPDR. Integrasi ini bertujuan untuk memperlancar aliran informasi antar instansi/lembaga PPDR sehingga mempercepat upaya menangani bencana. Teknologi komunikasi GRN yang digunakan ditentukan dengan melakukan kajian literatur dan studi banding di kota lain di dalam dan di luar negeri. TETRA digunakan untuk simulasi implementasi sistem GRN dalam melayani seluruh kota Bandung dengan frekuensi operasi 400 MHz dan lebar pita 800KHz.

Abstract

The emergence of the container in various cloud platforms from open stack to google cloud platform has marked the industry interest in opting for container as their cloud service solution. However, the cloud users should aware of performance overheads of different virtualization solutions in order to avoid quality of service degradation because different container platforms delivered different performances. This research evaluated how different container platforms (Docker, LXC, and LXD) impacted in running different TCP services and also measured system performance of each container compared to the native system without any container solution based on overall performance metrics. This research focuses on the three most used PaaS: FTP server, web server, and mail server. related to previous works, our evaluation results show that performance could vary between containers. In terms of system performance, LXD shows better performance while server performance result varies depending on what service is being evaluated.

Abstract

WhatsApp is a social networking app that serves as a communication medium. According to the Online Audience Measurement Standards named comScore, in 2017, WhatsApp application users in Indonesia amounted to 35.8 million people. As the most popular mobile application with the most users in the country, in this research the authors chose Whatsapp as a communication medium that will be integrated into one application of Internet of Things (IoT), that is Smart Garage. Smart Garage is a combination of information technology and computing technology that is applied to a house by relying on efficiency and device automation. The results of this research shows that it is better to use mobile data networks than using the wireless networks. The maximum delay when using mobile data is 7.5 s and 7.7 s when using wireless networks. The research using WhatsApp application still rare especially in the field of IoT.

Abstract

Saat ini, dalam dunia telekomunikasi, (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) WiMaX merupakan teknologi nirkabel yang menyediakan hubungan jalur lebar dalam jarak jauh, memiliki kecepatan akses yang tinggi dan jangkauan yang luas serta menyediakan berbagai macam jenis layanan. Masalah yang menarik dan menantang pada WiMaX adalah dalam hal menyediakan jaminan kualitas pelayanan (QoS) untuk jenis layanan yang berbeda dengan bermacam-macam kebutuhan QoS-nya. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan QoS tersebut, maka diperlukan suatu algoritma penjadwalan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi jaringan WiMaX menerapkan algoritma penjadwalan dengan metode homogeneous algorithm dan hybrid algorithm. Perwakilan pada metode homogeneous algorithm akan menggunakan algoritma penjadwalan Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ) dan Deficit Round Robin (DRR), sedangkan pada metode hybrid algorithm menggunakan penggabungan antara algoritma penjadwalan DRR dan WFQ. Pengujian kinerja algoritma penjadwalan tersebut dilakukan dengan membandingkan kedalam 5 jenis kelas QoS pada WiMAX yaitu UGS, rtPS, nrtPS, ertPS, dan Best Effort. Dari hasil pengujian, hybrid algorithm memberikan nilai QoS yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan homogeneous algorithm. hybrid algorithm sangat cocok jika diterapkan pada kondisi jaringan yang memiliki trafik dengan paket data yang bervariasi, karena dapat menghasilkan throughput yang tinggi, serta dapat menghasilkan nilai delay dan jitter yang rendah

Abstract

Virtualization technology is slowly being used to build network infrastructure called Network Function Virtualization (NFV). It takes network functions such as firewall, load balancer, IPS out of its hardware then uses its software to be run on high specification server. It helps to reduce vendor lock-in and creates a multiplatform network function environment for telecommunication or Internet Service Provider (ISP) company. It has a lot of benefits compared to a traditional network. One of them is reducing the number of hardware that is used in the telecom industry. This technology runs on the hypervisor that is used for the hardware management. One of the important components from NFV is Virtualized Network Function (VNF). In NFV, network devices are run on a server so that a firewall is needed. If an attack occurs on the network, it will interfere the existing network components. This paper focuses on analyzing the performance of two firewall systems: pfSense, and FortiGate. Both firewalls run on the VMware ESXi hypervisor. It compares the firewall performance in normal conditions without attacks and under SYN DoS attacks. Besides, firewall failover capabilities are evaluated. Based on the overall testing results, FortiGate has better performance than pfSense. It has better ability in handling DoS SYN attack because of lower throughput performance degradation and better FTP performance. It is concluded that FortiGate has best performance if it is compared to pfSense.

Abstract

The improvement of Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio access network services is affecting the increased value of traffic load in its network, which is causing traffic unbalance between cells in LTE Radio Access Network (RAN). Users will be served with ineffective resource block allocation which will make the total of gained throughput are not optimal. A method is required to move network load from overloaded cells to underloaded cells in order to balance the resource block allocation optimally. By using NS-3.26 simulation, User Throughput Based (UTB) predictive Mobility Load Balancing (MLB) method is tested with RandomWalkMobilityModel for each user. This method produces an improvement of 2,29 % in average of total throughput of 63,33 % successful optimization.

Abstract

Equal Cost Multipath Routing (ECMP) is a routing application where all available paths between two nodes are utilized by statically mapping each path to possible traffics between the source and destination hosts in a network. This configuration can lead to congestion if there are two or more traffics being transmitted into paths with overlapping links, despite the availability of less busy paths. Software Defined Networking (SDN) has the ability to increase the dynamicity of ECMP by allowing the controller to monitor available bandwidths of all links in the network in real-time. The measured bandwidth is then implemented as the basis of the calculation to determine which path traffic will take. In this research, an SDN-based ECMP application that can prevent network congestion was made by measuring the available bandwidth of each available paths beforehand, thus making different traffics transmitted on non-overlapped paths as much as possible. The proposed scheme increased the throughput by 14.21% and decreased the delay by 99% in comparison to standard ECMP when congestion occurs and has 75.2% lower load standard deviation in comparison to round-robin load balancer.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) developed based on mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). VANET have different characteristics than MANET, on VANET mobile node (MN) moves faster, topology changes dynamically. The previous research shows that the model of mobility affects to the network performance. In this paper, the Gauss-Markov mobility model used to illustrate the motion of the MN, which illustrates changes of acceleration, speed, location, and direction at any time. This paper enriches the evaluation of the performance of Gauss-Markov mobility model on LTE-VANET hybrid network, by evaluating various network performance metrics, particularly, packet delivery ratio (PDR), throughput, and delay. This research evaluated the Gauss-Markov mobility model and performed with the number of nodes and randomness index (α) that varies by utilizing NS-3 software. The results show that there is a strong correlation between PDR, throughput, and delay with the addition number of MNs. Based on the simulation result, the hybrid LTE-VANET produce better delay compared to pure VANET. The average delay is smaller 40% compared to pure VANET. This simulation also concludes that different value of alpha on Gauss-Markov mobility model does not influence PDR, throughput, and delay.
