Abstract

The aim of this research is To find out Ethan’s character development portrayed through his characteristics in the novella.In this study, the writer employed qualitative research in which the data gathered in form of words and quotations. In analysing this novel, the writer applies objective approach because this analysis will be only focused on the literary work itself without looking at the external aspects of the literary work. It means that the writer only pay attention to the internal parts of the story in the novel. The result of this research shows that Ethan character development are influenced by people around him, in this case, Zeena and Mattie. He experience a view of changes of his character; hopeful into hopeless, responsible into irresponsible, faithfulness into unfaithful, and happiness into unhappiness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal about struggle in Ralston’s Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The writers choose qualitative research to be design in this research. Because “qualitative research is descriptive, “The data collected in form of words or picture rather than numbers.” In analyzing the data, the writer used objective approach because the data are take only from the work itself and to see the interrelationship between the elements of the novel. The result shows that adventure of Ralston’s near-death experience while hiking alone in Utah’s Blue John Canyon and the lengths he took to survive Ralston setting of his adventures in the American West and His goal is to bike, climb, and hike his way over a thirty-mile terrain within one day, a boulder he is climbing becomes loose and he falls into the canyon. The boulder pins his right hand and wrist against the wall. Ralston quickly assesses his situation and understands the likelihood that he will die trapped in this canyon.The only real way he can escape is by cutting off his right arm. During his second day in the canyon, he realizes that his dead hand trapped behind the boulder will likely release toxins that will poison him if he isn’t first killed by dehydration, hypothermia, or a flash flood. He tries again to dislodge the boulder using other techniques but makes little progress.

Abstract

This research is aimed at revealing poverty in Albee’s The American Dream. This research is classified as qualitative research since the data are in the form of words, rather than numbers. Data are taken from primary source, that it the drama itself, and secondary sources which taken from other books and relevant references to support the analysis. In analysing the data, the writer applies objective approach.The result shows that poverty is dominant in this drama. The poverty is lack of food, lack of money, lack of settlement. Lack of food, poverty in The American Dream reflected the low social man described “unemployment”, he has no family and he has bad family background. He has not settlement and he came to Mommy and Daddy apartment for looking status character of Grandma, Mommy, and Young Man. Because when Mommy is young, she lived with Grandma in poor. Everyday Mommy go to school, Grandma wrap a lunch box for Mommy dinner. Lack of money, the Young Man is a man live alone because his mother has died when he was born, and he never known his father. He lived in poor situation or no rank of social life since Young Man, Grandma and Mommy lacks of the economical point which serve to be requirement for the social position. Lack of settlemement, the Young Man is a job and settlement. Grandma is old and she has no settlement, she lives with her daughter and her daughter wants to keep Granda, in nursing house. The impact of poverty for Grandma, Mommy and Young Man is Young Man want do crime just for money, Mommy marry with dady (her husband) just for monery, and Grandma daughter (Mommy) does not respect her.

Abstract

This research is mainly to find out the causes of conflict which are reflected in Brown's novel entitled Beauty and the Beast through characters named Belle and the ugly prince. In conducting his research, the writers use qualitative research because the data collected are in the form of words, not numbers. An objective approach is used in analyzing the data. The results of this study found that there are very valuable lessons and knowledge, especially those related to the love relationship between two characters who come from different backgrounds. It is also stated that Belle is finally able to fall in love with the Ugly Prince even though she knows that the prince is not like humans in general. Although there are the differences between them, however in the end the two of them can be together forever because of the power of Belle's love that can break the curse on the ugly prince.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the form of racism and its impact on the mental health of African American in Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye. The design of this study is qualitative research because the data that support this research are collected from books, journals, articles, and internet. The researchers use two kinds of data collection, namely the primary source that is the novel itself and the secondary sources are books, articles, the internet, and journals. The approach needed in research is mimetic approach, because this topic is related to the environment and as a reflection of human life. The author right to see racism in historical background of the novel. In analysing the data, researchers use three techniques called data reducing, data display, and conclusion. Researchers have read the novel and then decided the topic. From the amount of data collected from various sources researchers use text or jotting to compares, contrasts, and sorts the required data, from the notes written by the researchers, then can categorize the relevant data. The results of the analysis are racism experienced by African Americans in the form of rejection, insults and violence. Racism in the novel is not only practiced by white people but also among black people. Racism can cause victims to hate themselves, and hate others. By the story of the novel and the result of the analysis, researchers find that this impact is particularly vulnerable to children and women.

Abstract

Abstract

This investigation focuses on Agnez Mo's statements. The researchers employ the descriptive approach to conduct this study. Researchers employ the documentation approach to obtain data. Hoffman's theory, included intra-sentential code mixing, intra-lexical code mixing, and pronunciation modification, is used to examine the data. After evaluating the video, the researchers come up with a total of 87 data. The most common category is intra-sentential, which accounts for 73 % of all data, followed by intra-lexical, which accounts for 14 % of all data, and finally, change pronunciation, which accounts for just 1 % of all data. Agnez Mo employs code-mixing for four reasons, according to the researchers: talking about a specific issue, being enthusiastic about something, interjection, and displaying group identification. The majority of the evidence shows that the parts of speech are nouns.

Abstract

This study is conducted to reveal the hypocrisy and explain its causes and effects as seen in Narayan’s The Guide. The writers delimit this study on revealing hypocrisy in the novel itself. Particularly, this study delimit to hypocritical actions and words of Raju as experienced throughout the story. In carrying out this research, the data are got from the novel by Narayan entitled The Guide as primary source and also supported by other relevant references such as books, documents and web sources about hypocrisy are considered as secondary. In doing the data analysis, the researchers use objective approach and show about the hypocrisy and its causes and effects in the novel. The result shows that a hypocrite is a person who is illustrated as someone who has no principles and is inconsistent. They have in mind how they can benefit from what they are doing. Raju when talking to people always confirms what he says. He always covers his character by always being polite and even exaggerated at times. He always had a sweet mouth and sometimes pretended to support what people said. It is often easy to praise anyone. The causes of Raju’s hypocrisy is targeting material profit and obtaining self-pleasure. The impact of Raju’s hypocrisy is the decrease of moral.

Abstract

Saat ini informasi dan pengetahuan sangat berharga terutama dengan adanya persaingan, sulit bagi organisasi untuk mengelola pengetahuan di dalam organisasi. Pengetahuan setiap orang dalam organisasi atau perusahaan tentu berbeda, dalam pelaksanaan proses pengolahan Pengetahuan tidak berjalan maksimal di lingkungannya. Pemrosesan berbasis Manajemen Pengetahuan menjadi salah satu solusi untuk membantu pemrosesan pengetahuan dalam organisasi. Saat ini telah ada pengembangan Aplikasi TI berdasarkan Manajemen Pengetahuan yang diharapkan memiliki dampak positif dalam membantu dan membangun organisasi atau perusahaan. Dalam tulisan ini, akan dianalisis dan membandingkan dua Aplikasi TI berdasarkan Manajemen Pengetahuan, pertama Inmagic Presto dan kedua Zendesk. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat kelebihan dan perbandingan yang ada pada kedua aplikasi dalam menggunakan Kerangka Kerja Sistem. Abstract

This research intends to depict the influences of Lady Macbeth to Macbeth downfall, and the effect of Lady Macbeth influences to Macbeth. In doing this research, the writer uses objective approach. Objective approach is used because primary source of this research is literary work, the drama Macbeth. However, the analysis of drama Macbeth is based on the writer analysis and interpretation in accordance with the fact and evidences found in drama. By the analysing the topic, it is found out that, the downfall of Macbeth not only caused by his own weakness but also bad influences of Lady Macbeth as a wife. The analysis shows that Lady Macbeth not only supports her husband to make the prophecy became true, but Lady Macbeth has controlled the mind set of Macbeth. Lady Macbeth influences her husband to did the crime in order the prophecy about Macbeth will be a king of Scotland became true. Finally, Lady Macbeth influences her husband to murder King Duncan. In the end, Macbeth cannot happy to all that He got, He fell guilt, unhappy and uncomfortable.
