Abstract

Echinoderms are in habitats in coastal waters because  is a biota that can maintain the sustainability and  the balance of the coral reef ecosystem. Human activity  in utili zing Echinoderms, namely in Echinoidea  and Holothuroidea can affect life  his life. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of phyla  Echinoderms class Echinoidea and Holothuroidea at the Harbor  Waingapu Old Pier and its use as a medium  Biology learning. The research method used is  purposive sampling and analyzed using the approach  quantitative descriptive with the Shannon diversity index formula  Wiener. Echinoderm samples were calculated using the technique quadratic transects with a plot size of 2 x 2 meters are placed perpendicularly  in the direction of 50 meters using a plot of 30  plot. Environmental factors measured are temperature, salinity, degrees  acidity (pH) and levels of oxygen (DO). Measurements are taken  at each observation station. The results showed 11 species  Echinoderms are divided into 2 classes, namely Diadema setosum, Diadema savignyi, Tripneustes gratilla, Strongylocentrotus  droebachiensis, Echinocardium flavescens, Clypeaster subdepressus,  and Mespilia globulus from the class Echinoidea. Holothuria atra, Holothuria scraba, Euapta godeffroyi and Chiridota rigida from the class Holothuroidea. The diversity index obtained includes  medium category with a value of H = 1.696.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman tumbuhan berbunga kelas magnoliopsida di pesisir Pantai Kapihak. Pengambilan sampel pada lokasi penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode petak ganda dengan plot pengamatan berukuran 20 x 20 m untuk fase pohon, 10 x 10 m untuk fase perdu, 5 x 5 m untuk fase semak dan 2 x 2 m untuk tumbuhan herba. Faktor lingkungan yang diukur yaitu, suhu, pH dan kelembapan. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 17 ordo, 22 famili, 30 genus, 31 spesies dan 537 individu. Indeks keanekaragaman tergolong sedang dengan nilai H= 2,851.

Abstract

Bidang pendidikan merupakan salah satu bidang yang terkena dampak pandemi COVID-19. Sistem pembelajaran online pun menjadi satu-satunya pilihan di daerah terdampak COVID-19. Salah satu aplikasi media pembelajaran yang digunakan di masa pandemi ini adalah Google Meet dan Google Classroom. Namun, belum semua sekolah menengah di Sumba Timur menggunakan media pembelajaran online tersebut karena keterbatasan pemahaman teknologi para tenaga pendidik. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan pemanfaatan aplikasi media pembelajaran online seperti Google Meet dan Google Classroom akan membantu para guru untuk dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode tutorial dan praktik langsung. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Kanatang. Adapun hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah seluruh peserta pelatihan yang berjumlah 16 orang guru di SMP Negeri 2 Kanatang merasa puas dan dapat memahami materi pelatihan dengan baik yang dapat mereka aplikasikan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

The provision of variations in the use of media equipped with methods in learning is carried out in order to attract students in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic which aims to find out the influence of the use of video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type Student Worksheets (LKPD), on learning outcomes during the Covid-19 pandemic; This type of research is experimental research, using a mixed methods approach with the concurrent triangulation design method. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive influence on the use of video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type Student Worksheets on learning outcomes, shown from the results of the hypothesis test, namely 0.000 or Sig values. < 0.05; (2) there are differences in student learning outcomes between the use of power point learning media (PPT) and video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type LKPD, shown by the average posttest of the control class 56.56 and the posttest of the experimental class 82.76. It can be concluded that the use of video media equipped with crossword puzzle type LKPD has a positive influence on learning outcomes on human circulatory system material during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The education sector is one of the areas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The online learning system is also the only option in areas affected by Covid-19. One of the learning media applications used during this pandemic is Google Classroom. However, not all elementary schools, especially in East Sumba Regency, use online learning media because of the limited understanding of technology by educators. Therefore, training on the use of the Google Classroom online learning media application will help teachers to be able to carry out effective and efficient learning. The method used in this activity is the tutorial method and direct practice. This PKM activity was carried out at SD Masehi Lambanapu. The results of the implementation of this activity were that all 8 training participants at SD Masehi Lambanapu were satisfied and could understand the training materials well which they could apply in learning activities at school. Adapun hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah seluruh peserta pelatihan yang berjumlah 8 orang guru di SD Masehi Lambanapu merasa sangat puas dan dapat memahami materi pelatihan dengan baik yang dapat mereka aplikasikan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Abstract

Herbal medicinal plants are plants that can be used as medicine, either intentionally planted or growing wild. The benefits of herbal plants among the community to be mixed and served as medicine to cure diseases, perform certain biological functions with many benefits that can be obtained from herbal plants by utilizing plantation land as land to grow herbal plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of herbal plants in the Lambanapu plantation area, East Sumba Regency. This research was carried out on Monday, April 25, 2022, which is located in the front of the Lambanapu plantation at SMP N. 1 Kambera, East Sumba Regency. The method used is the path/transect method with an observation plot measuring 6.25 x 3.75 m. Environmental factors are also measured including air temperature, soil pH and humidity. The results showed that the most dominant herbal plants in the lambanapu plantation were red spinach and kates mas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of mangrove species in the Pakonjawai Protected Forest area, East Sumba Regency. The type of research in this study was an ecological descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling technique with sampling locations covering 3 observation stations using the line transect method (transect line plot). The results showed that the composition of the mangrove species found consisted of 5 families, 5 genera and 9 species with a total of 337 individuals consisting of 237 individual tree categories, 68 individual saplings and 32 individual seedlings. The mangrove species found were Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizopora stylosa, Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia ovata, Avicennia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, and Sscyphiphora hydrophyllaceae. The diversity index at the tree growth rate was 1.9518, the sampling level was 2.0496 and the seedling level was 1.9588 which means that the diversity of mangrove species is "moderately abundant". The highest Important Value Index (IVI) at tree level was Sonneratia ovata with a value of 71.98 while the sapling level was for Rhizophora mucronata with a value of 38.15 and the seedling level for Rhizophora mucronata with a value of 45.41.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of class XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Waingapu students through the mind mapping method. This type of research is classified as Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, execution, action, evaluation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were class XI MIPA 4 students of SMA Negeri 1 Waingapu for the 2021/2022 school year, totaling 37 students, consisting of 15 male students and 22 female students. The data obtained in this study is in the form of student learning outcomes taken from the application of the mind mapping learning method. The instruments used are interview sheets, tests, and documentation. The results of research and data analysis in cycle I and cycle II are known that there is an increase in learning outcomes of class XI MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Waingapu students for the 2021/2022 school year. This is shown by an increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes towards Biology lessons in the Motion System material from the results of mind mapping assignments in cycle 1, showing a percentage of student creativity of 54.14% with less creative categories and to 86.49% with very creative categories in cycle 2. Student learning outcomes also increased from a completion percentage of 46.64% in cycle I to 86.48% in cycle II.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Talking Stick Cooperative Learning Model on Biology Learning Outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Waingapu. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design with a quantitative approach. Sampling using purposive sampling. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample of this study was 37 students of class XI MIPA 1 as the control class and 37 students of XI MIPA 5 as the experimental class. The results of the descriptive analysis obtained showed that the average pre-test and post-test scores for the experimental class were 61.76 <76.89. Meanwhile, the average value  - average pre-test and post-test control class 58.81 <69.81. Testing the hypothesis using a paired sample t-test produces an Asymp value. Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 means the value is less than 0.05 (<0.05). It can be concluded that the talking stick cooperative learning model affects learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to find out how dicotyledonous medicinal plants were used in the Wailaboha Forest, Central Sumba Regency, and to use the research findings as a learning resource in the form of an encyclopedia. The descriptive quantitative technique was utilized. The subjects of this study were all dicotyledonous plants identified in the Hutan Wailaboha Kecamatan Umbu Ratu Nggay region. The samples in this study were dicotyledonous medicinal plants collected utilizing purposive sampling techniques at each research location. The double plot approach and observation plots were utilized to collect data in this investigation. This study's data analysis techniques were Relative Density, Relative Frequency, Significance Index, and Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index. At the same time, the validation team, including the head of MGMP and biology teachers in Central Sumba, assessed learning resources. The encyclopedia validation test yielded 98% for validator I, 89% for validator II, and 75% for validator III. This value suggests that the encyclopedia is usable and can help with learning.ABSTRAK:. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan tumbuhan obat dikotil di Hutan Wailaboha Kabupaten Sumba Tengah dan menjadikan hasil penelitian sebagai sumber belajar dalam bentuk Ensiklopedia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini terdiri dari semua jenis tumbuhan dikotil yang terdapat dikawasan Hutan Wailaboha Kecamatan Umbu Ratu Nggay . Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tumbuhan obat dikotil yang terdapat di setiap stasiun penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik purpose sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode petak ganda dan plot pengamatan. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Relative Density, Relative Frequency, Significance Index, dan Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index sedangkan penilaian sumber belajar dilakukan oleh tim validasi yaitu ketua MGMP dan guru-guru biologi di Sumba Tengah. Hasil uji validasi ensiklopedia oleh validator I yaitu 98%, validator II sebesar 89%, dan validator III sebesar 78,5%. Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ensiklopedia layak digunakan dan dapat menunjang proses pembelajaran.
