Abstract

Science Process Skill (SPS) on the biology learning can facilitate student to reach the science learning and push student to find their own concept of knowladge, facs along with develop attitude and values. The purpose of this research is to improve student’s at class XI IPA 2 of SMA in skin excretory system using guided inquiry. Participan in this reasearc is 36 student of class XI SMA in Karanganyar who choose sciene program. The target of this research is to increase percentage of each skill indicator on SPS about ≥10%. The result of this research shows an the  average percentage on student’s SPS increasing from 29,78% to 65,34%. But, in the classification skill need to be trained more intensively, because it has not reached the target. Based on the result above the conclusion that guided inquiry can improvement student’s SPS participan.Keywords:        guided inquiry model, science process skill, skin excretory system

Abstract

This study aims to improve and describe the increase in cooperative competence and student learning outcomes in the ecology material in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 7 in Surakarta through the application of the Talking Chips type cooperative learning model combined with Jeopardy Games. This research is a classroom action research). The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 7 in Surakarta consisting of 36 students. The technique of collecting data is done through observation observation sheets, evaluation questions, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the Talking Chips learning model combined with Jeopardy Games could improve the cooperation skills and student learning outcomes from pre-cycle to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. The average number of cooperative skills averages 41.2%; 57.41%; and 84.3%. The average achievement of combined cognitive contributions is 61.11; 74,92; and 83.92. The average achievement of affective contributions was 38.19%; 60.1%; and 88.19%. The average achievement of the combined psychomotor aspects is 33.33%; 56.6%; and 85.07%. The conclusion of this study is the application of the cooperative learning model of Talking Chips type combined with Jeopardy Games to improve cooperation skills and student learning outcomes in the ecology material of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 7 in Surakarta

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve the skill of student’s science process skill of class XI MIA 9 (ICT)  SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2014/2015 through the use of inquiry learning model. The research is considered as Classroom Action Research that performed within 3 cycles and consists of 4 phase namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of research was students of XI MIA 9 (ICT) SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2014/2015. Data were obtained by observation, test, interview, and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. Data validation used triangulation methods. The  result showed that the application of inquiry learning model could improve the student’s science process skill of XI MIA 9 (ICT) SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2014/2015. The data showed that the mean value of all aspects had been improved from 31.41% in pracycle up to 49.14% in first cycle, than improve up to 62.05% in second cycle, and ended up by 76.45% at the final cycle. The conclusion of this research is that implementation of inquiry learning model was increasing the students science process skill in XI MIA 9 (ICT) in  SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2014/2015.Keywords: inquiry learning model, science process skill.
