Abstract

The most widely used surfactant is an anionic surfactant which is synthesized from petroleum namely Linear Alkylbenzene sulphonate (LABS). Methyl Ester Sulfonate which is currently being developed. Surfactant can produced from palm oil methyl ester via sulfonation sulfonate. When in this research using sodium metabisulphite. The aims of this work is to synthesize Methyl Ester Sulfonate surfactant from Palm Oil Methyl Ester using Sodium Metabisulphite and a catalyst Calcium Oxide. The effects of time and the mole ratio are also investigated. Sulfonation process carried out in 4, 5, 6 hours with mole ratio of 1: 0,5, 1:1, 1: 1,5, temperature of 80° C and with stirring speed of 450 rpm. It haven been found that the surfactant produced has density of (0.89490 g/cm3 - 0.89545 g/cm3), viscosity (2.0323 cP - 2.1329 cP), pH (2,03 - 2,48), surface tension (32.60 mN/m - 33.60 mN/m), interfacial tension (30.45 mN/m - 30.94 mN/m), and the stability emulsion (59.17% - 89, 17%).

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairei) memiliki potensi sebagai bahan baku kosmetika, karena memiliki kandungan antioksidan yang cukup tinggi yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pelembab kulit dan mencegah kulit kering. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui stabilitas fisik ekstrak kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairei) yang diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pelembab pada tangan maupun seluruh badan. Metode: Krim dibuat dalam 3 seri konsentrasi yaitu 4%, 6% dan 8% serta basis krim sebagai kontrol negatif. Pengujian stabilitas krim meliputi, organoleptis, homogenitas, tipe krim, uji pH, daya sebar, viskositas, uji iritasi kulit, uji kesukaan serta uji stabilitas sediaan meliputi uji cycling test, uji mekanik, dan uji stabilitas selama penyimpanan pada suhu rendah (4 ± 2°C) dan suhu kamar (30°C).  Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairei) dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk krim serta memiliki kestabilan yang cukup baik selama proses penyimpanan. Kesimpulan: Ekstrak kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairei) memiliki kestabilan yang baik sebagai sediaan krim yang dapat digunakan sebagai pelembab kulit tangan dan seluruh tubuh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pati beras hitam (Oryza sativa L. indica) dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker gel peel off dan menguji aktivitas antioksidannya. Formula dibuat dalam beberapa konsentrasi yaitu F1 (5% pati beras hitam), F2 (10% pati beras hitam), F3 (15% pati beras hitam), dan F4 (15% pati beras hitam tanpa pengawet). Evaluasi terhadap sediaan masker gel peel off meliputi pemeriksaan sifat fisik sediaan (organoleptis, homogenitas, cycling test, daya sebar, waktu kering, uji iritasi, dan pengukuran pH ) serta dilakukannya uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masker gel peel off berwarna ungu dan berbau khas dengan pH (4,5-4,7), waktu sediaan mengering 16-21 menit, daya sebar 5,3-5,8 cm, cycling test yang homogen dan tidak mengiritasi kulit sukarelawan. Pengujian antioksidan pati beras hitam menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan dari sediaan tergolong kelompok intensitas sangat lemah. Sebagai kesimpulan, pati beras hitam dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker gel peel off berdasarkan evaluasi sifat fisik tetapi aktivitas antioksidan terhadap radikal bebas DPPH tergolong sangat lemah dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 650,257 µg/mL Kata Kunci : Pati beras hitam, Masker gel peel off, Antioksidan.

Abstract

The study of physical and chemical stability of solid dispersion ketoprofen-PVP K-30 has been studied. The solid dispersions system were prepared by solvent method with several variation amount. Ketoprofen-PVP K-30 was evaluated by its physicochemical properties using the Differential Thermal Gravimetric (DTG), FT-IR spectroscopy and dissolution profiles. This study used an accelerated stability test at temperature (40±2)˚C for 3 months. The test include organoleptic test and ketoprofen content. Ketoprofen content were measured by UV spectrophotometer at 255.5 nm, respectively, after were stored for 1, 2 and 3 months at a temperature (40±2)˚C. The analysis of DTG showed endothermic peak friction ketoprofen is significant. FT-IR spectra indicated no chemical interaction between ketoprofen-PVP K-30 in the solid dispersion. The result showed that solid dispersion of ketoprofen with PVP K-30 gave a good physicochemical characterization of ketoprofen and could improve the dissolution rate of ketoprofen. Formula 3 of solid dispersion shown  the highest dissolution rate at 30 minute (82.657%) ( not less than 80%). The chemical and physical stability of solid dispersion of ketoprofen-PVP K-30, indicating change in the physics and chemistry of solid dispersions. The organoleptic test also showed discoloration of the three formulas and third assay formula showed that increasing the concentration of PVP-K-30 in the solid dispersion will lead to decreased content of ketoprofen. In addition, the most stable formula is a formula 1 with a ratio of 1:1 which resulted usage of 29 months.

Abstract

Effects of polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30 on dissolution characteristics of solid dispersion systems have been studied. Solid dispersions were prepared by solvent method using several ratios of ketoprofen-polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30 as follows 1:9, 3:7, 5:5, 7:3, 9:1. Physical mixtures of ketoprofen-polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30 were used as a comparison. The solid dispersion systems and physical mixtures were evaluated for physicochemical properties and dissolution characteristics. Dissolution tests were measure with modified basket method using pH 7.2 phosphate buffer as dissolution medium. Samples were taken up after 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Results generally showed that solid dispersion system of ketoprofenpolyvinylpyrrolidone K-30 have a different physicochemical properties compared to physical mixtures and pure ketoprofen and exhibited better dissolution rate and dissolution efficiency of ketoprofen. Dissolution efficiency and dissolution rate constant of the solid dispersion system were 59.41%, and 1.66 mg/s, respectively.

Abstract

The research of the making of Virgin Coconut Oil emulsion with the Acasia and its activity test as a SGOT dan SGPT against white female mouse had been done. The liver damage was inducted using paracetamol doses 0.026 g/20g BB. The emulsion was made with dry gom method and evaluated in stability and VCO emulsion viscocity using a Viscometer Stomer. The parameter observed was the decreasing of SGOT and SGPT activities during giving 1, 3, 7 medicine. The result indicated that the emulsion VCO was stable using Acasia as emulsifying agent to 50°C during 6 hours and can be used as the decreasing SGOT and SGPT activities at observating on day 2, 4 and 8.

Abstract

Has been researched about  microencapsulation of paracetamol with solvent evaporation method using polymer sodium carboxymetil cellulose (NaCMC). Determination of paracetamol level carried out by UV Spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 243,5 nm, the dissolution test using solution phosphate buffer with pH 5,8 and the method used is Metoda Dayung. From the research result, obtained dissolution rate microcapsules of paracetamol on formula 1 is higher than formula 2 and 3. This is because in formula 2 and formula 3 show the addition of coating as a microcapsule wall – forming wich will reduce the speed of drug release. Model kinetics of active ingredient release from microcapsules of paracetamol following the zero order and first order.

Abstract

Study of solid dispersions of ibuprofen-manitol by solvent method had been researched. Solid dispersions made in 4 ratio formula, F1; F2; F3 and F4 with ibuprofen-manitol ratio  3: 1, 2: 2, 1: 3, and 0.5: 3.5. Evaluation of solid dispersions of Ibuprofen - Manitol include x-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), assay and dissolution test. Results of X-ray diffraction solid dispersion system showed a decrease in intensity of the degree of crystalline ibuprofen. SEM characterization results indicated ibuprofen morphological changes towards more amorphous.

Abstract

A research on the study of physical and chemical stability of ketoprofen-urea solid dispersions. Solid dispersions prepared through dissolution method with ketoprofen-urea ratio is 1:1, 1:3, 1:5. Powder solid dispersion system was evaluated physicochemical properties include analysis Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), FT-IR spectroscopy, and dissolution profiles. Accelerated stability test for 3 months at a temperature (40±2)°C. The parameters tested include organoleptic test and ketoprofen levels. Ketoprofen levels were measured by UV spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 255.5 nm after being stored for 1, 2, and 3 months at a temperature (40±2)°C. DTA analysis results showed endothermic peak shift ketoprofen meaningful. FT-IR spectra showed no chemical interaction between ketoprofen-urea solid dispersion powder. The results showed that solid dispersions of ketoprofen-urea can improve the physicochemical properties and can enhance the dissolution profile of solid dispersion compared to pure ketoprofen with the highest dissolution results indicated by solid dispersion formula 3 (1:5) is 105.674%. Test chemical and physical stability of solid dispersions of ketoprofen-urea showed a change in the physics and chemistry of solid dispersions. Organoleptic test the change in color the three formulas. While the test  by the chemical assay, the three formulas while showed that increasing the concentration of urea in the solid dispersion of a decrease in the levels of ketoprofen. The most stable formula is the formula 1 (1:1) to 24.748 months of age.

Abstract

Isolation of crude bromelain from pineapple stem has been done using phosphate buffer pH 7.0 as solvent,nthen it was centrifuged at 3,500 rpm for 15 minutes. It’s physicochemical properties then evaluated by it’s organoleptic, solubility, lost of drying, ash content, pH value, microscopic photo, particle size distribution, water absorbtion, protein qualitative and quantitative test. It’s total protein analysis done by using Mikro Kjeldahl method than gave result 8.0384% proteins.
