Abstract

Bandar Aceh Darussalam as tamaddun city in the tip of Sumatera Island and capital city of 17th century Islamic Aceh Sultanate, was a strategic coastal city. It had sloping beach and bays and was surrounded by mountains with rivers flowing through the city. Its wetlands-based urban development was reflected in the design of urban space structure and key elements of the city. It becomes inspiration for developing modern ecological city since 17th century Islamic cities in archipelago of the East is rarely studied. This research aimed to study the spatial concept of Bandar Aceh Darussalam. Data was collected by using the method of tracking physical information through ancient maps and field observation of the environment characteristic. It was found that the ecological character of the city seemed to be affected by the existence of integrated natural features, function and the role of the city that included Islamic concepts. The main elements of the city reflected the character of civilization in three aspects: the drainage system i.e. cut and fill, the scattered and wide empty space, and natural defense system. The concept of harmony between urban development and city’s ecological character was shown in the design of urban landscape.

Abstract

Semarang is the capital city of Central Java Province, as a metropolitan city, Semarang has the capablity to support the rapid development of the city , one of the evident is the highly of activity on physical infrastucture, one of them is the construction of residential areas along the high rate of population growth. Settlement area development activities emerge the negatively impact to reduce the existence of open space area. This study uses a quantitative method through positivistic approach. Research data presented by the form of figures and the analysis using the statistics. This study was first carried out in 2006 and 2011 to analyze the spatial through digitized the image map of Semarang, and the results of the digitization of spatial land area of open space and a residential area, which is used to formulate some stage subsequent analysis: 1) Identification and analysis of the influence of the development of residential areas against the open space in the city, 2) Analysis of the acceleration of the projected change of land per year in Semarang in 2006-2020, 3) Analysis of the application of open space 30% (sample in District Tembalang). The result of this analysis showed the relationship between the relevant mutual influence. The rate of population growth and development of residential areas with a relationship of mutual influence supply and demand. Then, as the development of residential areas causes the reduction of open space. In additon, the background of this problem is how to formulate the recommendations to control the land use plan , in order to create an ideal city land use in the future.

Abstract

Brebes district is one of areas that got impact of development “Trans Jawa” highway route. Network route is often become  a trigger of changing the land use arrangement. However, base on common knowledge, the highway network route will bring up new region and kill the old region. The development of the new region has started in the knot area of the exit highway, the region is dominated with restaurants and Brebes Distric’s souvenir shops. The main purpose of this research is understanding the influence of exit highway on the land use in Brebes District. The research’s data has been analized by one of qualitative method, analysis descriptive qualitative technique. The conclusion of the reseach is the three knot areas of exit highway have their own characteristic. The Pejagan and East Brebes have their impact on land use around the knot corridor. However,  the West Brebes’s impact is the changing of utilization around the corridor and it didn’t impact the land use around it. The changing has its own impact to the space structure in Brebes District as there is new region’s development in the knot of exit highway. On the opposite, this new development has its own negative impact on the old corridor that has developed before, especially to the north route. The business around north corridor experienced the degression of the sales as the outcome of the road user’s new route (Trans Jawa highway route), just like Bulakamba and Diponegoro Corridors.

Abstract

Keberlanjutan merupakan issue sentral dalam konteks pembangunan abad 21. Pembangunan perumahan berkelanjutan adalah kegiatan membangun lingkungan perumahan yang mendasarkan pada prinsip-prinsip berkelanjutan. Ada kesenjangan cara pandang dalam pembangunan perumahan dan pembangunan perkotaan, khususnya tidak adanya konsep keberlanjutan yang dirujuk secara bersama dalam program kegiatan pembangunan. Tulisan ini menyusun indikator perumahan berkelanjutan yang dapat digunakan sebagai arahan pengembangan perkotaan yang didorong oleh pembangunan perumahan yang berkelanjutan. Hasil pengembangan perkotaan menjadi efektif bila pembangunan perumahan menunjukan konteks berkelanjutan. Sehingga penurunan kualitas lingkungan perkotaan khususnya sub-perkotaan dapat terjaga dan bahkan keseimbangan lingkungannya membaik. Hal ini akan mendorong tercapainya pembangunan kota berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Studi ini akan menggambarkan dampak urban sprawl yaitu perkembangan tak terkendalisecara horizontal kearah pinggiran kota terhadap ketidak efisiennya mobilitas yang akanmempengaruhi pemilihan moda transportasi. Urban sprawl berdampak pada tidak effisiennyapengaturan sistem transportasi perkotaan, karena selain tidak tertatanya permukimanakibat kurang kontrolnya pemanfaatan ruang juga terjadinya pengelompokan atauperbedaan strata sosio-ekonomi yang akan berdampak semakin kompleknya permasalahanmobilitas (pergerakan) penduduk. Kondisi demikian akan berpengaruh terhadappemilihan moda transportasi yang berpihak pada pemilihan moda pribadi.Mobilitas merupakan suatu permasalahan transportasi perkotaan yang sangat pelik danperlu penanganan yang serius. Tujuan dari studi ini untuk mengidentifikasi faktorpertumbuhanyang tidak terkendali kearah pinggiran kota dan faktor-faktor yang yangmempengaruhi permasalahan transportasi yaitu pemilihan moda transportasi. Studi inimenggunakan pendekatan spasial (ruang) yaitu suatu pendekatan yang mempelajari hubunganinteraksi antara manusia dan lingkungannya. Untuk itu metode penelitian denganmetode deskriftif kualitatif-kuantitatif yaitu suatu metode dengan teknik wawan-cararumah tangga secara random proposional pada rumah tangga yang berbeda status sosialekonominya pada wilayah yang terkena proses urban. Adapun teknik analisisnya denganmenggunakan Crosstabulation untuk menggambarkan faktor-faktor yang mem-pengaruhiperkembangan kota dan pemilihan moda transportasi. Hasil dari studi ini bertujuanuntuk merekomendasikan penanganan problem transportasi perkotaan padaperkembangan kota-kota menuju kota Metropolitan.AbstractThis study will describe influence of growth of urban uncontrollably toward outside orwhich is often referred as by urban sprawl to moda choce. Growth of town into metropolitanarea need careful because besides affecting social segregasi also cause noteffisient mobility of suburban, because journey become long distance is resident activitystill concentration at downtown (core city) and also the happening of integration of eachtown also will complicate arrangement of urban transportation system. Approach method with approach of spasial pursuant tounderstanding of human being interaction with urban environment that is by studyingdynamics friction of resident in taking choice suburban residence and its mobility choicethat is choice of moda transportation. Method acquirement of data by using techniquemethod interview household by random proposional pursuant to strata of sosio-economiat region of suburban. Technique analyse by using analysis of crosstabulation statisticwith test of significan to describe factors influencing growth of urban and its influence tomoda choice. Result of from this research describe that growth of town toward townboundary of Semarang unegual and its surroundings its speed at some district exist instudy region. As for factors influencing growth of town besides aksessibilitas there issocial factor in the form of change of life style toward requirement of settlement withbalmy environment and requirement of transportation. Result of from this study is]expected useful for the day-dream of problems of urban transportation by integratingbetween operation of policy of settlement of settlement environment and policy ofoperation of transportation system at natural towns of metropolitan area.

Abstract

Perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota pada Koridor Jalan Kaliurang dapat memberikan tekanan pada kemampuan ruang sehubungan untuk menampung kegiatan bermukim, yang ditengarai oleh tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman perkampungan yang tidak teratur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni, untuk mengkaji hubungan berpengaruh perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota, dengan tipologi perkembangan kelompok-kelompok permukiman, yang akan dicapai melalui sasaran penelitian meliputi: mengkaji tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman dan mengkaji faktor berpengaruh aspek perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota, serta menganalisa hubungan tergantung tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman dengan faktor perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota pada koridor Jalan Kaliurang kabupaten Sleman. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survei untuk mengetahui sikap masyarakat pada perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota, yang memperlihatkan tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman yang teratur dan tidak teratur. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa pada perkembangan permukiman pinggiran kota terjadi penurunan dayadukung ruang lingkungan perumahan sebesar 25,89%, yang diperlihatkan oleh tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman yang tidak teratur. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tipologi pekembangan kelompok permukiman yang teratur adalah: a) faktor pertumbuhan penduduk, b) faktor hak-hak pemilikan lahan. Sedangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi tipologi perkembangan kelompok permukiman yang tidak teratur, yaitu: c) faktor persaingan memperoleh lahan.Kata kunci: perkembangan, pinggiran, kota, tipologi, kelompok, permukiman

Abstract

Abstract: The old town of Semarang is one of the most historical places in Semarang city, Indonesia, and in the 19th century, it was considered as a major business center. Currently, intending to revitalize this old town as the center for economy, the government has made it a central socio-cultural economic area for tourism development. This study aims to identify the potential economic spots in this old town to support its sustainability. The methodology used was cultural mapping with the geographic information system (ArcGIS) and direct observation in the old town. The results show that the core economic area is located on the main road. Meanwhile, the secondary economic area is situated behind the main roads. Both are selected because the original characteristic buildings which attract visitors. Therefore, adaptive reuse in an iconic building is one of the keys to economic sustainability in this old town.

Abstract

Kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Klaten merupakan salah satu ruang terbuka publik di Kabupaten Klaten yang memiliki fungsi sebagai ruang rekreasi. Kawasan tersebut terletak di Kecamatan Klaten Tengah, yang berdasarkan RTRW Kabupaten Klaten Tahun 2011-2031 kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Klaten direncanakan menjadi Kawasan Perkotaan Kabupaten Klaten. Sebagai Kawasan Perkotaan Kabupaten Klaten, Kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Klaten diharapkan mampu menyediakan ruang untuk kegiatan pemerintahan, pelayanan sosial-ekonomi, komersial, industri, pendidikan, dan hunian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan rencana desain dari kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Klaten yang dapat menyediakan ruang untuk mengakomodasi aktivitas-aktivitas tersebut. Untuk menciptakan rencana desain tersebut dilakukan studi best practice, yang menghasilkan konsep sustainable green design. Konsep tersebut menghasilkan rencana desain pada kawasan meliputi penataan lingkungan dan aktivitas sosial-ekonomi. Rencana desain tersebut dilakukan melalui proses analisis  yang menghasilkan rencana zonasi kawasan untuk menciptakan efisiensi penggunaan lahan. Kemudian analisis  elemen rancang kota yang akan menghasilkan rencana desain atau master plan kawasan yang dapat memberikan arahan perencanaan kota.
