Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze whether the stock prices decrease at ex-dividend date in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that is determined by amount of dividend drop-off ratio (DDR). This study also attempts to investigate the differences the stock prices decrease at ex-dividend date based on Investment Opportunity Set (IOS). Sample consist of  the companiesthat announced the dividend during 2010-2012 periods. By using non-parametric tests, especially Chi-square Test and Mann Whitney Test,  the result of this study showed the stock prices decreased less than dividend amount on ex-dividend date. Besides, the non-growth firms experienced decrease more than growth firms.

Abstract

The main purpose of the implementation of Lean Six Sigma in this study is to improve the graduates’ quality of PPs. MMP UKSW. Although PPs. MMP UKSW has an A accreditation, there are some graduates that graduated through a long study period that exceed the ideal standart. The method that used is DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement, Control) with the quality indicator based on accreditation assessment of master degree. The data is collected by FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and analyzed by fishbone diagram and 5Whys. The result showed that beside the length of study period, the main problem of graduates’ quality of PPs. MMP UKSW is the lack of alumnis’ participation. The root problem of study period is focused on how the student are wasting the time to wait writing the proposal or thesis, while the root problems for alumnis’ participation is because of their busy job. Based on those findings, there are 7 strategies for institution to improve the quality of graduates.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the root of the problem of low quality and image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran and also to define the strategie to improve the quality and to build the image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran. This qualitative descriptive study used fishbone analysis and data collection used Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interviews, and study of document. The results showed that the root problem of low quality of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran were learnershad low ability, teachers provided less motivation of learning, the willingness of teachers to improve teaching skills were low, teachers were elderly, teachers did not plan learning activities by themselves, school principle had never participated in managerial training, non standard size of classrooms and the library had not been adequate. The root of the problem why the image of SDN Ungaran 02 and 04 were not good enough namely: the lack of academic supervition and extracurricular competent. Strategies to improve the quality and to build image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran were : a)implementing ongoing supervision by principle to raise teachers motivation, b)proposing for aid to the authorities both for the rehabilitation of classrooms and procurement of books, c) involving school committee in order to improve the school environment, and d) forming school developer team in academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the degree of servant leadership in Salatiga private high schools. This study used descriptive method in which the object of the research are three private schools in Salatiga. Data collection techniques used by spreading questionnaires to the three principals, teachers and employees at those shools and also with interview. Researched indicators arranged based on six characteristics of servant leadership: values people, develop people, build community, display authenticity, provide leadership, dan share leadership. The results of this study showed that the overall degree of servant leadership implementation in the  high category. However, there are some indicators that lead to the medium category. School principals are advised to be willing to improve some of these characteristics by first tried to listen to others. The results of this study can be used as a reference on servant leadership in secondary education.

Abstract

This study aims: (1) to find out the significance of differences in the implementation of the Education Management Standards in Semarang Regency Accredited Senior High School, and (2) to know the implementation of components in the Education Management Standards at Senior High School (SHS) accredited A and B in Semarang Regency which is still in the Very Low category.  The type of this research is descriptive comparative with quantitative approach. The sample in this study consists of 6 Accredited A and 3 Accredited B SHSs. Data or information obtained from the Principals, Vice Principals and Teachers. There are 30 respondents from 6 Accredited A and 15 people from 3 Accredited B Senior High Schools. This study used a Monitoring and Evaluation of Education Management Standards questionnaire developed by BSNP 2012. The results showed that the average in Accredited A are higher from Accredited B SHSs. While from the comparative test results obtained: there is no significant difference in the implementation of education management standards between Accredited A and Accredited B Senior High Schools in Semarang Regency. The result of the categorization statistics is the result that there is no component whose implementation in the Very Low category in both Accredited A and Accredited B Senior High School. However, there are components whose implementation is still in the Moderate category of the Component Management Information System.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the root cause of ineffectiveness at classroom management which is applied by teachers as well as to propose solution to overcome ineffectiveness at elementary school’s classroom management. The data collection technique used in this research is focused group discussions and observations in the classrooms. The analysis technique used is Fishbone analysis or Ishikawa diagram. The results of this study shows that there are six roots of ineffectiveness problem at classroom management, namely: 1) teachers did not focus on students individually but to the curriculum only; 2) the existence of dissability students have different learning pace compared to others; 3) there was no demanding from principal about fun learning implementation in classroom; 4) teachers luck of knowledge about classroom management; 5) teachers lack to provide interpersonal relationship with students; 6) teachers had low trust about students ability to disciplined and organized themselves. The proposed solutions formulated together are such as teachers review the lesson plans and the daily teaching journal, teachers implement the system of reward and punishment as well as peer-teaching method to students, and principals require fun learning and supervise teachers in the classrooms.
