Abstract

This study aims to determine the clinical significance of Multidrug-Resistant Organism (MDRO) screening and analysis of infection risk factors in the intensive care unit (ICU). The method used is a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the majority of MDRO patients in the ICU were aged 36-45 years in the late adult age category by 45% and were found in the Central ICU by 63% with a length of stay of 1-15 days by 62 found by taking sputum specimens (47% ). Identification of the most Gram-negative bacteria in the ICU: Klebsiella pneumoniae ESBL, Escherichia Coli ESBL, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter Baummannii. Five bacteria are in the Multidrug Resistant Organism (MDRO) category: Klebsiella pneumoniae ESBL, Escherichia Coli ESBL, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter Baummannii, and MRSA. In conclusion, a high MDRO infection will be at risk of transmission to other patients. So early detection is needed in all patients who will undergo treatment at the hospital. Abstract

This study aims to examine and review what types of massage therapy can reduce fatigue, anxiety, and sleep disturbances experienced by CRF patients undergoing HD. The method used is a systematic review using five databases, namely Scopus, ScienceDirect, Pubmed, CINAHL, and ProQuest, with publication limits from 2016 to 2021, in English, full-text articles. The keywords used are “massage therapy” AND “fatigue” AND “Anxiety” AND “sleep disorder” OR “sleep quality” AND “Chronic Kidney Disease” AND “hemodialysis.”” The results showed that of the ten articles reviewed, there were types of massage therapy, namely back massage, foot massage, hand massage, and combinations with aromatherapy oils which were known to be more effective in reducing fatigue scores and anxiety and improving sleep quality. This review concludes that massage therapy is an effective, efficient therapy with no side effects for HD patients. However, to do this therapy, it is recommended to take a massage course or training first. Keywords: Sleep Disorders, CRF, Hemodialysis, Anxiety, Fatigue, Massage Therapy

Abstract

This study aims to determine the important role of critical care nurses in preventing nosocomial infections caused by Multidrug-Resistant Organisms (MDROs). This review conducted a systematic search of electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science (WoS), and ScienceDirect, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. As a result of the study, Chlorhexidine baths, oral care, and environmental cleaning were identified as the most effective strategies for preventing MDROs in critical care settings and the impact of these strategies varied across studies. Caps containing alcohol to prevent bloodstream infections have also been shown to be effective. In conclusion, this review highlights the importance of implementing effective prevention strategies to reduce the incidence of MDROs in critical care settings. Critical care nurses must know the most effective strategies for preventing infections and implement them consistently. The findings of this review have important implications for clinical practice and policy development.
