Abstract

Several reservoirs have been built at several points in the area to control the floods that have been hitting Balikpapan City. However, it turns out that this alternative is still not able to reduce the occurrence of standing water in several locations, including in the Wonorejo area, so it still needs to be evaluated regarding its function as a control building or merely being a water storage pool that does not have a water release control system. In solving this problem, an analysis of the reservoir's characteristics is carried out, which is the relationship between elevation, area, and reservoir capacity, which is obtained using the 3rd order polynomial regression equation. Then, the cumulative volume of inflow volume projection in the reservoir is carried out using a linear program equation to the reservoir capacity. In knowing the output channel capacity (outflow) performance, a comparison is made to the input discharge (inflow) in the reservoir as an evaluation to find out that the outflow channel will not overflow into the surrounding area. Based on the characteristic curve, it is found that the storage capacity in the Wonorejo reservoir is 0.795 MCM or 794,900.45 m3 with the total volume entering the reservoir of 1,795,034 m3, which indicates that the current performance of the reservoir has been less effective. Whereas in the reservoir outflow capacity, it was found 57.90 m3/s, when compared to the amount of input discharge (inflow) of 33.00 m3/s, it can be said that the dimensions of the outflow channel still have sufficient capacity to accommodate flood discharge from within reservoir

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kagan-Rodda, Poligon Thiessen, Stasiun hujan ABSTRACT Balikpapan is one area that has these problems and currently has several networks of rainfall measurement stations, but collecting rain data more often uses only one rainfall station originating from BMKG online which is located at the Sepinggan location, South Balikpapan District. Errors in the observation of rain data that occur in an area can lead to inaccurate data, resulting in inefficient and effective design, research and development of water resources. The purpose of this study is to determine the pattern of placement of rainfall stations, the density between the existing network of rainfall stations, and the determination of the number of effective and efficient rainfall stations. The Thiseen Polygon method with the help of the ArcGis 2.0 program is used to map the study area and the placement pattern of the existing rainfall station. In the analysis to obtain the optimum station network density, the Kagan-Rodda method is used with the number of rainfall stations required following the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standard. The pattern of placement of rainfall stations in Balikpapan City currently amounts to 5 stations with Karen Joang station having the largest area of influence, which is 227.71 km2, but the condition of the density of the placement of the rain station network currently does not meet the minimum WMO standards, so it needs to be done. Repositioning based on the Kagan-Rodda method (modification) with the distance between rain stations is 9.55 km.Keywords: Kagan-Rodda, Rain station, Thiessen Polygon

Abstract

A runway infrastructure is the main access of aircraft in making movements, the quality of the runway is expected to provide comfort and safety. Generally, the type of asphalt used in runway pavement is PEN and PG asphalt, PEN asphalt is used in the center line located at the middle of the runway and PG in the treshold which is at the starting point of the aircraft tire at take off or during the exhalation of the aircraft, the main consideration in determining the quality of the asphalt mixture. The marshall test method itself with the addition of asphalt levels by wet, where from the Marshall test obtained results in the form of Marshall components, namely stability, Cavity in the mixture(Void In The Compacted Mixture / VIM),Air cavity filled with asphalt(Voids Filled with Bitumen / VFB),Cavities between aggregates (Void in the Mineral Aggregat / VMA),and Marshall Results / Marshall Quotient ( MQ ), Based on the results of the study of 3 variants of asphalt levels of 5%, 6%, 7% using PEN and PG asphalt produced optimum asphalt levels of 7% with a stability value of 3030 kN / mm, Value(flow)of 4.0 mm, For cavity values in concrete asphalt VIM value of 2.71%, VMA value of 16.87%, and value of VFB of 83.97% for variations of PEN asphalt and for PG asphalt variants resulting in optimum asphalt content of 6% with stability value of 3640 kN/mm, Value(flow)of 3.2 mm, For cavity values in concrete asphalt VIM value of 3.32%, VMA value of 15.8%, and value from VFB of 78.39%. In asphalt concrete mixtures with 3 variations in asphalt levels, flow values tend to increase, while stability, QM, density, and air cavity tend to decrease compared to normal asphalt concrete Overall in the addition of mixtures, to lower the pavement and flexibility to be low. Large asphalt rate 7% for Pen with a value of 3234 kN / mm, and for 6%. for Pg with a value of 3640 kN / mm.

Abstract

Jalan Sungai Ampal in front of the fresh market of Balikpapan Baru often inundation occurs when it rains. This is due to several factors, one of which is rainwater passing through the drainage channel that exceeds the storage capacity so that the water overflows which causes puddles in the surrounding area. In order for the handling to be carried out effectively, a thorough analysis of the drainage system is needed which will then be used as the basis for determining the handling of inundation. Data analysis in this research uses SWMM 5.1 application. Starting from knowing the cause of inundation to planning the ideal drainage channel capacity. This analysis is also assisted by the google earth application to see thearea subcatchmen, slope and soil elevation at the research site. Simulation of the ideal planned drainage channel capacity is carried out using the trial error method on the SWMM 5.1 application. From this method, the ideal design channel capacity is 1 m. On channel 1 can accommodate 0.574 m3/ sec with a maximum flow of 1.58 m / s and the channel capacity by 60%. On channel 2 can accommodate 0.792 m3/ sec with a maximum flow of 1.15 m / s and the channel capacity by 82%. On channel 3 can accommodate 1.418 m3/ sec with a maximum flow of 2.27 m / s and the channel capacity by 74%. No problem channels were found after re-simulation using the design channel dimensions, so the design diameter of 1 m is considered safe.

Abstract

Balikpapan City is a city that often experiences floods. One of the most frequently flooded locations is Gang Mufakat, which is located in Damai Village, South Balikpapan. This area is an area passed by the Ampal River Basin which is one of the causes of flooding besides the lack of vegetation as land cover in the settlement. This research aims to identify the management and control/control of floods in general. This is done to obtain information on several things that are considered important in management and to assess the understanding of the community and government regarding flood control/management. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. This research results from the community's understanding of floods and community actions in dealing with floods. Understanding of flooding in the form of causes of flooding, and the importance of the role of vegetation on land cover and the creation of infiltration wells. The recommendation for the government is to dredge sedimentation as well as deepen the Ampal watershed, and create a polder as a substitute for water catchment areas because there are many residential areas around the Ampal watershed which do not allow water to flow directly into the watershed. The recommendation for the community is to build an infiltration well in the Gang Mufakat.
