Abstract

Patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) is a plant that have activity of inhibiting the Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria, which was known as the cause of acnes. Flavonoids and tannin as antibacterial compounds which supposedly can act as an active antiacne. Purposes of this research is formulating extract gel of patikan kebo and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis by agar difussion method using paper disc and to know stability of the gel. The result was analyzed by One Way ANOVA with confidence level of 95%, followed by Duncan test. The result of this research showed test antibacterial activity that difference among the concentration extract has a noticeable difference zone of inhibition and extract gel of patikan kebo not have good physical quality during 28 days of storage. Abstract

Bamban (Donax canniformis (G. Forst.) K. Schum.) is one of the family Marantaceae plant that has many uses such as traditional medicine. Methanol extract of bamban leaves contains phenolic, tannins and saponins compounds. The purpose of this research is to determine the class of compounds that has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) methanol extract of bamban leaves. This extract was prepared using maceration method with methanol solvent. Determination the class of compounds was initiated by bioautografi test in order to determine spots which has have antibacterial activity. Subsequently, the spot were identified the class of compound using reagent spray FeCl3 and H2SO4 10%. The determination of MIC and MBC using dilution method. Research showed there are three compounds that had antibacterial activity. These compounds were predicted as spot I and spot II which were phenolic compounds and spot III as a saponin compound. MIC and MBC value of the methanol extract of leaves bamban leaves 8% and 13%, respectively.

Abstract

Research on the formulation of preparations mouthwash prevention of dental plaque extract of cocoa beans also has been tested in Streptococcus mutans bacteria by variations in the concentration of glycerin as a humectant in preparation which aims to determine the effect of different concentrations of glycerin as a humectant to the physical properties, chemical properties and inhibition zone Streptococcus mutans bacteria in mouthwash formula and to know the mouthwash formula that has the physical quality and the highest antibacterial activity. The method used includes the step of extraction of cocoa beans, preparation of a mouthwash with 4 formula using variations of glycerin F1 (0%), F2 (15%), F3 (20%) and F4 (25%) followed by an evaluation formula that includes organoleptic tests, pH test and the test of inhibition diameter. Tests performed on days 0, 7, 14 and 21. The results showed the concentration of glycerin as a humectant in a mouthwash formula cocoa seed extract has an effect on the diameter of inhibition zone, but did not have a significant effect on the physical and chemical properties of cocoa seed extracts mouthwash, The concentration of glycerin which meets the physical quality and the most excellent antibacterial activity that is 15% contained in the formula 2.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang uji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak daun sereh (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi karbopol, konsentrasi ekstrak, dan kombinasi keduanya terhadap stabilitas gel dan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Ekstrak daun sereh (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) diperoleh dengan cara maserasi dengan etanol 96%. Desain penelitian menggunakan analisis data ANOVA rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% dan karbopol sebagai basis gel dengan konsentrasi 0,5%, 1% dan 2%. Evaluasi stabilitas sediaan mencakup uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji viskositas, dan uji aktivitas antibakteri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi konsentrasi ekstrak mempengaruhi stabilitas dan aktivitas antibakteri gel ekstrak daun sereh (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle). Variasi konsentrasi karbopol mempengaruhi aktivitas antibakteri tetapi tidak mempengaruhi stabilitas. Kombinasi variasi konsentrasi karbopol dan ekstrak mempengaruhi aktivitas antibakteri. Kombinasi perlakuan yang baik diperoleh pada formula A2B4, karena memiliki aktivitas antibakteri tertinggi yaitu 14,56 mm.

Abstract

Background: The pandemic Covid-19 has had an impact on various aspects of life, both socially and economically. One of the government's responsibilities is in financing the treatment of Covid-19 patients, which is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK.01.07/MENKES/5673/2021 regarding technical instructions for claiming the cost of Covid-19 services. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the average direct medical costs and according to the INA-CBGs rates for Covid-19 patients and the effect of length of stay, severity and comorbidities on the total cost from a hospital perspective. Material and Methods: This study was an observational descriptive study, used a sample of patients diagnosed with Covid-19 inpatients at Anutapura Hospital Palu in 2020. The sample was used 134 patients, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data collected includes patient characteristics, direct medical costs (consultation fees, visits, rooms, medical procedures, medical devices, examinations and drugs) and INA-CBGS rates. Results: the Covid-19 patients were hospitalized for 14 days (65.67%) with severe severity (92.54%), patients without comorbidities (comorbidities) (74.63%) and included in the group with INA-CBGs code was A-4-13-III (92.54%). The average direct medical cost of the patient was Rp. 5,371,333, with the largest cost being the room fee, which was 32.57% of the total cost. The average INA-CBG's tariff was Rp. 123,019,851. Conclusions: The INA-CBGs tariff was higher than direct medical costs with a difference of Rp. 117,648,518. The results of the linear regression test, it was found that there was a partial or simultaneous effect between length of hospitalization, severity and incidence of comorbidities on total direct medical costs.
