Abstract

This study follows the previous study entitle Problem-based Learning (PBL) in reflective pedagogy paradigm (RPP): Innovative learning in pharmaceutical care, which identified the learning material as complicated. This study aimed to provide an appropriate method for performing pharmacy management and pharmaceutical care in Community Pharmacy. Data collection was done using an assessment instrument to identify student’s achievement. The previous study encompasses preceptors and students in developing learning material, which cause it more valid and reliable to be implemented. The study was conducted in Yogyakarta, Surakarta, and Semarang city. The effectiveness of the learning material was shown by the grade of student’s achievement in learning outcome and the clear state with confidence in the expression of reflection and action-plan. Most of the students in the 3 cities achieved an excellent grade both in the problem-solving field, and presentation of the assignment. The students reflected that the learning material is simple and suitable in practicing pharmaceutical care and pharmacy management, moreover, they can state their plan to work as a Community Pharmacist with confidence. Therefore, PBL in the RPP method is ready to be used in practicing pharmaceutical care in the Community Pharmacy.

Abstract

Clopidogrel, an antithrombotic drug, has been proven by FDA as Plavix was initially used for the prevention of vascular occlusive that cause of myocardial infarction, stroke, and vascular death in patients with atherosclerosis and then it is used to treat Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). Aim of the study is to compare the effectiveness of Clopidogrel to aspirin and ticlopidine by meta-analysis of CLASSICS (The Clopidogrel Aspirin Stent International Cooperative Study), MATCH trial dan CAPRIE trial. Results of the study show that the effectiveness of Clopidogrel is significantly higher, however the risk of ischemic and bleeding is lower than aspirin and ticlopidine. Cost-effectiveness of Clopidogrel in avoiding secondary stroke in one episode is approximately US $ 33,000, and aspirin is only US $ 1400. In Indonesia the price of Clopidogrel is ranged from US $1.5 to US $3 each tablet, while the price of aspirin ranged from US $ 0.35 to US $ 0.72. However, in Indonesia Clopidogrel is now in the list of National Formulary, this fact might have contributed to the increasing use of Clopidogrel, which has reached around 1000 tablets per day in each hospital while aspirin has reached almost 1500 tablets per day.

Abstract

The development of the modern age is a lot of changes in education is the paradigm of teacher-centered learninginto student-centered learning which has a very important role in maximizing its competence in classroom management. One of the lessons in chemistry education that has problems is organic chemistry courses. Based onthe reflections applied to teachers and students "What has been gained from the learning process?", "What is thevalue obtained while the process is underway?" And "What will be done next (implementation)?". The results arestill very unsatisfactory, this is due to the limited ability of lecturers in the learning process. Associated with these conditions, then of course required intensive changes and planned for comprehensive improvement associated with the input to be generated. Efforts to be made is to improve the paradigm of learning. The selected learning paradigm is Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm (PPR). Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm was chosen because based on the results of research can improve the performance of lecturers in teaching, improve the readiness of lecturers in teaching, and make students able to reflect the learning process, and students become more active. The research was conducted following a workshop with lecturers who have implemented Reflective Pedagogy at Sanata Dharma University Yogyakarta. Stages in Reflective Pedagogy are context, experience, reflection, action and evaluation. It is expected by the end of two meetings. To be able to apply PPR, a lecturer needs to be equipped with special training on PPR-based teaching strategies as well asreflection skills (ICAJE, 1993, Gwaza et al., 2010; Schaub-de Jong dkk.2011; Wijoyo et al., 2016). Based on the results of the teacher reflection, it is increasingly realized that the preparation of learningis very important, and it is realized. While based on the results of reflection students stated that the purpose oflearning is clear, the material relevant to the profession of students, and understanding of the material becomeseasier, and the moral values for students. This case study is also in line with previous research that John Dewey(1933), He argued that learning from experience is enriched by reflecting on experience and Donald A. Schön (1987) theorized that reflective practice represents an important factor to improve professional activity. Jack Mezirow, (1991, 2000) gives reflection a central role in learning because through it we become aware of the ways in which we interpret reality and give meaning to actions and behavior. Writing-to-learn tasks should encourage students to conceptualize writing in a way that emphasizes exploration, expressive inquiry, discovery, problem-solving, decision making and knowledge construction.Key Word: Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm, case study, Organic Subject

Abstract

Since 2020 the world was shocked by the Corona Virus which is a new type of virus called SARS-CoV2 (Covid-19). This virus has infected thousands of millions of people around the world in a very short time (Dwidevi, 2020). Especially in Indonesia, the Government has issued a disaster emergency status starting from February 29, 2020 to May 29, 2020 related to the corona virus pandemic with a period of 91 days (Buana, 2020). This study aims to identify an overview of public knowledge regarding the factors in health protocols that must be adhered to in preventing Covid-19 and examine the influence of health protocols on people's lifestyles. The data in this study were collected by in-depth interviews through qualitative research methods, using open-ended questions and obtained 5 themes to facilitate the process of data analysis by researchers. It can be concluded that public knowledge in the application of health protocols in Central Buton Regency is quite good even though with different perspectives and perceptions, most people understand the importance of protecting themselves from Covid-19 transmission, but many people still have doubts about the existence of Covid -19 due to the lack of willingness of facilities to make a response to comply with health protocols. This is known from the number of respondents who know the importance of health protocols such as wearing masks as many as 83 respondents, washing hands as many as 86 respondents and 53 respondents who apply health protocols by maintaining / social distance.

Abstract

A Community Service Program (PkM / Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) have been carried out named “The Utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA / Tanaman Obat Keluarga) among Mothers in Nglanggeran Village, Patuk District, Gunung Kidul Regency, D.I. Yogyakarta”. This PkM activity aims to provide information to the Women Farmers Group (KWT / Kelompok Wanita Tani) in Nglanggeran Village about the benefits of family medicinal plants that can be planted around the house. This activity was carried out in May 2022. Education was carried out using the modified CBIA (Active Person Learning Method). The CBIA method facilitates participants to be active in learning the material through small group discussions led by a facilitator. The results of group discussions are written in working papers and presented to the plenary among groups. The results showed that: 1) participants still considered the use of herbs to have no side effects at all; 2) they are used to using popular medicinal plants to treat minor health complaints, such as crushed dadap leaves to treat fever, squeezed turmeric water for stomach pain, lime juice and soy sauce for cough medicine, and bay leaf decoction for gout. The mothers' response to holding this event was very enthusiastic, so it was necessary to carry out further activities in the form of training on TOGA processing to maintain family health.
