Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas kegiatan Klinik Matematika dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dasar matematika siswa SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain desain pretest-post-test non-equivalent group. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 12 Berau, yaitu masing-masing 31 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal pretest (α = 0,800) dan post-test (α = 0,800) masing-masing sebanyak 30 butir berbentuk isian singkat. Skor pretest dan post-test diolah dan disajikan dengan statistik deskriptif. Selanjutnya ditentukan n-gain dari kedua kelas, lalu dilakukan uji beda sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan skor siswa dari kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Setelah dilakukan uji hipotesis, gap peningkatan pada kedua kelas tersebut signifikan secara statistik (p(0,033) < α(0.05)). Dengan demikian, disimpulkan Klinik Matematika meningkatkan kemampuan dasar matematika siswa SMA secara signifikan.This study was aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Klinik Matematika in improving the basic mathematical abilities of high school students. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent group pretest-post-test design. The subjects of this research were students of 11th grade of SMAN 12 Berau, there are 31 students each as the experimental and control group. The research instrument was a short answer pretest (α = 0,800) and post-test (α = 0,800) which consist of 30 items. Pretest and post-test scores were analysed and presented with descriptive statistics. Then the n-gain of the groups is determined, so an independent sample test can be performed. The results showed that the improving in student scores from the experimental group was higher than the control group. After hypothesis tested, the gap of the two groups was statistically significant (p (0.033) <α (0.05)). Thus, it was concluded that the Klinik Matematika significantly improved the basic mathematical abilities of high school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan proses matematis siswa Kalimantan Timur dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika model PISA (Programme for International Students Assessment). Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 300 siswa kelas IX SMP Kalimantan Timur yang belum pernah mewakili Indonesia sebagai sampel PISA bidang Matematika. Siswa tersebut tersebar dari tiga level sekolah (rendah, sedang, tinggi) yang ditentukan berdasarkan hasil Ujian Nasional 2016 pada mata pelajaran matematika. Pengumpulan data menggunakan 16 butir soal matematika model PISA (α = 0,835) yang mencakup tiga proses matematis: formulate, employ dan interpret. Kemampuan siswa dianalisis berdasarkan mean measure logit dan selanjutnya ditransformasi ke skala dan level kemampuan matematika PISA, sehingga dapat dibandingkan dengan rata-rata kemampuan siswa Indonesia dan negara OECD dalam studi PISA. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa Kalimantan Timur berada di bawah rata-rata negara OECD. Namun hasil tersebut lebih baik dibandingkan capaian skor siswa Indonesia yang menjadi sampel pada PISA 2015. Berdasarkan kemampuan dalam proses matematis, kemampuan siswa dari level tinggi ke rendah berturut-turut adalah formulate, employ dan interpret. Selain itu, kemampuan proses formulate siswa Kalimantan Timur dari sekolah kategori tinggi di atas rata-rata negara OECD. East kalimantan students’ mathematical process proficiency in solving PISA-like mathematicsAbstractThis study was aimed to describes East Kalimantan students’ mathematical processes proficiency in solving a PISA-like mathematics test. The study was carried out with 300 East Kalimantan ninth-grade students who haven’t represented Indonesia as Mathematics PISA samples. The students were spread across three school levels (low, medium, high) determined based on the results of the 2016 National Examination in mathematics. Data collection uses 16 items of PISA-like mathematics test (α = 0.835) which includes three mathematical processes: formulate, employ, and interpret. Student proficiency was analyzed based on mean measure logit and subsequently transformed to the scale and level of PISA mathematics proficiency so that it can be compared with the average proficiency of Indonesian students and OECD countries in the PISA study. The results of the data analysis show that the average proficiency of East Kalimantan students is below the average of OECD countries. However, these results are better than the average score of Indonesian students who were sampled at PISA 2015. Based on proficiency in the mathematical process, the proficiency of students from high to low levels consecutively namely: formulate, employ, and interpret. In addition, proficiency in the formulating of East Kalimantan students from high-level schools is above the average of OECD countries.

Abstract

Online learning has become more popular during the Covid-19 pandemic, including in mathematics. However, many educators have raised concerns whether there are critical factors determining the mathematics achievement during online learning. This study examines online learning readiness (OLR), math anxiety (MA), online platforms used in learning (Zoom Meeting and Google Classroom) and gender as determinants of mathematics achievement students in online learning. The participants in this study were 197 students of a private university in Samarinda, Indonesia. Online learning readiness and math anxiety were gathered by means of questionnaires. The questionnaires were deemed valid ( 0.500) and reliable (OLR = 0.903; MA = 0.888) based on Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Cronbach’s Alpha respectively. Other variables function as dummy based on the attributes possessed and learning experienced by the participants. The data were analyzed using standard multiple linear regression and multiple linear regression with dummy variables. The results reveal that online learning readiness, math anxiety, online learning platforms and gender had a significant effect on students' mathematics achievement in online learning. In addition, online learning platforms and gender contribute to the difference effect of online learning readiness and math anxiety to mathematics achievement. The results suggest that educators and educational institutions should consider these important aspects to optimize the advantages and effectiveness of online learning.

Abstract

This study explores the significance of influence of achievement motivation and SRL toward students’ mathematics learning outcomes. This was an ex post facto research. The population was all tenth-grade students of MAN 2 Samarinda, West Kalimantan, Indonesia in the school year 2013/2014. The sample was selected by cluster sampling, as well as obtained four classes as a sample. The data were collected by questionnaires of achievement motivation and SRL, and math formative test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study is the assumption of regression equation Ŷ = -21,682 + 0,400X1 + 0,239X2 with F value is 40,043 and the significance is 0,000. Hence, there is a significant combination of achievement motivation and SRL through students’ mathematics achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan literasi matematika siswa SMP IT Cordova ditinjau dari domain konteks, yaitu personal, occupational, societal dan scientific. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 117 siswa kelas IX SMP IT Cordova pada tahun pembelajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument berupa 16 butir soal model PISA yang telah dikembangkan pada penelitian sebelumnya. Instrumen penelitian telah melalui validasi oleh expert judgement. Reliabilitas soal tergolong baik yaitu, 0,835. Soal model PISA terdistribusi merata pada keempat domain konteks. Data penelitian berupa jawaban siswa yang diberi skor berdasarkan rubrik penskoran, lalu dikonversi ke skala 0-100. Skor tersebut dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif lalu disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi matematika siswa SMP IT Cordova tergolong sedang. Berdasarkan domain konteks, literasi matematika SMP IT Cordova lebih dominan pada konteks scientific, yakni berada pada kategori tinggi. Sedangkan konteks occupational merupakan konteks yang paling rendah dikuasai oleh siswa SMP IT Cordova meskipun masih dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid mengakibatkan proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara daring sepenuhnya. Perubahan metode belajar memberikan dampak terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi yang tepat dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika secara daring, termasuk memilih platform pembelajaran daring. Di antara platform pembelajaran daring yang sering digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah Zoom Meeting dan Google Classroom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar matematika yang menggunakan platform Zoom Meeting dan Google Classroom. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain the post-test two experimental group design dengan dua kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok Zoom Meeting dan kelompok Google Classroom. Perlakuan dilakukan kepada 197 mahasiswa IAIN Samarinda yang mengambil mata kuliah matematika. Hasil belajar matematika diambil dari skor UAS dan nilai akhir. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan statistik deskriptif dan diuji beda menggunakan statistika non parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika mahasiswa yang menggunakan Zoom Meeting lebih baik daripada Google Classroom. Meskipun begitu, platform Zoom Meeting dan Google Classroom tergolong efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu, mengombinasikan kedua platform tersebut dalam pembelajaran matematika diduga meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This study was aimed to investigate effect of National Examination (UN) and curriculum also their interaction effect on students’ performance in solving TIMSS model Mathematics problems. This study was carried out with 300 8th graders of East Kalimantan students. The participants were from three mathematic National Examination result school categories on 2016 (low, moderate and high) and two implemented curriculum types (KTSP and Currciculum 2013). Data collection used 28 items TIMSS model Mathematics problems (α = 0.837) which contained content and cognitive domain. Data analysis used two ways analysis of variance. Data analysis revealed that there were significance main effect of national examination and curriculums, also interaction  effect between of them on mathematic achievement. There were significance main effect of national examination and curriculums on content domain. But, there was no significance interaction effect between of them on performance in solving geometry. There were significance main effect of national examination and curriculums on cognitive domain. But, there was no significance interaction effect between of them on knowing thinking level.

Abstract

Efforts to strengthen religious moderation in the madrasah environment are strongly influenced by the madrasah teacher's perception of religious moderation. It relates to the extent of the socialization of religious moderation to madrasah teachers. The study aims to describe the socialization of religious moderation to madrasah teachers in East Kalimantan and their perceptions of the importance of religious moderation for students. An online survey was conducted of 73 madrasah teachers in East Kalimantan. The survey consists of two close-ended questions and one open-ended question. The answers of close-ended questions were processed and presented descriptively. The answers of open-ended questions were analyzed through the stages of reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that the majority of respondents (78%) have participated in socialization about religious moderation. Most respondents (91%) also agree that religious moderation is important for students. The reasons for the importance of religious moderation for students are to foster student tolerance, maintain the integrity of the nation, prevent extreme religious attitudes, adequate to the needs of the era, part of the obligatory of Allah SWT and so that students do not dichotomize between religious knowledge and general science. Even so, there are still teachers who doubt the importance of religious moderation for students. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen sustainable religious moderation in order to realize a common perception of religious moderation in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Abstract This research is to find out the strategy for developing Islamic values ​​carried out by SMPIT Cordova Samarinda. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research, there is a strategy developed by the school in developing Islamic values ​​in students. Namely, the implementation of sunnah fasting, hours of habituation (monitoring children's activities during recess), reciting Al-Matsurat remembrance, mentoring, dhuha prayers, midday and afternoon prayers in congregation at school, getting used to sunnah prayers, carrying out Mabit (Night of Building Faith and Piety) and through motivational or reminder writings that are pasted or posted in certain places. As well as those who play an active role in the process of developing Islamic values ​​for SMPIT Cordova Samarinda students are all school teachers and even all school residents from teachers, administrative staff, security guards, canteen guards and cleaners also play an active role
