Abstract

Dental caries is a disease experienced by almost 90% of children. The results of the 2018 Basic Health Research show an increase of around 40% in the rate of dental and oral health problems in South Kalimantan compared to the 2013 Riskesdas. Where the rate of dental and oral health problems in South Kalimantan in 2013 was 36.1%, increasing to 59.60% in 2018. This activity aims to increase dental and oral health knowledge and tooth brushing skills, improve dental and oral hygiene, reduce the rate of dental caries. The targets of this community service are students at SDN Pekauman 2 Martapura. The implementation of community service activities consists of several stages, namely: Preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. At the implementation stage, dental health education and mass toothbrush assistance were carried out. The results obtained increased knowledge about dental health from medium to high criteria.

Abstract

Pengetahuan dan sikap ibu terhadap kesehatan atau perawatan gigi dan mulut anak cukup baik akan tetapi perilakunya yang belum sesuai dengan pengetahuan dan sikapnya. Dari Laporan Tahunan Puskesmas Malinau tahun 2021 diketahui terdapat banyak anak yang mengalami karies gigi yang diduga berkaitan dengan pengetahuan orangtua di SDN Malinau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan ibu tentang cara menyikat gigi dengan karies pada murid kelas III & IV SDN Malinau Kecamatan Loksado Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan, dengan metode yang digunakan adalah Observasional Analitik. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross Sectional Study. Teknik sampel adalah total sampling dengan jumlah sebanyak 40 sampel. Hasil analisis statistik yang digunakan Uji Chi-Square diketahui dengan melihat pada Continuity Correction, karena tabel 2x2 dan tidak ada nilai sel yang lebih rendah dari 5. Didapatkan nilai p= 0,005 dengan tingkat kemaknaan 0,05 (5%) sehingga p < α 0,05. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan pengetahuan ibu tentang menyikat gigi dengan karies gigi pada kelas III & IV di SDN Malinau Kecamatan Loksado Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan, dan disarankan melaksanakan kegiatan UKGS yang bekerja sama antara sekolah dan petugas kesehatan gigi sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesehatan gigi baik  promotif, preventif maupun kuratif

Abstract

Based on preliminary studies by researchers to students of the Nutrition Department of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Banjarmasin by taking 10 respondents. It was obtained from the 10 respondents that 7 respondents chewed with one side of the jaw, while 3 respondents chewed with two sides of the jaw. The purpose of this study was to know the relationship between the habit of chewing one side of the jaw with calculus index in 1st year students majoring in nutrition at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Banjarmasin. This research method uses analytical survey research, the research design uses cross sectional and the sample uses purposive sample with a total sample of 74 person. The results of data analysis using the Chi Square test. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents had the habit of chewing on one side of their jaw, and the calculus index among first-year nutrition department students was mostly categorized as moderate. The statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between the habit of chewing on one side of the jaw and the calculus index, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<a, 0.05), indicating the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). In conclusion, there is a relationship between the habit of chewing on one side of the jaw and the calculus index among first-year nutrition department students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Banjarmasin. It is recommended for students to will develop the habit of chewing food using both sides of their jaw.

Abstract

Dental and oral health is a problem that requires continuous handling. Most Indonesians have improper brushing habits. Most people in South Kalimantan are still not right in brushing their teeth about the right time to brush their teeth, namely the morning after breakfast and the night before going to bed The habit of brushing teeth can lead to dental caries. This study aims to determine the relationship between the accuracy of brushing teeth with permanent first molar caries for grade V and VI students of SDN Sungai Landas, Karang Intan District. The research design used was "cross sectional". The population in this study was 55 students and the study sample amounted to 55 students of grades V and VI of SDN Sungai Landas. The sampling technique used is Total Sampling. The technique used for data collection is by distributing questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of this study found that from 55 students in grades V and VI there were 43 students who had caries and only 8 students who did not experience caries. Based on chi-square analysis, stating that a p value of 0.000 < α (0.05) is obtained so that it is smaller than α = 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the accuracy of brushing teeth with permanent first molar tooth caries of grade V and VI students of SDN Sungai Landas, Karang Intan District. It is recommended that the holding of UKGS activities in schools and through continuous counseling on dental and oral health can increase the knowledge of SDN Sungai Landas students.

Abstract

Tidak semua pelayanan perawatan gigi tiruan berhasil, karena banyak ditemui keluhan-keluhan pasien, yang mengakibatkan terganggunya fungsi mastikasi yang akan berpengaruh terhadap pemilihan makanan, sehingga nantinya mempengaruhi asupan makanan seseorang dan status nutrisinya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan gigi tiruan lepasan yang tidak ergonomis dengan status gigi pada usia 45-74 tahun di masyarakat RT 12 kelurahan kemuning kota Banjarbaru.Berdasarkan jumlah status gizi pada usia 45-74 tahun sebanyak 24 jiwa (48%) berkategori Gemuk lebih banyak dari yang memiliki status gizi berkategori kurus 19 jiwa (38%) dan yang memiliki status gizi berkategori normal 7 jiwa (14%). Responden normal paling sedikit dalam pemakaian gigi tiruan baik yang ergonomis maupun yang tidak ergonomis, responden dengan status gizi kurus dan gemuk paling banyak menggunakan gigi tiruan yang tidak ergonomis.Kesimpulannya ada hubungan penggunaan gigi tiruan lepasan yang tidak ergonomis dengan status gizi pada usia 45-74 tahun di masyarakat RT 12 kelurahan kemuning kota Banjarbaru. Saran yang diberikan yaitu Jika ada gangguan pada penggunaan gigi tiruan diharapkan untuk melakukan pengecekan, agar tidak terjadi luka yang dapat mempengarahi status gizi penggunanya.

Abstract

Dental and oral health education is an effort made to change the behavior of a person, group of people, or society so that they have the ability and habit to behave healthily in the field of dental and oral health. Counseling using picture story books is an interesting way to convey information about health, especially dental and oral health, to children. This study aims to determine the effect of counseling using the illustrated picture book method on knowledge of dental caries in children aged 10-12 years at MIS Raudhatul Jannah Martapura. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was 42 people. Sampling was done using the total sampling technique with 32 people as the number of respondents. The results showed that the average knowledge before counseling was 8.09 and after counseling was 8.84, representing an average increase in knowledge of 0.75. Paired Sample T-Test and Normality test were carried out, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test indicated that there was a significant effect on dental caries knowledge after counseling using the illustrated picture book method, with a p-value of 0.001, which is less than the significance level (α) of 0.05. In conclusion, there is an effect of counseling using the illustrated picture book method on the knowledge of dental caries in children aged 10-12 years at MIS Raudhatul Jannah Martapura. For future researchers who want to research counseling using the illustrated picture book method, it is necessary to add modifications to the storyline to make it more appealing and creative, in order to attract children's interest and attention.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems are the most common problems in children. The 2022 screening data on the dental health of school children in the Pulang Pisau Health Center working area at SDN Pulang Pisau 5, obtained a percentage of caries 94.10%. This research aims to find out the differences before and after Counseling Using Animated Video Media and Booklets on the Knowledge of How to Brush Your Teeth in Grade IV and V Elementary School Students of Pulang Pisau 5. Type of research used is a pseudo-experiment (quasi eksperiment) using the statistical test of the T-Test Paired Sample Test and Independent T-test. From the results of knowledge research using animated video media in grade IV and V students of SDN Pulang Pisau 5 Pulang Pisau Regency got a good category of 87.1%, and knowledge after counseling with booklet media got a good category of 74.2%. The test results carried out after extension using animated video media and booklets obtained a value of ρ= 0.175 this value showed greater than α= 0.050. There is no level of difference in knowledge on how to brush your teeth after counseling with animated video media and booklets
