Abstract

Motivation and learning are two things that affect each other . One of factors that affect the motivation of learning is environment learning and parenting that determine the quality of student learning outcomes. The objective of this study was to examine the correlation between parenting with learning environment and learning motivation of students in cerdas school. The study was conducted in a cerdas school, Tampan Pekanbaru. The sample consists of 57 students in cerdas school. The approach was conducted in this study are qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that positive parenting in terms of parental control (64%), clarity of communication (61%) and the demands of the parents become mature (54%). Students have the internal motivation (68%) and external motivation (55%) in positive learning. There are significant affect and positive among parenting with student learning motivation with significantion value 0.000 and determination coefficient 69.1 percent. It was concluded that parenting affect to learning motivation of students. It is recommended to parents and the school to be able to apply a good parenting style, creating a situation that can stimulate learning interest of students to actively learn and pay attention to the needs of school children.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop high antioxidant cake product with red palm oil (RPO) content to substitute the use of margarine as a potential functional food. This study used a complete randomized design with four levels of RPO substitution for margarine, namely F0 (0:100), F1 (80:20), F2 (90:10), and F3 (100:0). Organoleptic results showed that high antioxidant cake F3 was best in which also contained the highest RPO addition level. The high antioxidant cake F3 had yellow colour, hardness of 650.67 gf, bulk density of 0.27 g/ml, 4.31% moisture, 1.48% ash, 21.66% fat, 9.76% protein, 62.80% carbohydrate, 40.74 ppm/100 g β-carotene, and the 470.44 mg/100 g antioxidant activity. Thus the product can be categorized as high in β-carotene. Therefore, this product has a potential to be a functional food options, especially for atherosclerosis prevention.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of accelerated physical, psychological, and intellectual growth and development. It includes the development in sexual maturity of adolescents. In order to promote safe and healthy sexual and reproductive health, adolescents should be equipped with adequate knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy regarding the matter. The role of peer influence is highest during this stgae; thus, health promotion and risk communication through peer education has shown to be effective in many settings on adolescents. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the peer education method as a form of health promotion in adolescent sexual and reproductive health and risk communication at SMKN “X” Pekanbaru. It was a quasi-experimental study involving 52 students. The participants were randomized into two groups, 26 in the experimental group and 26 in the control group. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by t-test. The results showed there were significant differences in the mean changes in knowledge (p=0.000), attitudes (p=0.000), and self-efficacy (p=0.000) about sexual behavior in the experimental group receiving peer education compared to the control group. However, there was no significant difference in the mean changes in the role of peer influence between the two groups (p = 0.725). Therefore, peer education as a method in sexual and reproductive health promotion and risk communication positively changed adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy about sexual behavior. Hence, it is suggested for schools to provide health promotion program regarding adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health in collaboration with the Pekanbaru City Health Office and supplement it with a peer education method.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk  meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pengelolaan abon ikan lele dan menciptakan peluang usaha secara nyata di masa mendatang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai dengan pengadaan alat. Metode yang digunakan adalah training of trainer (TOT), yaitu pemberian materi melalui ceramah, praktek langsung, dan pendampingan. Pemberdayaan ini telah mampu menghasilkan 3 varian rasa abon ikan lele (manis, asin dan pedas). Hasil organoleptik menunjukkan bahwa abon lele dengan rasa manis adalah yang terbaik. Abon lele terpilih memiliki kadar air 7,71%, abu 4,59%, protein 26,50%, lemak 24,12%, dan negatif dari mikroba Salmonella. Produk abon lele telah memperoleh lisensi P-IRT, berlabel dan berstandar halal. Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu, sehingga perlu dilakukan inovasi lebih lanjut dalam pengolahan abon lele agar produk yang dihasilkan dapat memiliki kualitas yang lebih baik. Empowerment of farmers through the production of shredded catfish AbstractThis activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of mothers through training and mentoring in the management of shredded catfish and create real business opportunities in the future. The activity starts with the procurement of tools. The method used was trained of trainers (TOT), namely the provision of materials through discourse, direct practice, and mentoring. This empowerment had to produce 3 flavors of shredded catfish (sweet, salty and spicy). The organoleptic results showed  that shredded catfish with sweet flavors was best. The shredded catfish selected had 7.71% moisture content, 4.59% ash, 26.50% protein, 24.12% fat, and negative from Salmonella microbes. The shredded catfish products have obtained P-IRT license, has labeled and halal standards. This activity is very useful in increasing the knowledge and skills of mothers, so that further innovation needs to be carried out in the processing of shredded catfish so that the products produced can be of better quality.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Minyak sawit merah (MSM) diperoleh dari pemurnian crude palm oil (CPO). MSM memiliki warna oranye-merah tua, dan diekstrak dari mesocarp buah pohonkelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis). MSM telah menarik perhatian dan mulai digunakan untukbeberapa aplikasi pangan.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui karakteristk fikokimia dan fungsional kualitas minyak sawit merah.Bahan dan Metode: MSM dianalisis kadar air, nilai peroksida,asam lemak bebas (FFA), warna untuk mengetahui sifat fisikokimia, sedangkan profil asamlemak dan kadar β-karoten untuk mengetahui sifat fungsional minyak. Kadar air ditentukandengan menggunakan oven-dry. Bilangan peroksida dan FFA ditentukan dengan metodetitrasi, warna ditentukan dengan skala warna CIE L * a * b *, profil asam lemak dilakukandengan metode kromatografi gas, dan β-karoten dilakukan dengan metode spektrofotometri.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MSM memiliki warna merah, kadar air 2,23%,nilai peroksida 4,55 mEq/kg, asam lemak bebas 0,06%, sedangkan profil asam lemakdidominasi oleh asam oleat 36,39%, asam palmitat 34,05%, asam linoleat 9,13%, asamlinoleat 0,26%, dan kandungan β-karoten 214,13 mg/kg. Hasil di atas memainkan perankunci dalam sifat fisikokimia dan kandungan fungsional untuk MSM. Oleh karena itu, hasilini merupakan basis pengetahuan yang berguna untuk penelitian lebih lanjut.Kesimpulan:bervariasi yang cenderung mencerminkan kestabilan dan kualitas minyak sawit. Karakteristikfisikokimia, profil asam lemak, dan kandungan β-karoten MSM juga perlu dimaksimalkanuntuk meningkatkan kualitasnya pada aplikasi produk pangan selanjutnya

Abstract

The utilization of home garden can support the availability of food diversity at the household level, while the variety of food pattern of family’s consumption will come true, nutritionally balanced and safety. Currently, the utilization of home garden has not been done optimally. Through utilization of home gardening and nutrition education is expected to provide sufficient added value in the food and nutrition needs of the family and be able to expand the knowledge and attitude of maternal nutrition. Therefore, to increase the utilization of home gardening is very necessary to education, guidance and provision of the necessary means. The objective of this study was to analyze the attitudes and knowledge of mothers through home gardening and nutritional education in guided village Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru. The research applied experimental design. The subjects were 100 mother, which were choosen from four village in Tenayan Raya. The results showed that: (1) educational status of mother has significant effect (p = 0.003), (2) the energy-protein consumption to family income has significant effect (p = 0.031), (3) the knowledge mothers of home gardening program with education have significant effect (p = 0.004), (4) the attitude of the mother towards the home gardening program with income and occupation status of mother each have significant effect (p = 0.035, p = 0.006), (5) analysis of the knowledge and attitude mother to education have significant effect (p = 0.024), (6) the knowledge and attitudes of the mother received nutritionaol education after the intervention have significant effect (p = 0.000).

Abstract

Stunting begins when the fetus is still in the womb and will be seen when the baby is born. The prevalence of stunting will continue to increase until entering the age of 24-59 months. Some factors that influence the incident are immunization status and diversity of food consumption in infants. This study aims to analyze the relationship between immunization status and diversity of toddler food consumption against stunting. This type of research is observational analytic quantitative research with cross-sectional design. Subjects were mothers with children aged 24-59 months in the working area of ​​UPTD Puskesmas Sungai Apit, Siak, totaling 211 people using systematic random sampling. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between toddlers' immunization status and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.006; POR = 95%; CI = 1,357-4,958). Likewise with the diversity of toddler food consumption on the incidence of stunting (p = 0.002; POR = 95%; CI = 1,516-5,571) showed significant results. It was concluded that immunization status and diversity of food consumption contributed to the incidence of stunting in infants. Keywords: Food consumption, immunization status, stunting, toddler

Abstract

Nutritional problems in adolescents are increasingly complex, one of which is nutritional anemia and skipping breakfast. It happens because of limited knowledge about balanced nutrition in adolescents. With the increasing nutritional problems of adolescents, the Community Service (PKM) team collaborates with partners, namely students of SMAN 1 Perhentian Raja, Kampar to carry out adolescents' nutrition literacy through the educational game GOAKSI (Go Aksi Bergizi). This activity effort to convey adolescent nutritional literacy through counseling the contents of my plate in meeting nutrition needs. The PKM was attended by 28 student 11th graders. All students were able to understand well the concept of balanced nutrition through the contents of my plate by an increase in the average value of knowledge from 5.4 to 8.0 (pre-test and post-test results) of 2.6 points. It is hoped that PKM activities can be carried out continuously with different topics, so that the formation of knowledge and positive attitudes of adolescents in fulfilling balanced nutrition and good food habits in overcoming adolescent nutritional problems.

Abstract

Lokasi budidaya ikan di perkotaan saat ini sangat terbatas karena digunakan untuk pemukiman dan pembangunan infrastruktur. Hal ini juga terjadi di Kelurahan Maharatu, Marpoyan Damai. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka solusi kreatif yang dilakukan melalui budidaya ikan dalam ember (budikdamber) dengan memaksimal lahan yang sempit, penggunaan air yang lebih hemat, modal yang relatif kecil dan mampu mencukupi kebutuhan gizi keluarga. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini memberikan penyuluhan dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat di Kelurahan Maharatu, Marpoyan Damai untuk mengenalkan pengembangan budikdamber dengan teknik yumina yang bertujuan untuk menyalurkan keterampilan serta meningkatkan edukasi. Program PKM dilakukan dalam waktu 1 minggu melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan pembuatan budikdamber serta pentingnya konsumsi ikan dan sayur tanggal 30 Januari 2020 yang di hadiri 20 orang ibu-ibu PKK dan anggota FKPM kelompok tani. Ikan yang digunakan adalah 60 bibit lele yang berukuran 7-10 cm dalam ember 80 L dan sayur kangkung. Hasil dari program ini adalah masyarakat menjadi lebih teredukasi dan menambah pengetahuan mereka mengenai praktik budikdamber yang mudah dan murah dengan pemanfaatan lahan yang terbatas. Hasil evaluasi diperoleh peningkatan pengetahuan sesudah dilakukannya penyuluhan dari 53% menjadi 95%. Melalui kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk mengkonsumsi makanan sehat, aman, bergizi yang berasal dari ikan dan sayuran.

Abstract

The stunting prevalence rate decreased in Kampar Regency from 2017 by 23% of the number of children under five in Kampar until 2019, it was able to be reduced to 11.88% which exceeded the national target of 14%, but the downward trend must still be monitored. Rimbo Panjang Village has a human empowerment cadre (KPM) which has been formed for approximately 1 year and is part of the village cadre that has special duties related to the stunting prevention convergence program. The work pattern of KPM has not been implemented optimally, especially in terms of targets and monitoring of health and nutrition services. Community service activities aim to optimize the role of KPM for stunting prevention in Rimbo Panjang Village. The activity was conducted from April until May 2021 and was attended by 14 cadres. The activity is divided into several stages, namely (1) the preparation, (2) the implementation, (3) the reflection, and (4) the evaluation. The implementation method is conducted through counseling, training or practice, and simulation. The result of this PKM activity is the transfer of knowledge through the various methods presented. It is hoped that in the future, by increasing the knowledge and skills of cadres, it can be implemented in the activities of Posyandu for toddlers so that they can participate in preventing stunting. This activity can be continued regarding training on an e-ppgbm application which is an electronic-based community-based nutrition recording and reporting.
