Abstract

Crime has increased from year to year in Indonesia with a variety of types of crimes caused by various problems such as economic, social, conflict and low legal awareness. Of the most prominent crimes in daily life are theft cases, both motor vehicle theft and theft of violence that make people feel afraid and uncomfortable in their activities. To reduce the sense of public discomfort in dealing with these cases. Portable Crime’s Detection is a portable device product that can detect thieves with an Android based. This product has two sides, namely portable devices that will be placed on objects and mobile / smartphone applications. This portable device is supported by GPS technology, technology that can track the location or existence of an object. This product is equipped with a vibration / vibration detection system so that users can be aware of interference from objects on portable devices. The internet has an important role in this product to report every activity that occurs on a portable device when needed. The device will send notifications or notifications to the user's smartphone application so users can track.

Abstract

Compared to direct current (DC) motors, the three-phase induction motors have several advantages such as: big torque, low maintenance cost, and rugged. For those reasons, induction motors are dependable as the prime mover in industrial and transportation sectors. In order to increase the performance of induction motors, a vector control based driving method had been deleveloped to operate the induction motors in various level of speed. Some manufacturers begin to use induction motors as the mover of 2 or 4-wheeled electric vehicles in city/urban transportation. Due to restricted capacity of battery as the power source, many researches on vector control are now focussed on advancing the driving scheme which in turn increasing mileage and lifetime of induction motors. One factor which supports that purpose is the evaluation of losses occurred during induction motor operation. During low speed operation, hysteresis loss as a consequence of stator core magnetization phenomenon takes a major part of overall losses. This research proposed a simple and applicable design of hysteresis loss determination on induction motor controlled by vector control scheme. The simulation using particular induction motor as a sample found that the iron loss PFE ranged between 2,55 x 10-8 to 1,09 x 103 Watt, the hysteresis loss Ph ranged between 2,07 x 10-8 to 5,15 x 102 Watt, and the hysteresis loss to iron loss rate ranged between 47,09 % to 81,18 %.

Abstract

PID is one of the simple controller, fast computing, easy to implement, reliable to face the disturbance especially to handle the linear system. Meanwhile induction motor is one of a high nonlinear system. Is PID can handle the induction motor. Therefore PID controller enhancement is needed. The controller has the ability to tune up the parameter while running. To tune-up, the controller needs a bunch of collections of parameters PID that ready to use. If we use the manual way to collect like trial and error, it will consume much power and time. And not all systems can be used the Ziegler-Nichols method. This research offering an algorithm for the autotuning PID parameter to control the speed of induction motor based on vector control to collect the PID parameter automatically. After validation by using LabVIEW simulation, the system provides a good speed response without overshoot when the speed increased and without undershoot when the speed decreased.

Abstract

In recent years there is an increasing demand for closely regulated dc power supply. Most of the power electronic converters in these power supplies used full wave rectifier. Bulky filter capacitor in rectifier can effect non-sinusoidal input current waveform (distorted). The difference in voltage and current waveform affected the power factor system. Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) as Power Factor Correction (PFC) with a fuzzy logic controller to be added in the system to achieved near to unity power factor. IBC operated in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM). Power factor near to unity can be achieved while rectifier supplied resistive load, the waveform of load current through back to input source have the same form with the input voltage. Simulation and hardware implementation is used by varying loads. The experimental results with a variable load value of IBC as PFC can improve the power factor system from 0.67 to 0.93.

Abstract

Today the use of the Finite Element Method for the analysis of the strength of a structure is increasingly popular. The method of analysis is generally made easy by using software. In this study an advanced storage platform construction structure was analyzed on the 50 PAX Crane Barge vessel. The structure of this vessel uses BV grade A steel. Profile in this forward storage construction platform, the structure withstand loads is 6.4 tons (3.2 tons portside and 3.2 tons startboard). Load conditions are considered to be static, dynamic and impact conditions. The structure of the forward storage platform uses the 75x75x6 L angle bar profile as the main amplifier, each 1829 mm apart. This main amplifier is connected directly to the plate, and functions as the main buffer of the load to be given. The results of the analysis using software in the form of von Mises stress, normal stress, and principal stress. As a verification, manual calculation is done using the Simple Supported Calculation method. In this study comparing von Mises stress, normal stress, and principal stress results of the Finite Element Method with stress results of Simple Supported Calculation. Abstract

High development activities have an impact on the dynamics of landuse change, including in coastal areas. This study aims to determine landuse in the coastal area of Sembulang, Galang Island, Batam City. The landuse information is obtained by interpreting land cover on remote sensing imagery and followed by a field survey. The field survey was conducted on March 22-25, 2019. A field survey to see the direct use of human activities on landuse was carried out at all points of the study area. The results showed that, landuse in the Sembulang coastal areas, Galang Island, Batam City such as forests, grasslands, settlements, and mangroves ecosystem. Government facilities that function for public services are also available in this region, such as Sembulang Urban Village and Galang Sub-District.

Abstract

Sun light is one form of energy from natural resources. These solar natural resources have been widely used to supply electrical power in communication satellites through solar cells. This solar cell can produce unlimited amounts of electrical energy directly taken from the sun. The solar panel itself has the maximum body temperature which influences the output of the solar panel. Solar cell panels have a decreased ability to generate electricity if it overheats or goes through the limits of effectiveness. Therefore, a cooling tower system is developed using the Fuzzy Logic method through this study with the aim of maximizing the efficiency of solar cell panels in generating electricity and analyzing Solar Panel systems( Photovoltaic). The data analyzed are: 1) The method of cooling solar panels using the cooling tower system with fuzzy logic methods, 2) Efficiency of Solar Cell Panels in generating electricity, 3) Electric power produced by solar cell panels. The results of this study explain that the use of fuzzy logic can regulate the speed of water for cooling on panels so that it can be said that the cooling system for solar panels is suitable for use in the tropics, because sunlight is very abundant and is in the equatorial area.

Abstract

Wearable-and-wireless Electrocardiograph (ECG) has been widely used for long term monitoring due to practical reasons. Besides its high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), one of patch benefits is its flexibility for users to place the electrodes. However, most of existing commercial wireless ECG patches displays Heart Rate Variability (HRV) only, without ability to provide or record the ECG waveform. Some of them employ two electrodes only: Right Arm (RA) and Left Arm (LA), without additional electrode called Right Arm Drive (RLD). In addition, It is beneficial to provide more than one wireless technology option for ECG patch. We propose a low cost wireless ECG patch that has ability to provide ECG waveform (Lead I) and calculate HRV automatically. Besides RA and LA, it utilized RLD electrode to increase Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR). For data processing, we employed ESP32, a low-power 32-bit microcontroller equipped with Bluetooth Classic (BT), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Wifi in a compact module. The test results showed that the proposed ECG patch resulted in more accurate HRV calculation as well as 2,7 times faster transition time compared to a commercial product.

Abstract

Catamarans are double hull ships which have many advantages over single hull ships with the same displacement. To increase catches, fishermen in Cilacap converted ships from the original single hull with outrigger to double hull (catamaran). Displacement of ships has doubled. But the ship's resistance increased to almost 4 times. To reduce the resistance of catamarans, some researchers use the concept of center bulb. In this study, the center bulb form used foil. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of center bulb position on ship resistance components by comparing 9 center bulb positions. The results stated that of the nine center bulb position configurations, Model 6 is the best model because at Fr 0.35 it can reduce ship resistance by up to 33%. For the viscous resistance component it is not significantly affected by the use of the center bulb. But on the wave resistance component, the use of this center bulb can reduce wave resistance by 47% at Fr 0.35.
