Abstract

Habbatus sauda' (Nigella sativa L) has been widely used by Indonesian people with capsule dosage form. In this study the researcher choose the form of suction tablets that aims to provide a form of treatment that can be given easily to children or elderly who are difficult to swallow the drug. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics of dry sucking tablets of habbatus sauda’ extracts with a combination of sucrose - mannitol as a filler material. Habbatus sauda' dried extract is made by water solvent and dried with freeze dryer. Habbatus sauda' dried extract tablet is made in 3 formulations with a combination of sucrose and mannitol namely FI (sucrose 1: manitol 5), FII (sucrose 1: manitol 6) and FIII (sucrose 1: manitol 7). The method of wet granulation is used in the production of dry sucking tablet of habbatus sauda’ dried extract. Granules tested include flow time test, silent angle, compressibility and moisture test. The habbatus sauda' dried extract suction tablets were tested for physical properties including weight uniformity, hardness, friability and tablet disolue time test. Data of granule test result and test of physical properties of tablet were compared with research, while granule flow time test and tablet hardness test were analyzed statistically using One Way ANOVA test with 95% confidence level. The results showed that there was an influence on the hardness and taste of suction tablets of habbatus sauda’ dried extract with a combination of sucrose-mannitol. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the suction tablet of Habbatus sauda extract with sucrose concentration (1): mannitol (5) has good criteria as suction tablet with tablet hardness 8,57/kg, soluble time 13.27 / minute and 0,12% friability

Abstract

Milkfish is one of the foods that are rich in protein, making it easy to rot and often preserved. One of the food preservatives used is formalin. Preservation using formalin is not recommended because it can cause damage to the liver and heart. So that in this study an attempt was made to determine the levels of formalin in milkfish so that people do not consume formalin milkfish which is detrimental to their health. Red dragon fruit skin has anthocyanin content which can be used to detect formaldehyde, because anthocyanin will easily react if it is mixed with strong acid so that when it binds with acid, the color of the juice of the dragon fruit skin will become thicker. In this study, the addition of Lime was added because Lime was used as a supporting work for the skin of red dragon fruit. This study was an experiment with 6 treatments and 2 replications. The treatments were (1) dragon fruit skin juice, left for 1 minute (2) dragon fruit skin juice, left for 3 minutes (3) dragon fruit skin juice, left for 5 minutes (4) squeezing dragon fruit skin and lime juice , left for 1 minute (5) squeezing dragon fruit skin and lime juice, left for 3 minutes (6) squeezing dragon fruit skin and lime juice, left for 5 minutes. Color separation in the solution is then recorded as data. The results showed that formalin examination on milkfish using only dragon fruit skin juice gave the results of the formation of complete color separation in the solution at minute 1 (treatment 1). While formalin examination on milkfish uses a combination of squeezing dragon fruit skin and lime giving the results of the formation of color separations and deposits in the solution completely in the 3rd minute (treatment 5). This can illustrate that the juice of dragon fruit skin and a combination of squeezed dragon fruit and lemon juice can be used to detect formalin content in milkfish. The use of dragon fruit skin juice is more effective than a combination of squeezing dragon fruit and lime skin.

Abstract

Cheese is dairy product. Microorganism are most widely used in starter, especially the cheese starter is a group of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), which is capable of producing acid Bacteri acid lactit (BAL) often used as starter in cheesemaking. This purpose of this study is variation of milk and starter in to improve the quality.In this research the ceddar making was conducted the varation milk and starter. cheddar cheese produced in this study analyzed the value of curd,water, and fat contained with Anava then followed by DMRT 5% level of significance. The best quality in the cheddar cheese at K2B2 , the randemen value 21.66, water value 38.66 and fat value 34.51.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major risk factors for chronic renal failure because it can cause damage to blood vessels in the kidney, thus reducing the ability of the kidneys to filter blood properly. Giving and analyzing antihypertensive drugs are very important in these circumstances, as it can accelerate the progression of the disease and increase the patient's mortality rate. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, said: „There is a cure for every disease‟. If the medicine is right for an illness, it will be healed with the permission of Allah 'Azza wajalla "(H.R. Muslim). Therefore, the aspects of efficacy and safety of drug use in patients need to be evaluated. The purpose of this study was to determine patient accuracy, drug accuracy and dose accuracy evaluated based on reference books in the use of antihypertensive therapy in outpatients with chronic renal failure with hemodialysis. This research is a descriptive research conducted at RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. Data were retrospective from medical records, using non-experimental methods. The patient sample was taken according to the inclusion criteria of the research by purposive sampling method. The results of this study indicate that there were 55 patients evaluated consisted of 35 men (64%) and 20 women (36%). Based on the data obtained it can be concluded that the use of antihypertensive drugs in chronic renal failure outpatients with hemodialysis at RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten 2017 shows right patient (100%), exact medicine (90,92%) and exact dose (98,19%).

Abstract

Habbatus sauda ' (Nigella sativa L.) have been examined have the content of flavonoid compounds that act as antioxidants. In order to be utilized more effectively and efficiently, it needs to be made innovation preparations with active substances habbatus sauda '. One of the innovations of preparations that can apply habbatus sauda ' as the active substance is troches. This research was conducted to find out the influence incurred due to the difference in binders combined with disintegrant on troches dosage habbatus sauda' extract. Binders used are amylum manihot and PVP while disintegrant used is Avicel PH 102. Troches’ made in four different formulas. The method used in the manufacture of troches is wet granulation with 70% ethanol spraying. On the stage of preformulation, carried out an analysis of halal ingredients. The analysis shows the critical point of halal ingredients used in the formulation is not found. The results of the evaluation of physical properties of granule and tablet indicates that the difference in binders combined with disintegrant affect the physical properties of granule and tablet. The best formula is the Formula 3 with an average value of hardness 8,69 kg/cm3 and the fragility of 0,54%.

Abstract

Self-medication is a part of the community's efforts to deal with minor illnesses by using over-thecounter drugs, limited over-the-counter drugs, and mandatory drug medicines without consulting a doctor first. This study was conducted to analyze the level of knowledge and rationality of the use of self-medication. Respondents had the aged in the range of 18-60 years at five Colomadu district drug stores. The retrieval data were done by interviewing used a questionnaire that had tested for validity and reliability. The respondents 110 with consecutive sampling method from five drug stores in Colomadu District. Data were analyzed by Chi-square test using Statistical Product and Servicer Solution (SPSS) version 17. The results showed that the level of knowledge of patients 37.3% wasclassified as poor, 39.1% classified as moderate and 23.6% classified as good. The use of selfmedication was 17.3% irrational and 82.7% rational. Based on the results of the chi-square test, the level of knowledge and rationality of self-medication was not influenced by gender, age, last education, and occupational factors. Based on the results of the study it was found that the level of knowledge of patients classified as moderate with a percentage of 39.1%. The rationality of selfmedication classified as rational with a percentage of 82.7%.

Abstract

Deodorant is a product created with the goal of reducing also covering body odor especially at the armpit through work against antimicrobial organisms cause the onset of smell. Aluminum is the active substances in the deodorant that is antibacterial and capable of reducing the amount of transpiration with underarm pores to clog. The threshold for the levels of aluminum in deodorant according to BPOM is 20%. This research was conducted to analyze the levels of aluminum salts contained in the deodorant stick which has been circulating widely in the community. Deodorant stick didestruksi using aqua regia (a mixture of HCl and HNO3), conc. For 2.5 hours. Aluminum Metal absorbance was measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA) at a specific wavelength. The results showed that the average aluminum levels on all three samples in sequence is, sample A 1123.77 mg/L, the sample B 1.714 mg/L, and sample C 1157.13 mg/l. While the rate of percent aluminum obtained in three sample test, sample A 2.25%, sample B 0.003%, and sample C 4.63%. All three sample test have fulfilled the BPOM standard requirements about the use of aluminium in deodorants,which is no more than 20%.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease characterized by high blood glucose levels. Various ways that people use for treatment, herbal is one of the choices. God will not create an illness unless Him has created the medicine. One of the plants that is often used to treatment diabetes mellitus is okra plants. Okra seeds could be processed into coffee which is used as a substitute for caffeinated coffee. Based on community experience, so this research to know the effectiveness test of steeping coffee from okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) seeds in alloxan-induced diabetic mice and to know the effective concentration of steeping coffee from okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) seeds in alloxan-induced diabetic mice. This research was an experimental study. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The sample consisted of 16 male mice. The study was divided into 4 groups, The sample consisted of16 male mice and divided into 4 group, giving aquadest as a positive control (PC) while in treatment T1 by giving steeping coffee from okra seeds with a concentration of 1.82 mg/grBW/day, 3.64 mg/grBW/day for T2 and T3 with a concentration of 5.46 mg/mgBW/day for 10 days . Data were analyzed using the SPSS 16.0. According to the results of the One Way ANOVA test with a significance level of 95% were obtained at 0,000 (p = <0.05) which means that, between treatments given by okra seeds coffee, okra seeds coffee were effective against blood glucose levels of mice after alloxan was induced. Based on the three treatments for the administration of okra seeds coffee with various concentrations, group T3 (5.46 mg/mgBW/day) with a significance value of 0,000 (p<0.05) which was the most effective for reducting blood glucose levels in alloxan-induced diabetic mice.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that likes cleanliness, in case of body hygiene, clothing, and environment. One of the diseases that arise because it does not keep the body clean is white discharge. Piper bettle folium and Alium sativum are some of the natural ingredients that has the potential as an antifungal. This research aims to see the effect of antifungal Candida albicans extract of Piper bettle folium and Alium sativum after formulated as a liquid soap preparation. Liquid soaps are made by hot process methods with 3 formulations of combination of Piper bettle folium and Alium sativum extract with a ratio of 1) 25%: 75% 2) 50%: 50% 3) 75%: 25%. The evaluation of liquid soap include organoleptic examination, pH, high foam, moisture content, homogeneity, and antifungal power test against Candida albicans fungus. The results of the testing of liquid soap quality of green betel leaf extract and garlic have met the standards SNI (Indonesia’s National Standards) set for the manufacture of liquid soap.The results showed that liquid soap extract of green betel leaf and garlic have antifungal activity against Candida albicans. The result of formulation with the highest inhibition zone is formulation 3 and formulation with the lowest inhibition zone is the formulation 1. The test of this liquid soap activity is higher than fluconazole as the positive control and liquid soap of female area spread in the market.

Abstract

Gestasional diabetes mellitus is a disease of diabetes which occurs during pregnancy, and it needs attention because several impact that can be caused. This study was conducted to evaluate insulin therapy by reviewing patient characteristics and patterns of insulin use in hospitalized patients in dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten which diagnosed gestasional diabetes mellitus and the effectiveness of insulin therapy by blood sugar measurement before and after insulin therapy. This type of research is descriptive which is done retrospectively. Population in this study were 16 patients with sample that fulfilled the inclusion criteria of 9 patients. The result of research indicated that more than half of Gestasional DM patients were over 30 years old, data also indicated 66,67% of Gestasional DM patients were not working, 55,56% patients had a highly educated, 88,89% patients treated for less than 7 days, 77,78% patients had Gestasional DM at 3rd trimester, and 55,56% patients underwent caesarea section. Insulin therapy was given by 3 types of insulin there are, rapid-acting insulin (Novorapid), long-acting insulin (Levemir), and mixed-action insulin (Novomix). The effectiveness of insulin therapy has been evaluated based on decreased blood glucose levels before and after insulin use. Statistically it can be concluded that insulin therapy in Gestasional DM patient can significantly decrease patient’s blood glucose level
