Abstract

Abstract: Background: Traditional medicine herb ingredient or ingredients are derived from growing-plants, animals, and minerals, galenik preparations or mixtures of these materials that are passed down through generations has been used for the treatment of. Sugar Palm roots (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb.) Merr.) nutritious as deciduous deciduous urine and menstruation. The purpose of this research is to know the diuretic activity of root extract of white rat strain aren wistar (Rattus norvegicus), and knowing the optimal levels of root extract of Palm that has a diuretic activity of white rats wistar strain. As many as 25 test animal's tail is divided into 5 groups: control group i.e treatment of negative (aquadest), a positive control group (furosemid suspension), group root extract aren 100 mg/kg, group root extract aren 200 mg/kg and groups of Palm root extract 300 mg/kg. Diuretic effect of testing done by looking at the volume of urine is issued for 18 hours. The results showed issuing Palm root extract during the time of observation going on increased volume of urine. Data were analyzed with spss 16, unlike any real treatment tested by one way ANOVA. Increased concentrations of root extract aren showed better results. Based on these results, it was concluded that root extract has a diuretic effect of areca palm (p < 0.05) and optimal levels of root extract of Palm that has a diuretic activity of white rats wistar strain is 300 mg/kg.

Abstract

Abstract: Validation of analytical methods need to be conducted to determine the feasibility of the method when the method is newly developed or modified. Determination of nitrite in water-based Cupling diazotized reaction has been developed in various fields. Many modifications have been carried out primarily in the selection of the source of the diazonium salt compound or compounds that can cupling.  The this study was to determine the validity of the determination of nitrite in water by spectrophotometric  method  cupling  compound α-nafthilamin. This study is a pre-experiments with experimental units and large units based guidelines experimental validation of analytical methods. The results show the value of 0.995 linearity, limit of detection (LOD) 0.039 ppm, 0.882 sensitivity, precision 1.38%, and 100.37% accuracy rate. The conclusion of this study is the method of spectrophotometric determination of nitrite in water using compound α-nafthilamin cupling  valid for determining the concentration of nitrite in the water with a minimum detection limit of 0.039 ppm.

Abstract

Abstract: Background: Obesity is a condition in which there is an excessive accumulation of body fat. Cases of obesity will continue to increase and an estimated 1.12 billion people in the world will be obese by 2030 (Meydani and Hasan, 2010; Der¬demezis et al., 2011). In Indonesia, the lifestyle changes that lead to Westernization causes changes in diet refers to a diet high in calories, fat and cholesterol that have an impact on the increased risk of obesity (Dir.Kes, 2009). Leptin is a protein derived from the 167 amino acids and the product of the obese gene (ob) with a molecular weight of 16 kDa that is synthesized mainly by adipose tissue. Leptin serves to regulate the metabolism of energy balance and body weight. In general, leptin plays a role in inhibiting hunger and increase energy metabolism. In individuals with large fat tissue contains more leptin than smaller fat tissue, whereas obesity is often found leptin resistance. Some researchers have found that higher leptin levels in obese people compared to people with normal weight (Considine, 1996). Circulating leptin levels in the blood of normal individuals known of 1-3 ng / mL, whereas circulating leptin levels in the blood of obese at 100 ng / mL (Hoda et al., 2012).

Abstract

Abstract: Background: "Saving lives" based on the degree of acuteness is a general principle in determining the priority of patients with acute condition, but it is not the only cause of the complexity of the situation in the emergency department (ED). Patients with non-emergency or non-urgent condition in large amounts can also contribute to an increase in overcrowded conditions, one of which is a laceration of the scalp (scalp). Closure of the wound on the scalp through invasive procedures have several limitations including a relatively long time and is often reported to be a painful procedure that can be a traumatic experience, especially for children. One modality that can be used as an alternative is apposition Hair Technique (HAT). Methods:  Identification of relevant Hair apposition Technique literature in the form of articles and research. Results: Three (3) among the reviewed research articles (original research) was a randomized controlled trial (RCT). In general, the third research found that HAT procedure seems more advantageous than standard wound closure techniques in  pain less and scarring, minimal complications and a faster procedure than standard suturing techniques. However, two of the research have differences results in terms of patient satisfaction related process of wound healing, infection and bleeding or wound breakdown (open wound back). One other study also reported advantage of a higher cost effective in HAT compared to standard wound closure procedures. In addition, application of HAT by ER nurse seems to be equally good results with application by doctor but with a more sympathetic approach to care and focus on the patient .Conclusion: Hair Apposition Technique can provide greater benefits in achieving the main goal of wound closure and its convenient and cost effectively effects allows application of HAT by Emergency Room (ER) nurse.
