Abstract

Teaching material is a collection of learning information needed by teachers and students in carrying out teaching and learning activities in class. Teaching materials in the form of printed books by utilizing the local potential of Angiosperms plants in the environment around students are not yet available at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Angiosperms materials based on ethnobotany in order to improve student learning outcomes and scientific attitudes. The teaching material development uses Hannafin and Peck's models. The study was conducted at Kurun High School 1. Sources of research data came from experts as validators, students as users of teaching materials and teachers as assessors of teaching materials. This research approach uses a mixed methods approach which is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. To see the effectiveness of teaching materials using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire assessed by validators, teachers and students. Then analyzed based on the percentage of ideals. Meanwhile, to find out the increase in student learning outcomes and scientific attitudes using N-gain. The results showed that Angiosperms material based on ethnobotany that were assessed by 2 expert validators and the students' responses showed that the teaching materials developed were of very good quality. Evaluation of biology teachers on teaching materials that have good categories and are suitable for use. The use of teaching materials developed has proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes with the acquisition of N-gain in small-scale trials of 0.62 and large-scale trials of 0.53 in the medium category. It also can improve students' scientific attitudes by obtaining N-gain in small scale trials that is 0.53 and large scale trials that is 0.58 in the medium category

Abstract

Pendekatan saintifik merupakan pembelajaran yang mengadopsi langkah-langkah saintis dalam membangun pengetahuan melalui metode ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik guru biologi SMA di Boyolali semester gasal tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan  adalah deskriptif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah satu guru kelas X (SMA N) dan satu guru XI (SMA Swasta).  Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode observasi untuk mengamati guru saat pembelajaran selama 3 pertemuan, dibantu dengan dokumentasi video saat pembelajaran. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa implementasi pembelajaran pendekatan  saintifik guru Biologi SMA di Boyolali  semester gasal TA 2018/2019 termasuk cukup (44.75%). Pembelajaran saintifik yang digunakan adalah Discovery Learning (40.95%) termasuk cukup dan Problem Based Learning (64%) termasuk baik. Namun belum semua guru Biologi yang digunakan penelitian menggunakan kedua model pembelajaran tersebut. Guru Biologi yang sudah menggunakan kedua model tersebut implementasinya termasuk baik (64%) dan yang mengimplentasikan satu model pembelajaran termasuk katagori kurang (33.2%). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian serta pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran saintifik guru Biologi SMA di Boyolali  semester gasal TA 2018/2019 termasuk cukup (44.75%), dengan model pembelajaran  Discovery Learning dan Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji ada tidaknya pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik.  Penelitian ini merupakan Quasy Experiment dengan Pretest-Posttest Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Kedua kelas diberikan pre-test sebelum perlakuan. Post-test diberikan pada akhir penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 kelas X MIPA di SMA Negeri 1 Gebog. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik cluster sampling dengan kelas X MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis media gambar berbasis potensi lokal, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara, angket, dokumentasi. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan Independent Sample t-test dibantu program SPSS 19 dengan taraf signifikasi 0,050. Prosedur penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; 1) ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep (p-value 0.011 < sig. 0.050). Peserta didik yang menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis potensi lokal memiliki pemahaman konsep yang lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang diajarkana menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal; 2) ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap sikap kepedulian lingkungan (p-value 0.006 < sig. 0.050) peserta didik yang dibelajarkan menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis potensi lokal lebih baik dibandingkan peserta didik yang dibelajarkan menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep dan sikap kepedulian lingkungan

Abstract

Media merupakan alat yang penting dalam proses pembalajaran. Maka seorang calon pendidik perlu memiliki keterampilan dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan salah satunya untuk mengasah keterampilan peserta didik dalam membuat media pembelajaran adalah dengan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian PTK. PTK dilakukan dengan dua siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi, lembar kerja kelompok, tes untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman, catatan lapang, dan rubrik penilaian kualitas media pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki pemahaman yang bagus terkait media pembelajaran dan kualitas media pembelajaran hasil buatan mahasiswa juga bagus dengan penerapan model pembelajaran ini. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kualitas media pembelajaran buatan mahasiswa.

Abstract

The Rawa Danau Nature Reserve in Serang Banten is a highland swamp conservation area that is still left on the island of Java, but its existence is currently very threatened by human activities to fulfill its needs. Therefore, awareness of the importance of biodiversity through conservation education is needed. Conservation education requires materials or facilities that are close to people's lives, one example is bamboo plants. Bamboo is quite well known by the public, because it is used in everyday life. This study aims to find out the types of bamboo in Rawa Danau natural reserves which are then packaged as material for the development for Conservation Education. The research and development method is used to obtain the Conservation Education product. The result found 8 types of bamboo consisting of 5 genera, namely Dinochloa scandens, Gigantochloa apus, Gigantochloa atroviolacea, Gigantochloa pseudoarundinacea, Schizostachyum iraten, Bambusa vulgaris, Dendrocalamus asper, Gigantochloa atter. Furthermore, people’s knowledge about the types of bamboo are used as material for Conservation Education that can increase knowledge, attitudes, skills, awareness and participation of the community in preserving environmental sustainability

Abstract

 Characteristics of seeds such as seed shape, color, size, texture of the seed coats and  hilum shape can be used to solve classification problems. With biology microskop  observations obtained under specification of character seeds for 12 species of  Indigofera  from Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. The results showed that the pattern of seed coat ornamentation, hilum, seed shape may help in the identification of the species..

Abstract

The effectiveness of learning is important to know, as an indicator that learning created has brought useful results for students or educators. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of Blended-Problem Based Learning models with Lesson Study toward cognitive learning outcomes. The effectiveness of learning toward cognitive learning outcomes was obtained through cognitive tests, interview and observation guidlines, then the results analyzed by a qualitative approach. The research data shows that the average cognitive learning outcomes of students in Class X IPA 7 of SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar in the 2015/2016 Academic Year increased by 7,27% and students also have a good response to learning. These results indicate that the Blended-Problem Based Learning model with Lesson Study effectively improves cognitive learning outcomes, with students experiencing learning activities from the best efforts of educators in creating learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore (1) whether through Guided Inquiry Learning with the Experiment Method can improve learning motivation for XI grade students; (2) whether through Guided Inquiry Learning with Experiment method can improve learning achievement for XI grade students.This study follows a class action research procedure that starts from the planning process, implementation of the action, observation and ends with a process of reflection on the results of the action. The research data was collected through test techniques. The test technique is used to collect data on students' abilities.The research findings show that Guided Inquiry Learning with Experiment method can significantly increase motivation and learning achievement Biology Basic Competency Test of Food from the initial condition of low motivation to change into a highly motivated final condition. This method is also able to improve student learning achievement. This is indicated by changes in the average score in the first cycle 69.5 and 84.9 in the second cycle; the average completeness in the first cycle was 34.3% and the average completeness in the second cycle was 96%. Thus Guided Inquiry Learning with Experimentation methods can improve motivation and learning achievement Biology Basic Competence of Food Tests on Students.

Abstract

Tagetes erecta is an annual plant that is, in addition, to be used as an ornamental plant, it can also be used as an agent for phytoremediation. Glomus intraradices is one of the species of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi which can be mutually symbiotic with various species of plants, including T. erecta.  This study was aimed to determine the effect of VAM fungi G. intraradices on the growth of T. erecta in growth media containing chromium. The study was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design with treatments, namely Cr6+ concentrations of 0, 5 and 10 ppm in the form of K2CrO7, and the addition of VAM fungi G. intraradices in the growth media in the form of soil and mixture of soil: textile sludge (1: 1).  T. erecta was grown in four different growth media (soil, soil: textile sludge (1:1), soil+VAM, soil: textile sludge (1:1)+VAM) that was treated with Cr6+ and G. intraradices for 1.5 months. The growth of T. erecta was determined based on plant height, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, and percentage of mycorrhizal infection. Data were analyzed with two-way Analysis of Variance (two-way ANOVA) and DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) with a test level of 5%. The results showed that the growth of T. erecta in media containing Cr6+ (5 and 10 ppm) decreased significantly compared to controls (without Cr6+ treatment).  The highest reduction of plant growth was found in media containing Cr6+ of 10 ppm. The addition of VAM fungi G. intraradices in soil media and soil: textile sludge that treated with Cr6+ was able to increase the growth of T. erecta. These results indicated that the VAM fungi G. intraradices were able to improve the ability of T. erecta to deal with chromium heavy metal stress. That results were also supported by the percentage of mycorrhizal infection in the roots of T. erecta grown in soil and soil: textile sludge (1:1) media with treatments of Cr6+ and VAM G. intraradices were higher than the control plants that was grown in soil and soil: textile sludge (1:1) media without treatments of Cr6+ and VAM G. intraradices.

Abstract

Globalization and the development of science and  technology cause human  needs increase. This has an effect on land use, especially in watershed areas. Serayu is one of watershed in Central Java which is have problems related to land use, which occurs in the upper of the watershed. Agricultural Intensification, deforestation, an increase in population are factors that drives land use changes in the upper of Serayu watershed. The utilization of  watershed areas that ignore spatial rules causes pollution and land degradation. That condition happened and this makes the Serayu watershed one of the priority watersheds for rehabilitation in Indonesia. Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are tools that used to analyze land use changes that occurred in 2009-2019. Land use are classified into six classes ; water bodies (rivers, lakes, ponds), built-up areas, shrubs, forests, agriculture (rice fields, fields), and empty land.
