Abstract

The design principles of online distance learning that have been developed in previous studies need to be investigated in the process of adaptation and implementation. The process provides important insights to refine these principles to make them more appropriate to the learning context. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of adaptation and implementation of online distance learning design principles by preservice mathematics teachers. The present study employed qualitative research which is based on the activity theory model. The results of this study reveal the challenges experienced by preservice mathematics teachers in adapting and implementing online distance learning design principles. In addition, this study also finds that the community around the preservice mathematics teachers has an important role in supporting them to design and implement online distance learning.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive study that aims to describe the errors made by students in solving high order thinking skills (HOTS) type math problems based on Newman. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Majasari, Pandeglang Regency with a research subject of 21 students, which will then be selected as many as 6 students to be interviewed. The research instrument used in this research is a test instrument in the form of a HOTS-type math problem with 3 straight-line equations as well as interview guidelines. The results of the study obtained information that the errors made by students when working on high order thinking skills (HOTS) type math problems with Straight Line Equations material were divided into five types of error categories, namely reading errors (errors in reading problems) of 3.6% , comprehension error (error in understanding the problem given) by 28.8%, transformation error (error in problem transformation) by 11.2%, processing skill error (error in process skill) 31.6%, and encoding error (error in processing skill). coding or conclusion error)24.8%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content validity of the test instrument for the mathematical critical thinking ability of junior high school students using the FRISCO indicator as an alternative solution to help teachers realize learning that develops students' mathematical critical-thinking ability. This study uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model. However, the stages are limited to the ADD (Analysis, Design, and Development). The instrument used an instrument validation sheet consisting of three assessment aspects: content feasibility assessment, language aspect assessment, and assessment of the suitability of items with FRISCO indicators, presented in 26 questions. The validation was carried out by five Experts in Mathematics Education Experts using the Delphi technique. Data were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of data analysis, the product of the mathematical critical thinking ability test instrument with the FRISCO theory, 92% have met the content feasibility assessment criteria and are categorized as very valid. In the aspect of language feasibility, 86.60% of the assessment criteria have been met and classified as very valid categories. In the aspect of the suitability of the items with the FRISCO indicators, 92.20% of the assessment criteria have been met and classified as very valid categories. Thus, overall, 90.20% of the criteria for assessing the feasibility of the critical thinking ability test instrument with the FRISCO theory have been met and classified as very valid categories, and are suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the doctrine expectations of learning mathematics. Data was collected through testing, interviews, and documentation. Researchers have designed a virtual learning trajectory (HLT) based on examining the obstacles students face when learning mathematics. Next, a didactic design was developed from HLT. The method of doctrine was implemented, and the results showed that the situation of the three principles expected by researchers was the doctrine of scaffolding strategy. When determining values that correspond to a pattern of numbers, researchers want to learn lessons and provide instructions in the form of education to solve problems. The researcher's expectation of giving other examples of arithmetic progressions when choosing a definition and the arithmetic progression examples help students better understand collaborative learning. The value of the nth term and the sum of the first n math terms are sent to each shirt to confirm the work and interact directly.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop teaching materials in the form of LKPD trigonometry materials through the RME approach. Research and development is carried out using the Design Based Research (DBR) method with the Plomp development model consisting of three stages, namely: Preliminary Research, Prototyping Stages and Assessment. This article is part of a research entitled "Development of Trigonometry Teaching Materials through Realistic Mathematics Education Approaches", which contains results and discussions at the preliminary research and prototyping stages (up to prototype-2). The research was conducted at MAS Mathla'ul Anwar Center. The research begins with a needs analysis in the field, then continues with the creation of LKPD. The worksheets are validated by material experts and linguists. The validation results from material experts are 91.83% with a very valid category and from linguists the validation percentage is 75% with a fairly valid category and needs minor revisions. The results of the LKPD validation by the validator show that the LKPD is feasible to be tested on students with an average percentage of 86.25% with a very valid category. The revision of the validation stage resulted in prototype-1. The small group test was carried out on students of class XI IPA 2. The small group test produced prototype-2 which was ready to be used in classroom learning.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an e-module on statistics using the Malay cultural context of shooting auctions that is valid and practical and has a potential effect on students' problem-solving abilities. This research is a development research with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 50 Palembang. Research data collection was carried out using validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and tests. Validity data was obtained by validating the e-module by 2 validators, and practicality data was obtained through a practicality questionnaire given to students. While the potential effect is seen based on evaluation through problem solving ability test questions. The results showed that the validity score was 0.77 in the moderate validity category, the practicality percentage was 83.52% in the very practical category and the potential effect value on students' problem-solving abilities achieved a completeness score of 88% in the "very high" category. So it can be concluded that the e-module material for statistics using the Malay cultural context of lelang tembak has been tested as valid and practical and has a potential effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of mathematical communication ability of high school students in the subject of transformational geometry. The population in this study were students of class XI at one of senior high school in Karawang. The sample selection was carried out by means of purposive sampling. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with analytical techniques: (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, (3) drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that students' mathematical communication abilities on transformation geometry material in one of the high school schools in Karawang district are in the sufficient category with an average value of 49%. One indicator of communication skills that should get more attention is the ability of students to connect real events or the application of mathematics to everyday life in the form of mathematical ideas.
