Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah rendahnya kemampuan komunikasimatematika siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dalam memecahkan masalah, kebanyakansiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengkomunikasikan hal-hal yang berkaitan denganpermasalahan matematika, seperti mengubah pertanyaan menjadi simbolmatematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapanpembelajaran model Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkan kemampuankomunikasi matematika siswa kelas VII MTs 'Timbang Nurul Huda. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian eksperimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelasVII MTs dari 'Timbang Nurul Huda Sekolah Tahun 2014-2015, sebesar 158 siswa.Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah simple randomsampling. Dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling,penulis secara acak memilih sampel sebagainya dapat dua kelas. Teknikpengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes esai dan kuesioner. Teknik analisisdata dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji hipotesis normalitas dan uji (uji t) yangdigunakan untuk menentukan penerapan model pembelajaran snowball throwingdapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika kelas VII MTs 'TimbangNurul Huda. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menggunakan uji hipotesis statistikdiperoleh t (10,73)> t tabel (2,39), maka terima Hi berarti bahwa penerapan modelpembelajaran snowball throwing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasimatematika kelas VII MTs 'Timbang Nurul Huda. Kesimpulan dari penelitian iniadalah penerapan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkankemampuan komunikasi matematika kelas VII MTs 'Timbang Nurul Huda.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the improvement of mathematical problem solving abilities of students who take part in learning through the REACT strategy. The research method chosen was quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. In this experimental design there were two groups of samples, the pretest, the different treatments, and the presence of posttest. The data obtained during the study were analyzed using SPSS 19 software to obtain a conclusion. After analyzing the data, it was concluded that an increase in students 'mathematical problem solving abilities whose learning through the REACT strategy was better than the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities in conventional learning

Abstract

Application Of Cooperative Learning ModelType Think Talk Write In An Effort To Increase Mathematical Communication Skill.This study aims to examine the improvement of students' mathematicalcommunication skills with Think Talk Write model. This research involvesexperimental class and control class which is taken from class VII (Seven) SMPNegeri 1 Lebakwangi academic year 2016/2017. From the results of the pre-testknown that mean score of the control class was 9,53 while the experiment class is16,85. While the result of the post-test show that the mean of the control classes skorare 26,12 then the mean of the experiment classes score 29,75. The data that gettingfrom post-test doesn’t come from the normal distribution, so this dara was comparedby using Mann-Whitney (U) test for large samples. From the analyze, we know thatzcount = 0,43 dan ztable = 1,64. From both of data we know that 0,43 < 1,64. It meansthat after treatment the experiment classes student’s of mathematical communicationmore than control classes. The improvement of the mathematical communicationability of the classroom is not in addition to the result of the student responsequestionnaire, it is known that the students show neutral response to the learningmodel Think Talk Write.

Abstract

Students' mathematical reasoning in mathematics learning in Class VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum of Kuningan Regency is still low. This is because the implementation of conventional learning model that less develop the ability to learn and build individuals. Conventional learning tends to minimize student involvement so teachers seem to be more active. The habit of being passive in the learning process can cause most students to be afraid and embarrassed to ask the teacher about the less interesting material. One of the learning model that is tried through this research is Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The problems in this research are: "Application of Cooperative Learning Type Teams Games Tournament Model (TGT) is better used in students' mathematical reasoning ability in mathematics learning compared with conventional model". The purpose of this research is to know the application of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model to students' mathematical reasoning ability in learning mathematics. In this research the method used is experimental method. Surachmad (2001: 148) argued that "experimental method is a way to know the factors that cause the cause of the emergence of a result is to compare the events where there is a certain phenomenon. The population of this study are students of class VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum Kuningan District. Sampling in this research using purposive sampling technique with M-G pattern that is using balancing technique average pretest value of control group and experiment group. There are 2 (two) variables in this study, namely: (1) Teams Games Tournament Learning Model (TGT) with conventional learning model, and (2) students' math competency. Data collection techniques used are documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Instrument test results (validity test, level of difficulty, distinguishing power) consisting of 5 items and used for pretest and postes are 5 items. Based on the results of validity, reliability, difficulty, and distinguishing test for pretest, postes, and questionnaires, all instruments are valid, reliable and can be used for data collection. The result of difference test of two pretest mean concluded there is no difference between experimental group and control group. The difference test of experimental group postes and control group was found that the experimental group was better than the control group. Average estimation in control group with mean of student learning result 54.21 while estimation of experiment group average with mean of learning result 56.53 mean experimental group result of student's mathematical ability ability on learning mathematics higher than with control group, hence there is influence Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students' mathematical reasoning ability in learning mathematics in grade VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum of Kuningan. Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that learning using Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model is socialized and used as an alternative in learning mathematics in school. Abstract

Improving Student Mathematical Communication Ability.This study used a description test instrument to evaluate students' mathematicalcommunication abilities and used student response questionnaires to find out howstudents respond to the applied learning. To compare the ability of the two classes theresearcher uses one-way t test for two independent samples, Meanwhile, to analyzethe hypothesis of the class gain experiment, researchers used one sample t-test.From the pretest result it was known that the mean score of the experimental class was 4,57 and the control class was 3,79. Through the t-test at that value it is known that thitung = 1,86 while at 5% freedom degree and dk = 86 is known ttabel = 1,99. From both data it was known that -1,99 ? 1,86 ? 1,99 then it meets the acceptance criteria of H0. It means both classes have the initial ability of the same mathematical communication. Meanwhile, from posttest result it was known that the average of experiment class score was 11,53 and control class was 7,57. Because the posttest scores of the experimental class and homogeneous controls, then the comparative test was performed by the t-test. From the t-test it was known that thitung = 3,81 and ttabel = 1,67. From both data it was known that thitung ? ttable then thitung was not available in the reception area H0. This means that after the treatment of students' mathematical communication abilities, the experimental class was better than the control class. The improvement of mathematical communication ability of experimental class students were in the medium category. In addition, from the results of questionnaire responses of students, it was known that students showed a positive response to the probing-prompting learning model.

Abstract

Satu dari lima kemampuan yang perlu dimiliki oleh siswa sebagai bentukpenguasaan matematika adalah kompetensi strategis. Kompetensi strategismerupakan kemampuan untuk merumuskan masalah, merepresantasikan masalah,dan menyelesaikan masalah. Untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan ini dilakukanpenelitian menggunakan metode Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan, (1) Untuk mengetahui apakahsiswa yang belajar menggunakan metode TAPPS memiliki kompetensi strategis yanglebih baik daripada siswa yang belajar menggunakan metode pembelajaranmatematika biasa, (2) Untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaranmatematika menggunakan metode TAPPS dalam meningkatkan kompetensi strategis.Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Bandungkelas VIII. Kemudian dua kelas secara random diambil sebagai sampel penelitian,kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumenyang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari instrumen tes dan instrumen non tes.Instrumen tes berupa tes kompetensi strategis sedangkan instrumen non tes berupaangket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, (1) Siswa yang belajarmenggunakan metode TAPPS memiliki kompetensi strategis yang lebih baik daripadasiswa yang belajar menggunakan metode pembelajaran matematika biasa, (2) Padaumumnya siswa menunjukkan sikap yang positif terhadap pembelajaran matematikamenggunakan metode TAPPS dalam meningkatkan kompetensi strategis. Hal initerlihat dari hasil angket berupa rata-rata skor siswa dan hasil observasi yangdilakukan selama dan setelah proses pembelajaran berlangsung.

Dewi Nuraeni (NIM 123223005), Aplication of Reciprocal Teaching learning Critical Thinking Skills of mathematical Student SMP, Mathematics Education Program, 2016, 366 pages. This study aims to determine (1) what critical thinking skills that derive mathematical study of mathematics by reciprocal teaching-learning approach is better than students who received conventional learning, (2) what there is an increase in critical thinking skills in students who obtain a mathematical study of mathematics by teaching reciprocal learning approach, (3) how the students response reciprocal-teaching learning approach to improving the critical thingking ability of students mathematical. The research method that used in this study is quasi eksperimental method by using the design research non equivalent control group design. The population in this study is eighth grade student of SMPN 1 Lebakwangi 2015/2016. By using the method of purposive sampling, obtained two samples of the VIII-A as experimental class and VIII-B as sample class. The instrument used to determine the mathematics learning achievment is a form of assay test, while to know the students' responses to learning using reciprocal teaching approach used questionnaire

Abstract

Application of Hypnoteaching Method to imrove Communication Skills Mathematical Student. This study aims to determine students’ mathematical communication skills before and after learning mathematical with Hypnoteaching Method. Pretest data analysis results obtained value tcount = −1, 26 , while at the 0,05 significance level and 40 degrees of freedom, obtained value t(0,975)(40) = 0,021 because -2,021 < -1,26 < 2,021 or − < < t t t table count table then Ho is accepted, it means not different as significance between mathematical communication skills early experimental class and mathematical communication skills early control class. While the posttest analysis result obtained value tcount = 2,632 , while at the 0,05 significance level and 40 degrees of freedom, obtained value t(0,95)(40) =1,684 because 2,632 > 1,684 or t t count table > then H1 is accepted, it the ability of students mathematical communication use Hypnoteaching method is better than students mathematical communication who use conventional learning. In addition, the result of the test analysis gain obtained zcount = −6,7 and z z table = = 0,45 1,64 . Because -6,7 < 1,64 then H0 is accepted and it means the experimental students’ ability of mathematical communication isn’t on the high level. In addition, from the result of attitude scale, it is known that the student showed a positive response to Hypnoteaching Method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritismahasiswa melalui pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatanmetakognitif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan atas dasar pentingnya kemampuan berpikirkritis untuk dimiliki mahasiswa, namun kenyataan di lapangan masih menunjukkanbahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis ini masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian eksperimendengan desain yang digunakan adalah desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Subjekpenelitian adalah mahasiswa PGSD UPI Kampus Sumedang Provinsi Jawa Baratsebagai kelompok eksperimen, dan mahasiswa PGSD UPI Kampus Serang ProvinsiBanten sebagai kelompok kontrol. Pada kelompok eksperimen, mahasiswamendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan metakognitif, sedangkanpada kelompok kontrol, mahasiswa mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. Untukmemperoleh data dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan instrumen berupa teskemampuan berpikir kritis, angket skala sikap mahasiswa,pedomanwawancara,lembar observasi,jurnal,dan daftar isian untuk dosen. Analisis datadilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap hasiltes untuk melihat perbedaan rerata antara dua kelompok sampel. Sedangkan analisiskualitatif digunakan untuk menelaah aktivitas pembelajaran, sikap mahasiswa danpandangan dosen terhadap pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan. Berdasarkan hasilanalisis, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: Kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa yangbelajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan metakognitif lebih baik daripadamahasiswa yang belajar secara konvensional.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswayang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan ContextualTeaching and Learning (CTL) lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperolehpembelajaran konvensional serta respon positif siswa terhadap pembelajaranmatematika dengan pendekatan CTL. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalahmetode eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain Pretest-Postest Control GroupDesign. Dari hasil postest pada uji perbedaan dua rata-rata diperoleh nilai thitung 15,30kemudian dikonsultasikan dengan nilai ttabel 1,68 karena 15,30 > 1,68 maka H1diterima, ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang memperolehpembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan CTL lebih baik daripada siswa yangmemperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Kemudian besar peningkatan kemampuanberpikir kritis kelas ekperimen dihitung dengan cara uji-gain didapatkan rata-ratasebesar 0,71 dengan keriteria tinggi, ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas eksperimenkemampuan berpikir kritisnya meningkat setelah memperoleh pembelajaran denganpendekatan CTL. Selanjutnya, nilai rata-rata skor respon siswa terhadappembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan CTL adalah 69,2% yang menunjukkanbahwa respon siswa terhadap pendekatan CTL sebagian besar siswa setuju danresponnya positif.
