This research subjects were 220 persons unemployed in Malang City; they were 74 men and 146 women. The data of this research was collected by using some instruments, such as Orientation Scale-Revised (ROS-R), Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS-12), and Psychology Well Being Scale (PWBS). The data analysis of this research used Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The result of this research indicated that there was correlation between religiosity and psychological well-being (β = 0,707, p = 0,000), in spite of the correlation is getting weak when it is mediated by intolerance of uncertainty (β = -0,045, p = 0,046).

Abstract

The test in the field of education is a measuring tool used by educators and to support the process of assessing the abilities of students. However, all items contained in the instrument need to be tested. This study aims to test the construct validity of the Cognitive Abilities (CA) questionnaire instrument with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) model. The research sample of this study consists of 31 students. The method used to collect data is a questionnaire. The instrument used in collecting data is a questionnaire. The assessment of the questionnaire instrument was carried out by five experts who were invited as validators in the process of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique. Checking the construct validity of the questionnaire was carried out by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using LISREL 9.30, with a small sample. The result confirmed that the value of approximate fit (chi-square) = 0.00 ≤ 0.03, degree of freedom (df) = 0 ≤ 2.00, the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.000 ≤ 0.08 and p-value 1.000.000 > 0.80. Based on the results, the data shows a better fit with the correlated one-factor model or single item or questionnaire (content, construction, and language style). The point of view that construct validity emphasizes more on how far the questionnaire compiled is related to the theoretical measurement of the concepts that have been prepared by asking for expert judgment.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the implementation of CTL and authentic assessment to the science learning outcomes on 4th-grade students of primary school in Kota Kupang. This study is quasi-experimental using a 2 x 2 factorial design. There are 110 students as the population, in which 60 students are appointed as the samples thru a random sampling technique. Data collection uses an objective test method. The data are analyzed using one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA that is followed by t-Scheffe test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there is a difference of learning outcomes between the students who attend the CTL with the conventional learning, (2) there is a difference on the students’ learning outcomes who attend the performance assessment with the project assessment, (3) there is an influence of interaction between the learning model and assessment used to the learning outcomes, (4) there is  difference of the students’ learning outcomes who attend the CTL, in which it is between the students who attend the performance assessment and the students who attend the project assessment, (5) there is a difference of learning outcomes on the students who attend the conventional learning, in which it is between the students who attend the performance assessment and the students who attend the project assessment, (6) there is a difference of learning outcomes on the students who attend the performance assessment, in which it is between the students who attend the CTL and conventional learning, and (7) there is a difference of learning outcomes on the students who attend the project assessment, in which it is between the students who attend the CTL and the students who attend the conventional learning. Abstract

In order to know the effectiveness of method used in teaching grammar, a study about perception is quite recommended to be explored. Several studies about grammar have been conducted by other researcher but a lack of research conducted to indicate teacher perception toward the method in teaching grammar. Thus, this qualitative research design with case-study was conducted. This study investigated the perception of teacher especially who use deductive more routine toward the use of inductive approach in teaching grammar. The research instruments used are observation, document analysis, and interview guide. The collecting data were obtained through observation sheet, lesson plans analysis, and interview. Although, it was found that English teachers in SMPN 3 Sawan generally prefer deductive approach, it doesn’t mean they were not using inductive approach at all. The finding indicates positive perception from deductive teachers toward inductive instruction in teaching grammar concluded from interview session.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' critical thinking skills by using Scaffolding based Treffinger. The use of scaffolding by teachers has many forms, which can be in the form of questions, media or text-based. This article is a review of several studies / research (meta-analysis) on the use of scaffolding in learning. Scaffolding is given in full and continuously. After students get a sufficient and correct understanding, the scaffolding will be reduced and even completely eliminated. Treffinger's learning model is a learning model that trains students to find ideas in solving problems. Critical thinking is a characteristic of higher order thinking skills that are very important to be developed in school. Critical thinking skills can be trained and developed through learning that encourages students to explore, investigate, find and solve problems through learning activities in small groups. The fact is that students still have difficulty thinking critically. One way to overcome student difficulties in critical thinking is to use Scaffolding based Treffinger.
