Abstract

Vocal chords learning model at the primary  based on the nation  character and local value, aims to nurture the learners of how to gain the skills of singing for the purpose of forming their strong character and enhancing the local value, as well. The implementation of character based vocal learning, starting from the song (lyric) mastery all out according to the rhythm and melody.Nurturing which is dealing with the nation character based development, can develop the learners’  five powers such as: Faith of God, Creation, Feeling, Idealism, and Artificial, which are implemented throughout belief and receiving, love and friendliness, empowering, straight action of nurturing, leading and role-modeling. The rhythm and melody mastery of the students can form their character of faith, disciplinary, and aware of the signals covered in the song. Finally, the strong character, faithfulness, disciplinary and awareness are nurtured in the learners’ personality, subconsciously or unsubconsciously.   Keywords: Vocal Learning, Character and Local Value.

Abstract

Makalah ini berisi pembahasan tentang hakikat pembelajaran sastra di sekolah menengah di Indonesia, khususnya pembelajaran apresiasi prosa/fiksi Indonesia. Hal utama lain yang dibahas di dalam makalah ini adalah persoalan kompetensi pengetahuan dan pengalaman sastra yang harus dimiliki guru agar guru mampu menjadikan siswanya beroleh pengetahuan dan pengalaman bersastra pula. Pembahasan ini dilandasi pandangan bahwa baiknya apresiasi siswa terhadap sastra, termasuk apresiasi terhadap prosa/fiksi Indonesia disebabkan dimilikinya kompetensi pengalaman dan pengetahuan bersastra oleh siswa. Anggapan ini menimbulkan konsekuensi bahwa guru yang mengajarkan apresiasi prosa/fiksi Indonesia harus terlebih dahulu memiliki kompetensi pengalaman dan pengetahuan tentang prosa/fiksi Indonesia. Guru yang memiliki kompetensi seperti inilah yang diperkirakan layak mengajarkan apresiasi prosa/fiksi. Dengan menyinggung bagaimana upaya beroleh pengalaman dan pengetahuan sastra, makalah ini menguraikan secara khusus penerapan pembelajaran apresiasi prosa/fiksi dengan dasar pemikiran bahwa karya sastra keberadaannya ditandai oleh terjadinya hubungan langsung antara pembaca (baca: siswa) dengan wacana yang dibacanya. Dengan demikian harus sadari sepenuhnya bahwa hakikat dariapresiasi sastra adalah membaca.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Seni dan budaya dewasa ini  menghadapi  berbagai mas­alah baik dari sisi konsep teoretik maupun dari sisi praktik pem­belajaran di sekolah. Ber­bagai kajian telah banyak mencoba mene­la­ah permasalahan pembelajaran ter­sebut, baik berupa hasil pene­litian maupun hasil diskusi para pakar dan pen­didik seni. Kajian tersebut telah menemukan berbagai masalah dan peme­cahan­nya untuk ditindak lanjuti oleh berbagai pihak yang terlibat dalam pem­belajaran seni dan budaya. Pergeseran paradigma mau­pun filosofi pembelajar­an seni telah terjadi akibat perkembangan ilmu, tek­nologi, dan seni yang sangat pesat. Hal ini menjadi mas­alah utama dan sekaligus tantangan baru yang harus dihadapi oleh para praktisi seni disekolah.

Abstract

The paper discusses how the ethics of language used in communication becomes deficit in educational interaction of student-teacher during educational process. The time changes and the value follow the changes. That is what happens in the social life. The language used by students has nearly broken the norms of politeness strategies. The global era, in which everybody involves in the display of any kind of commercials and action from visual media; the parents do not really care about being together in the family to form heart by heart communication; and the teachers are busy with overload jobs, is assummed to be the causes. Thus, providing students with more language instructional activities related to the discourse of language politeness strategies should be seriously considered in constructing language educational instruction as the part of character buildings. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe as clearly that moral knowledge is not enough to pass or taught course. Moral knowing (knowledge of moral) should continue to be guided or monitored its implementation phase (moral action= moral acts) in everyday life so that language learning is not just known learners but lived or felt (moral feeling= the feeling of moral) as the needs of the communication, as the needs  of the communication, whether oral or in writing, so that any that exist in the minds of students could be realized in the form of a polite language and ultimately bring the dignity of this nation to the top of world civilization. As for the methodology that supports this article so that it is capable of being clearly descriptive shelled quantitative. Beginning of first language acquisition and second language, then the language learning in second language acquisition category became an important part of that would be seen side of coaching or development of his character to find out balance moral knowing, moral feeling and moral action. Next, the existence of this article may generate a response and a deep contemplation for anyone dabbling in the field of education in particular teacher or lecturer languages also observer languages.Contemplation is the character that's been reflected in any behavior or is it just in the concept or simply knowing only or new on the stage of knowing and feeling, but to implement them not enough time in the monitor so that the expected goal seems far away earth from sky.   Keywords: moral knowing, moral feeling, moral action.

Abstract

Semenjak Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia menggulirkan kebijakan Kurikulum 2013 di sekolah, sejak itu pula topik-topik tentang pendidikan berkarakter di kalangan pemerhati pendidikan dan pendidik menjadi perbicangan yang kian hangat dan menyita perhatian. Namun demikian, sebelum pendidikan karakter akan diterapkan di wahana persekolahan, ada baiknya para pendidik seperti guru, merenungkan kembali, apakah selama ini pendidikan karakter itu sudah ada dalam dinamika keseharian masyarakat dan dunia pendidikan itu sendiri. Menurut pandangan pemakalah, ada atau tanpa adanya pendidikan karakter yang dicanangkan dalam Kurikulum 2013, sesungguhnya pendidikan ini sudah lama hadir dalam pendidikan non-formal, termasuk pendidikan formal. Meskipun tidak dituliskan sebagaimana kurikulum di sekolah, kearifan lokal yang sudah berkembang sejak lama dalam kehidupan masyarakat luas, dapat dikatakan sebagai bagian dai pendidikan karakter. Dalam pendidikan formal, sudah begitu nyata jika beberapa mata pelajaran yang diberikan kepada siswa, khususnya yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan humaniora dan estetika, adalah mata pelajaran yang mengandung unsur pendidikan karakter. Lebih dari itu, aktivitas-aktivitas keseharian dalam masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan seni, yang juga mengandung unsur pembentukan sikap dan perilaku melalui keterampilan, juga bagian dari pendidikan karakter. Jadi tidak sulit sesungguhnya untuk menemukan praktek pendidikan karakter saat ini di masyarakat maupun di sekolah. Adapun melalui pendidikan seni, baik yang terselenggara secara formal di sekolah maupun informal di luar sekolah, adalah bagian dari pendidikan karakter melalui pendidikan berbasis budaya yang tidak terbantahkan.

Abstract

Diatesis aktif dan pasif yang diwujudkan dalam klausa bahasa Inggris telah dikenal oleh sebagian besar pembelajar bahasa Inggris di Indonesia. Akan tetapi, konstruksi klausa yang dikenal sebagai mediopasif masih kurang dikenal dan belum menjadi perhatian sungguh-sungguh dalam pembelajaran sehingga sering menimbulkan masalah ketatabahasaan dan komunikasi di kalangan pembelajar bahasa asing itu. Makalah, yang merupakan telaah lanjut dari bagian hasil penelitian yang dilakukan tahun 2012, ini membahas hakikat konstruksi mediopasif bahasa Inggris secara gramatikal dan mengapa konstruksi tersebut penting dipelajari dan dipahami oleh pembelajar bahasa Inggris di Sumatera Barat khususnya, dan di Indonesia pada umumnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelitian kepustakaan dengan sumber data tesis-tesis mahasiswa S2 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Program Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Padang, ditambah dengan data pendukung dari kegiatan pembelajaran dan diskusi berbahasa Inggris di Universitas Negeri Padang.   Key words/phrases: voice, English mediopassive, EFL learner, active, passive, grammar

Abstract

This paper is aimed to reveal the character building achievement gotten from one of EDP’s activities: seeking and inviting native speaker to the campus done by the EFL students in STAIN Bukittinggi. In this activity, the students get along with them and enjoy practicing their English automatically. This activity is useful to build up students’ courage, students’ self-confidence, students’ self-esteem, and overcoming students’ anxiety to speak English. Especially in Bukittinggi that has many tourism objects and visitors from all over the world, there is always a big chance for the ELS students to meet and talk with native speakers. When they have the brave to talk face to face with native speakers, they directly have built up their courage to speak English. Besides, the other characters (having self-confidence, having self-esteem, and overcoming the anxiety) are built up as well. Moreover, through the activity of seeking and inviting native speakers providing by EDP, the ELS students are not only active to practice their English but also have chance to build up their characters. They look for native speakers, greet them, talk to them, and take them to walk around together. Abstract

Character education is considered to be important since character is functioned as the power of mental and ethics which encourage the nation to realize the national idea and to show the comparative, competitive, and dynamic excellences among other nations. However, the current implementation of character education is not considered to be successful yet. In addition, character education has been widely implemented in schools so far. The research finding about character education in school shows that the implementations of character education in schools are still mainly based on the school condition and tend to be as what it is (without a good planning). Besides, schools also do not have the character education implementation guideline which is based on school condition and the development of students’ psychology. There are some obstacles of the character education implementation in school, which are human resources, facilities, and lack of support from the family and society. The implementation of character education in elementary school has not involved many parties yet and the evaluation is not done continuously. Since the importance of character education implementation to students, especially for elementary school students, it needs model reconstruction which is appropriate and applicable to elementary school students. Role play is one of the activities in elementary school curriculum which is possibly used as a media to transfer the character value. Besides the fact that role play has not widely introduced yet, it is such a pleasing activity. Role play here is role play which has a concept in the model of theater empowerment. Through this theater empowerment, students will have the experience to involve in the society. Besides, students’ characters can also be forged during the practice session of theater. Therefore, character education model based on theater empowerment can be an alternative of character education in elementary school.   Keywords: Character Education, Theater Empowerment, Elementary School Students

Abstract

Penggunaan teknik  pembelajaran yang tepat sangat berpengaruh terhadap  proses dan hasil pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu,  seorang dosen yang profesional harus bisa memilih teknik yang tepat, supaya tuntutan hasil pembelajaran tercapai secara optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan  teknik presentasi materi untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran Arab Melayu. Setiap mahasiswa harus mampu mempresentasikan materi-materi yang sudah ditetapkan oleh dosen yang berpedoman pada silabus mata kuliah Arab Melayu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas.  Data dalam  penelitian ini dikumpulkan berdasarkan hasil observasi, evaluasi, catatan lapangan, dokumen pribadi, catatan memo  dan dokumen resmi lainnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia FKIP  2011, sedangkan sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester ganjil yang mengambil mata kuliah Arab Melayu sebanyak lima puluh orang.  Penelitian ini terdiri atas dua siklus. Hasil pembelajaran pada siklus pertama masih terdapat empat orang mahasiswa yang belum optimal. Hasil pembelajaran pada siklus kedua, semua mahasiswa  sudah mencapai optimal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat  peningkatan hasil belajar Arab Melayu dengan menggunakan teknik presentasi materi. Jadi, ada hubungan yang signifikan antara teknik presentasi materi dengan  kemampuan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah Arab Melayu.   Kata Kunci: Teknik Presentasi Materi, Pembelajaran Arab Melayu dan PTK
