Abstract

This study aims to describe empathetic listening to school counselors and directing students to difficulties. The samples in this study were 106 school counselors. Sampling method used proportional random sampling technique. The research method used is a descriptive survey. Data collection uses the School Empathy Counselor Inventory which comprises 42 items approved with reliability test results got 0.9405. The results of the study showed that most empathy listened to school counselors in students having problems with moderate categories. School Counselors are capable when listening to problem students. However, for school counselors aged 41-50 years, there was a decrease in empathy and teachers of empathy for women higher than men, so counseling training was needed to increase empathy and listening skills.

Abstract

Teachers’ beliefs are a personal construct that can provide understandings, perceptions, and evaluation of teachers' practices. The purpose of this research was to find out the students' perceptions toward teachers' beliefs and their effect on students' achievement in English as a general subject at Universitas Negeri Padang. This research was ex-post facto research. The students of English as a general subject in 2018/2019 academic year were the population of this study. The sample was chosen by using a random sampling technique in which there were 150 students chosen as the subjects of this research. The data were taken by using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed by using SPSS Statistics 18 Software. The result showed that there were no significant effects of teachers' beliefs on students' achievement. H0 was accepted because the t-value was lower than the t-table. The value of the t-value was 1.008, while the t-table was 6.313.

Abstract

Homeschooling could be an education alternatives, the substance of activities of the school. The child is learns everything under control and supervise of parent. Families must have a strong commitment within the practice. This study is a qualitative phenomenological approach focused discusses a phenomenon about homeschooling. The aim of this research is to know the methods of study used in the process of teaching and learning results gained from the learning process through homeschooling. Collecting data is using the method of observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive method and the validity of data is done by triangulation. The results are: 1) in behavioristic kids are love learning because fun and can be anywhere. Cognitively, kids can customize his ability to learn. In humanistic kids are aware to the conditions and environments around them. 2) Learning Outcome demonstrate the kids progress in cognitive, affective and psychomotor.

Abstract

Penurunan moral merupakan isu yang paling penting untuk diperbincangkan, berbagai macam pengaruh yang dapat menurunkan perkembangan moral seseorang terlebih pada usia remaja yang merupakan masa yang terjadinya perubahan yang sangat pesat yang mudah terpengaruh oleh lingkungannya.. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku prososial dan religiusitas dengan moral pada remaja. Subjek penelitian adalah 100 siswa SMP. Data  dikumpulkan melalui angket yang terdiri dari perilaku prososial, religiusitas, dan moral. Hasil analisis menunjukan hubungan positif antara perilaku prososial, religiusitas, dan moral yang artinya semakin tinggi perilaku prososial dan religousitas maka semakin bagus pula moral yang dimiliki remaja.Kata kunci : moral, perilaku prososial, religiusitas

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy on marital communication among Iranian married women who lived in Malaysia from ‎2015 to 2016. The qualified participants were assigned randomly into three groups, i.e. two experimental groups which in order received schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy, and a control group which did not receive any treatment. The treatment sessions lasted nearly three months using marital satisfaction subscale from the ENRICH questionnaire, a demographic questionnaire and Young's schema questionnaire as the instruments. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA and ANCOVA were also employed for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy had a significant effect on marital communication of Iranian women in Malaysia. Moreover, the findings showed more improvement for schema-focused mindfulness therapy group at two months follow-up.

Abstract

Based on the phenomenon in the field is seen that the performance of officials in SKB city of Padang is still a problem tutors poor performance of officials in lesson planning, lack of discipline officials in carrying out duties, poor performance of officials in the implementation of learning, low capacity of officials in mastering learning materials and lack of loyalty work pamong , This study aims to reveal: the contribution to the performance of work motivation SKB tutors in the city of Padang, the contribution to the performance incentive SKB tutors in the city of Padang, and the contribution of motivation and incentives together on the performance of tutors in SKB Padang. The research methodology used in this study is a quantitative method by using quantitative descriptive analysis approach. The population in this study were twenty five people and all sampled in this study. The data were analyzed using correlation techniques. Testing hypotheses using correlation and regression technique is simple and multiple regression assisted with SPSS version. The results showed: Work motivation to contribute to the performance of officials in the city of Padang SKB with the contribution of thirty-six point four percent. Incentives contribute to the performance of officials SKB Padang City with the amount of twenty-six point two percent. Motivation and incentives jointly contribute to the performance of officials in the city of Padang SKB fifty-five point two percent. It is clear that to improve the performance of officials is good and should ideally be done through motivation and incentives are adequate.

Abstract

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Approach is one of the ways to change irrational thinking about academic stress and group guidance is an effective service and tools to support the implementation of the REBT approach in order to overcome the students’ academic stress in SMA Negeri 3 Padang. This research was used The Non Equivalent Control Group which was classified in the Quasi Experimental The Subject of this research was 10 students of the experimental group which identified as having very high, high, medium, low and very low academic stress. Instrument of this research was used academic stress scale that has qualified the instrument research, and then analyzed by used Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Kolmogorov Smirnov 2 Independent Samples.  The findings of this study show in general that REBT Approach through group guidance was Effective to overcome the students academic stress. In Specific (1) there was a significant difference in scored on the student's academic stress of the experimental group(2) there was significant difference in scored on students’ academic stress in the control group (3) There were significant differences in scored on students’ academic stress in the experimental group which following the REBT approach through group guidance with Control group, which following the REBT Approach without REBT Appoach.

Abstract

Adolescents who have parents as Indonesian Workers have a tendency to be closed, quiet, less able to socialize, have been learning problems and lack discipline that needs the attention of all parties. Therefore, this study aims to uncover adolescent problems, including personal problems, social relations, and academic problems. This study used a qualitative method of intrinsic case study approach with two teenagers as respondents. Data collection by in-depth interviews, and the validity of the data by data triangulation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The research findings revealed that the problems experienced by respondents were not self-confidence, lack of attention from parents, not confident, anxiety, economic problems, broken relationships with parents and siblings, difficulty socializing, not confident away from parents, easy feeling sad when talking about parents, careless, daydreaming and not listening to the advice of others. Then their social relations are good, and some are difficult to get along with the community and like to be alone. After that their parents support the lectures that theme have undergone, but there are also respondents who experience financial constraints and poor learning skills in college.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the description of cyber bullying behavior in schools, to know the implementation of assertive training on cyber bullying behavior and to know the effect of assertive training on cyber bullying behavior before and after treatment. This research is quantitative using the true-experimental design approach. A sample of 31 people. The results of the study are; (1) almost all students have bullied or there are 32% where they do bullying such as taunting, tweaking, humiliating and posting it on the Internet, and students take steps to report to the teacher in the event of bullying or about 59% of students do it. (2) Assertive training activities on cyber bullying behavior carried out in 4 (four) sessions: introductions, assertive explanations, assertive behavior such as honest behavior, expressing thoughts and feelings, identifying behavior desired by clients and expectations, expressing ideas that irrational, attitudes and misunderstandings in the minds of clients / students. Communication skills and dare to say no through “Speak UP”. (3) From the result’s hypothesis, hypothesis, testing provision, assertive training is very influential on the behavior of bullying in schools. For experimental group and experimental group did not have a significant change.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe self control and truant behavior students and examine the relationship between self control with the behavior of truant students. This research applied quantitative method and descriptive correlational design, with a sample of 234 students,  that drawn by Propotional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instrument of this research was a scale of Likert model. Hypothesis testing of research using the formula Pearson Product Moment Correlation with SPSS for mindows release 20.00. The results showed: (1) on average,  the truant behavior of class X and XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang was 19.86 hours of lessons in 2 months, (2) on average,  class X and XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang self control was 108.24 at the high category, (3) there was significant negative of self-control with truant behavior of students, with a correlation coefficient -0.289  significance level 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. This research can be used as an analysis of the needs of students for the teacher of guidance and counseling for the manufacture of guidance and counseling services programs at SMA Negeri 7 Padang.
